djminfll Report post Posted May 21, 2014 Why not? maybe you can teach them how wonderful, gas saving and relaxing driving at speed limit is ;) ( that's assuming 70 is above speed limit)Speed limit on I-95 is 65mph, so if I'm going 70 in the carpool lane, I think that is sufficient. But I think road rage was invented in South Florida, and if I'm going slower, I'm afraid I might incite a road rage incident! I will admit, though, that if I see that the person behind me is not driving a hybrid or doesn't have a passenger, I do slow down a bit. I paid a premium to own a hybrid, and I earned my place in that lane, the jerk behind me just thinks he is entitled to more than everyone else. Then I just pray for the police cars that do a pretty good job at catching these violators. 4 Sleddog, acdii, corncobs and 1 other reacted to this
Sleddog Report post Posted May 21, 2014 Been averaging between 55 and 58 mpg on my daily commute. Still at 51.5 lifetime. I'm hoping that will go up another tick shortly. 2 Nick Golden and djminfll reacted to this
Sleddog Report post Posted May 22, 2014 (edited) Finally! I took some pictures from my trip home. I'm at 55.2mpg on this tank. I have between 3/4 and 1/2 of tank left. I got 59.4mpg on the way home! And my lifetime clicked up to 51.6! :happy feet: Edited May 22, 2014 by Sleddog 4 jeff_h, hybridbear, corncobs and 1 other reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted May 23, 2014 Well I no longer wonder how YOU do it! I did it too. Way back traffic royally sucked. Check out the regen miles! I hate Chitcago. 3 hybridbear, corncobs and Sleddog reacted to this
ptek Report post Posted May 23, 2014 I've been getting mostly 44 - 46 MPG on my daily 44 mile commutes, with an occasional 47 or 48. Today, I shut off the FFH and was surprised to see 49.9! I'm sure it helped that I "got stuck" behind slower traffic on the 70 MPH stretch of freeway driving. (I decided to stay behind the slower 60 - 65 MPH traffic and conserve fuel.) My first 50 MPG commute is in sight! Pete 3 Sleddog, jeff_h and hybridbear reacted to this

Sleddog Report post Posted May 23, 2014 Yes it is. I know at some point my life time average is going to stop going up. That's ok through. If I can get to 52, I'll be very happy.
acdii Report post Posted May 23, 2014 Its funny, this thread was started because of me and a few others bitching about how bad the FE was in our cars. Now that I have one that works, I have to say this.... I did it AGAIN! yeah they do get 47 MPG, and I wasn't trying either. Whats funny was for the first part of the trip the graph was sitting at my lifetime of 41, so needless to say I was surprised at this, I expected 43. 3 Sleddog, corncobs and jeff_h reacted to this
md13ffhguy Report post Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) My '13 FFH has been tearing it up lately! Got my Fuelly (actual, out-of-pocket) running MPG avg up to 49.0, and I couldn't be more thrilled about this aspect of the car! Seriously loving it! corncobs Report post Posted May 28, 2014 ... and today I got it! 50MPG.jpgNice one I love seeing 50's as well now if you work on your brake score you might see 51 or 52 ;) 2 jeff_h and hybridbear reacted to this
ChrisAshton84 Report post Posted May 28, 2014 I'm finally reliably seeing 50+mpg if I do side streets for my drive in to work - it's 5 miles, either on a 55mph (realistically 60) interstate or side streets with a few stops. For some reason, EV+ mode kicks in really early with the side street route which helps a lot. Unfortunately overall mpg is still less than my 2003 Dodge Neon :-( I'm not a fast driver, and don't put a lot of miles on. I only accelerate at 2 bars if at all possible (i.e. not merging), and my brake score should be pretty good. This is a job 2 car so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, besides having the Ti model tires.

ChrisAshton84 Report post Posted May 29, 2014 (edited) You got 50 MPG in your Neon??I meant overall - I'm averaging 36 mpg so far, and I was getting around 38 in the Neon for the same driving patterns (actually, more aggressive driving). I'm only seeing 50+mpg on a few < 5mi trips. Edited May 29, 2014 by ChrisAshton84
inco Report post Posted May 30, 2014 Wandered out into the roads paved to Halifax yesterday for a 23 miles excursion and a business lunch. Getting there was going uphill and so my return mileage should be much better. 5.6 on the way there or 42 mpg in US speak. Coming back 4.2 or 56 mpg. Not too shabby eh? :) 1 hybridbear reacted to this
Nick Golden Report post Posted May 30, 2014 Big milestone for me. My mileage to date just clicked up to 47.0 mpg. I seem to gain 0.1 mpg per day or day-and-a-half. 2 corncobs and hybridbear reacted to this

corncobs Report post Posted May 30, 2014 It just keep getting better. Almost at a 47 MPG tank, sitting at 46.8. Until yesterday my current tank was camping out at 50+ but after 2.5 hours for 3 miles evening commute nightmare it's at 48 MPG. In case you wonder why there was such a crawl. Construction crews puncture a gas line on Rt 14 in Gary IL. They didn't shut everything down but reducing this road to one lane at rush hour is a very bad idea. Amazing enough I still managed to get 39.8 MPG not bad at all in my book. 1 acdii reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted May 31, 2014 I heard about that, We were already through CL and into Woodstock when it happened. I am still impressed with what mine is doing now, easily seeing 45 every day, and some days even better when traffic is smooth.
Goody Report post Posted June 2, 2014 I've never seen anything like this before. Usually if I make a run solely on EV I'll see MPG 99.9. But 137 MPG is startling. It makes me wonder if something has gone wrong with the display or the computer.

Toyota Prius displays only go up to 99.9 as far as I know. Once in California with the black FFH we saw MPG over 100 on a 60+ mile drive descending out of the mountains back to Palm Desert. 2 corncobs and acdii reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted June 3, 2014 this car surprises me some times. I felt for sure I had a 44 trip, I wasn't even paying any attention to how I was driving. Yeah I did say Holy S**T when I saw this.

acdii Report post Posted June 3, 2014 Why is it all roads come to a stop, down hill? Between that and short stoppers, getting 100% aint easy. I also found the threshold between regen and service brakes is very narrow at times. Really strange thing, its like you push and push and nothing then suddenly you are slowing quickly, and other times its slowing nicely then fades, and you wind up coming to the stop sign too fast. In any case, quite happy where it is right now. Lifetime score is 96%, thats over 24K miles. I do know that I barely ever use the service brakes, there is rust on all 4 rotors. :) 1 corncobs reacted to this
corncobs Report post Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) The current weather and driving with windows down is helping tremendously. I had a 180 mile round trip to Mequon WI yesterday 50.5 MPG outbound / 43.6 MPG inbound (A/C and strong headwind) This morning my regular office commute I love it in case that's in question. Yes my break score could be better ;) I caught 3 bad lights with 40 - 60 % return. Edited June 3, 2014 by corncobs
