Elevation data on the MFT screen
FordIVTteam replied to hybridbear's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I should have mentioned that our in-house systems are equipped with navigation. I was unable to confirm on a non-navigation system, but I'm still happy to verify if your vehicle is displaying the correct information or not. Just send over your information in a PM if that's the case. :) Kim -
Elevation data on the MFT screen
FordIVTteam replied to hybridbear's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hey everyone, I had a chance to check our in-house MyFord Touch systems running V3.6.2 and V3.7. Both systems show the longitude and latitude, however, they do not provide the altitude. If you'd like information about what should appear on your specific vehicle, send me a PM with your name, VIN, phone number, and current mileage. I'll do some digging! :) Kim -
Hey ByebyeWrangler82, Since you've already attempted the master reset and your system is still acting up, I suggest scheduling an appointment with your Ford dealership for further diagnosis: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/LocateADealerThey'll take good care of you! Kim

Hey TonyHzNV, Thanks for linking me to this post. I'm unable to speculate on why the updates were released at those times. These types of inquiries should be directed to HERE, which is the company that provides map updates for Ford. They can be reached at: 1-888-628-6277. Kim

New Software Update for Sync
FordIVTteam replied to IraF's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Im happy to hear that you can browse through the songs correctly again. Are you saying that you're not able to actually play the song once you find it because nothing happens after selecting it on the touchscreen? Hi tr7driver, Once the software has been updated, you will not have the option to revert back to a previous version. Kim -
support.ford.com is... not good.
FordIVTteam replied to md13ffhguy's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hi md13ffhguy, Thanks for the feedback. We had an increased number of users reporting similar issues with the website. Everything is back to normal now. Let me know if you're still receiving any error messages. Kim -
New Software Update for Sync
FordIVTteam replied to IraF's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Yes; you will most likely need to reprogram those settings and re-pair the phone. Here are the steps to pair the device: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/pair-your-phone-sync-myford-touch If I gave you an answer to the second question, I'd be taking a wild guess. ;) I don't recommend installing this update on the 2013 vehicle because it wasn't designed for that model. Hi dmt1971, I'd like to submit your feedback internally. In order for me to do this, I'll need your full name, VIN, current mileage, and phone number. Please send this to me in a PM and link this thread. Kim -
New Software Update for Sync
FordIVTteam replied to IraF's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hey everyone, I've received some PMs about this topic and thought I should jump in and clarify why some of you are seeing an update and some aren't. V3.7 is only available fore customers that have a 2014 or 2015 MyTouch-equipped vehicle. Owner's of 2011-2013 MyTouch-equipped vehicles will not see V3.7 available for download from our website: http://support.ford.com// The MyFord/MyLincoln Touch software level V3.7 is primarily designed to support new features not available on model years prior to 2014 as well as features in markets outside North America. In the spirit of globalization, we have included North American owners of 2014 and newer vehicles should they choose to update their MyFord/MyLincoln Touch system. Hi TonyHzNV, Try pressing the down arrow when you're on that screen. You should still be able to scroll through the entire list. You are not required to use the tabs. I hope this helps! Kim -
Hey nv rick, The A5 card was not officially being installed in all new vehicles until October, when it was released at: www.Navigation.com It sounds like your vehicle came equipped with the correct navigation card, but you can certainly check with the dealership that you purchased the vehicle from to make sure. It can't hurt! :) I completely understand where you're coming from. It is not your duty to go in and find errors within the maps on that website. This website is available for you to report map errors if you do happen to notice them. If something is a reoccurring issue, add that in the description section when you're reporting a change (the website encourages you to add lots of detail). You have the option of reporting changes to a road, place, address, or imagery. From what you're describing, I recommend reporting these as a road change. This is the best website I am able to offer for reporting map changes. If the website doesn't give you the option to report exactly what you want to report, reach out to the HERE support team at: 1-888-628-6277. Kim

LOL Thanks, GrySql! You guys aren't an handful at all. Kim will still be your main rep, but I'll monitor the forum in the mornings and on Fridays. :) As far as SYNC 3, since it's an all-new system (hardware and software) it can not be retrofitted to current vehicles. If you'd like to see more information on SYNC 3, check out this link: http://www.ford.com/technology/sync3/ Looks pretty awesome, right???? Rebecca

Just send a DM and one of us will be happy to respond. Kim

You must first sign in/create an account. Once you’re logged in, type a location in the search bar (upper left corner). Use the + and – signs to zoom in/out of the map. I don’t believe the map can be edited until you are zoomed in very close. Right click the area that is being edited and click REPORT MAP CHANGES. From there, you can select which type of change you’d like to make. If you need assistance reporting a specific change, let me know. I’ll do my best to help out. Kim

Hey guys and gals, Updating your navigation maps is completely optional. While not required, a map update ensures your navigation system's functionality is maximized. It can save you money in fuel costs and driving time, and provide thousands of new points of interest along the way. We are committed to ensuring that each map update enhances your navigation experience and delivers value. If you’re interested in purchasing a software update, please visit: www.Navigation.com Enter the vehicle’s information to see if a map update is available. This is the only website recommended by Ford that map updates can be purchased from. HERE, our map provider, is continuously working to shorten lead times and deliver the most current information available. If you notice missing or incorrect map data, I encourage you to report it at: www.here.com/mapcreator Speak with a HERE representative directly at: 1-888-628-6277 if you have questions about a specific update. Dash button tone went silent: Why? How can I fix?
FordIVTteam replied to Johnboy's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hey Johnboy, Press the 2 gears at the bottom of your screen, followed by SETTINGS, then SYSTEM. Make sure ON is selected next to TOUCH SCREEN BUTTON BEEP. It sounds like you may have OFF selected instead. Let me know either way! :) Kim -
My best recommendation for updating incorrect or missing map data is to make sure it is listed accurately on this website: www.Here.Com/mapcreator Since it sounds like you've already verified this, I recommend reaching out to HERE at: 1-888-628-6277 if you have any other questions about a specific map update. Hi larrylwill, The best way to make sure you are getting the recommended map update for your vehicle is by purchasing from: www.Navigation.com or a Ford dealership (in some cases). I do not recommend purchasing an update through any 3rd party companies (such as Ebay). Kim
-
Hi larrylwill, Your vehicle should have had the A4 card installed in it (if you have the maps for USA/CAN). The complexity of the features of the embedded navigation system require time to build each new map update. HERE, our map provider, is continuously working to shorten lead times and deliver the most current information available. If you notice any map information missing on your current version, you can report missing or incorrect map data at: www.here.com/mapcreator Keep in mind that map updates are completely optional. If you would prefer to hold off on buying one now, you can always check back for new map updates in the future at: www.Navigation.com Hey murphy, HERE and Ford work together to bring you a high quality map product at the best possible price. Map updates for your vehicle have more complexity than PND and smartphone updates, because it is for a factory-installed navigation system. This adds to the cost of updates. Hello GrySql, Don't forget to post your suggestion at: http://social.ford.com/archive/your-ideas/?searchterm=save+navigationand have others vote on it! :) Kim

Color me confused - Sync and MyFordTouch
FordIVTteam replied to mwr's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Awesome! Let me know if I can help with anything else. :) It sounds like you were hoping for a different answer. Currently, the available apps for MyFord Touch are limited. If you have suggestions for future apps that you'd like to see, be sure to post your ideas here so others can vote on them: http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/ Hi Easy Rider, There aren't any other applications available for MyFord Touch at this time. If new apps becoming available, I'll be sure to let this forum know. It is also a good idea to periodically check your account at: www.Support.Ford.com for these types of notifications. Kim -
Color me confused - Sync and MyFordTouch
FordIVTteam replied to mwr's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Thanks, GrySql. I'll jump in and try my best. ;) Hi mwr, Check out this link to see the differences between each system: http://www.ford.com/technology/sync/?vehicle=fusion&year=2015 murphy did a great job of explaining SYNC Services already, but I'll include this link for fun: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/sync-services-overview-sync-myford-touch This subscription service normally costs $60/year for Ford vehicles, so I encourage you to test it out while it is free. Keep in mind that SYNC Services will only work on the phone that is set as ACTIVE on your SYNC account at: www.Support.Ford.com Do you already have an account set up? Hello md13ffhguy, Although the newer software updates are designed to begin installing automatically after plugging them into the USB port, the INSTALL APPLICATIONS button can also be used to start the installation. Some other examples of applications that the vehicle may be equipped with are VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT and 911 ASSIST. Kim -
Hi wchristie, Be sure to let your dealership know that the issue hasn't been resolved and see what they recommend. Unfortunately, this can't be resolved through the basic troubleshooting steps I am able to offer. Kim

Trouble Playing Music Playlists from USB or MP3

Trouble Playing Music Playlists from USB or MP3
FordIVTteam replied to musicmafia's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hey musicmafia, I see that you are already working with Rebecca on Facebook and the Explorer Forum. I recommend continuing to work with her to keep things organized. As a reminder, here are the instructions on how to create playlists in Windows Media Player that she recommended. Make sure the music is listed on the flash drive.Transfer the music from the flash drive to Windows Media player in the Media Library tab.Click on Playlists, and then Create New Playlist.Go back to the Media Library and Sort the music by the file name to show the file path starting with the Flash Drive Location (E.g…E:\Music\MyMusic\...).Select the songs that you would like to add to the playlist and drag and drop them, or right click them and send them to the correct playlist.Once the playlist is complete, click on File and then Save Playlist As.Click on My Computer, and then select the drive associated with the flash drive.Change the Save As Type to Any Playlist.Name the file and click on Save.Kim
