Still beats the CMax in ground clearance and looks. CMax, Prius and Aztek, top 3
-
The real difference is in the front end overhang. With a short vehicle, there is much less overhang, giving a better approach angle. Heck, my buddy with a 16 Vette hit less curbs and parking lot entrances than the FFH did.

Dont forget CMax 5.5" Had 2 Escapes,01 and 03. They are nice, but dont get 44 MPG's
-
Except that I couldn't drive it on the 1 mile sand road to my property. Had a full sized van for that. Van died and now I had to make the big choice. I will miss the Fusion, no doubt.

In your opinion. I needed something that I could drive 60 miles a day on the highway and drive 1 mile on a sand road to get to my hunting/shooting property. The CMax, while SUV looking actually has 1/2" less ground clearance than my FFH. And sorry, but it is a copy of a Prius. Set them next to each other and ask the general populace which one is which and you would be surprised. Just don't like it. Nothing about it is what I want.

I found none of those issues. No better or worse than the Fusion. I got the same MPG on the same ride, so how would minimal EV matter? As to CMax, if I wanted a Prius, I would just get a Prius. Not a copy.

Sorry to say that I traded my 14 FFH in today. I put 47010 miles on it and lifetime average ended up at 44.3. The only problems I had were firmware related, once the firmware was loaded (and stayed loaded) it has been totally uneventful. No brakes, no flats, no engine issue, nothing. Traded it for a KIA Niro hybrid. On the ride to the dealer this morning, I got 43.5 mpg and on the way home in the Miro, I got 44.5! Well see how it goes, nothing I can't sell if it goes bad. In case anyone is interested, I got $12000 in trade-in. Middle of the KBB value.

Kia Niro has a standard transmission.

I just changed my Michelins at 46000 miles because I drive 60 miles on highways as my commute daily. The tires still had some miles left in them, but I was starting to float around at 65 MPH when it rained. I'll give up a few miles for a secure feeling car any day. I went with Goodyear Fuel Max, smooth and quiet, but I seem to be getting worse MPGs. I will give the tires a couple of tankfuls before I make any decisions. I am at 38 psi and will try 40 on the next tank. 38 "feels" good. Of course the tire shop set them to 32...just because...

That dash gauge is just an approximation of the battery charge. Not to worry, when you drive it down a long mountain road, it will fill up.

Any Non-Energi owners try trickle charging their batteries?
Griswald replied to Sky14FFH's topic in 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid
A trickle charger wouldn't do any good, as it only charges the starting battery. -
"Last normally" means many different things to many different people. A "normal" battery life is dependent on time, temperature, discharge rates, discharge amount, cable connection, preventative maintenance and many other factors. If you take care of the battery it can last a long tome, if you don't it may or may not last a long time. You stated that you have owned the car for 4 years, so in my estimation 4 years is "normal" for your battery under your conditions. Now, if this happened at 3 months or even 2 years, I would say that is not "normal".

If you are only getting 30 or 33 MPG, you are doing it wrong... And you bought the wrong car.

2014 or 2015 Fusion Hybrid Trunk and TIres
Griswald replied to J252085%'s topic in 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid
No spare tire and small trunk due to the battery. I wouldn't shove a bicycle in the trunk, but that's just my opinion. The low rolling resistance tires are on all hybrid cars because they increase MPG's. I have 45000 on my originals and its time for new. I don't think that is too bad for factory tires. Heck, I only had them rotated once... You can put whatever tires you want on the car, just know that the replacements may not get you that last 1 or 2 MPG. The MyTouch is not bad by itself. What is bad is that Ford sold it to us as a premium and never supported it in any way. No apps work and no updates are available/
