  1. just under 500 miles on the car and I get my first error from the MFT system. The right hand driver display is telling me this on the way home: The touch screen doesnā€™t have anything to tell me. The navigation tab is just empty and when i clicked on it I got a rotating, please wait icon thing which just spun there happily for the rest of the ride home without actually doing anything. Everything else seems to be working though. I havenā€™t played with it, Iā€™m going to reseat the card and such in a moment, but has anybody else seen this? A search didnā€™t turn up anything obvious. Thanks!
  2. Finally.. the wait is over. Waze is now available for iOS device owners on Ford SYNC 3. You'll need to update to the latest everything (see below). Waze is free. Waze data is "crowd sourced" -- people on the road report accidents, police cars, and traffic jams -- which show up on your display in a minute or two (as compared to an hour with Sirius Traffic Link). It is a fantastic application (which is why Google bought it..). Here is my report.. To get Waze to work on my Ford I had to disable Apple Carplay through the Ford SYNC 3 settings before anything would happen. Activating Waze on the phone and plugging it in opened up new menus and displays - the key one being setting your default navigation software (a menu item that appears only when Waze is detected. There were glitches, and one crash. For a while when I plugged in the USB on the phone I got the dreaded "Inserted USB is not detected" message. I soft rebooted SYNC 3 and power-cycled my phone and things straightened out. Here is a demo video- sadly done in the garage instead of on the road (not safe to drive and film), but you get the idea.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6ntZrJ1bpM Wazer since 2013 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid SYNC 3, v3.0 Build 18025 iPhone X iOS 11.2.6 Waze 4.37.0.0 (Yeah I cross posted this to the main fusion forum..)
  3. Hello, Here is the situation... Traded my older MKX in that had and older Sync with Nav built into it for a Ford Fusion Hybrid. I found the FFH I wanted with all the bells and whistles I wanted minus Nav being built in. I was sold on the ford turn by turn Nav via their service. As we all know ford dropped said service and now I feel a bit pissed off for not ordering the Nav built into the vehicle. I've done some and if I want to maintain the interface of My Ford Touch w/Sync I'm basically forced to replace the infotainment system with a Sync2/3 w/nav cloned module. Now I also have found a few threads that basically say the unit already has all the component parts for Nav and that there is a way to flash the firmware to unlock the nav. I don't exactly trust these post as I haven't been able to find any how toos, or any real proof that this is a thing. Has anybody looked into this?
  4. Yesterday at 5:30am when I started my 2015 FFH/43Kmiles, I saw all lights flash brilliantly - outside front, rear and cockpit screens. I thought I was seeing things because the car rolled out of the garage the same as always. After a 10 mile drive and sitting in the sun at 100 degrees, I started back home. The first 5 miles was unusual then the Nav screen said that the SD card was unreadable. I disengaged it and then pushed it in again and - no joy and no nav was available. I tried cycling the SD card installation again when I got home and was parked in the garage. No joy. I planned to take it in today. Prior to starting I took the SD card out but there was nothing out of the ordinary with the card. I reinstalled it and pushed the start button - surprise, the FFH did not give me any warnings. Nav was back and all displays were normal. I am loathe to ask a dealer to troubleshoot without a message. Anyone have a similar occurrence - momentary brilliant light followed by a SD card read issue later.
  5. Hi everyone! Good news! I'm in the process of joining the Ford Fusion Hybrid Forum community! In case you're wondering why this is good news, I'll share some reasons. ;) By the way, Iā€™m Kim. I'm going to be the Ford In-Vehicle Technology representative on this forum. If you have questions regarding SYNC, MyFord Touch, navigation, SiriusXM, or MyFord Mobile, I'm your girl! I'll be scanning through different threads and jumping in where I can provide helpful information. I'll do my best not to miss anything, but feel free to message me directly if you need me. You may have noticed that I'm not the only Ford representative who recently joined. Here's a link to Ashley's welcome post. Click here to see what types of questions she handles: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/8045-official-ford-service-rep/?p=71669 I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you! Let the questions begin! Kim
  6. Dear sir My car is 2010 ford fusion hybrid, I live in middle east- Jordan, and my car shows U.S maps. How could u help me to update maps?
  7. For folks who use the Send to Car App, whether the Android version or the Apple version: We already know that the Android version is a free, open-source app (available at the Play Store) that works with many automobile brands' navigation systems, in our case in conjunction with Sync Services, to download a destination from Google Maps (on your smartphone) to the Nav system. The Apple version is apparently a paid app ($3.99) on the iTunes App Store and may work a little differently than the Android version to accomplish the same task; to download a destination from the Maps app on the iPhone to the Nav systems of quite a few brands of automobiles. Regardless of which version you use, have you ever downloaded a destination to the Nav system while the vehicle was in motion? Can you do it repeatedly? There have been reports that the Sync Destinations App will sometimes give an error message to the effect that it cannot do it while the vehicle is in motion. I have personally downloaded destinations to the Nav using the Android version of Send to Car while the vehicle was in motion. Not very many, but have done it with no error messages or the app refusing to do it. What experience have you had? If you have the Apple version, do you feel the app is worth the $3.99 you paid for it? Why or why not? Maybe it was a quirk that I was able to do it, but I'd like to know what others have experienced. Thanks in advance! I'm looking forward to some interesting answers!
  8. This is kind of an offshoot of another discussion but feel it warrants its own thread. Post here what YOU use for in-car navigation whether it's MFT/MLT-Nav, Google Maps, stand-alone GPS (Tom Tom, Garmin, Magellan - they still around?, etc), other smartphone app.....you get the idea. Please let us know WHAT you use, HOW you use it and WHY you use it. Tell us the advantages, disadvantages, likes, dislikes, etc. Tell us about that one device or app that WE SHOULD ALL BE USING! This should be interesting.....
  9. About a month ago, my touch screen panel for my entertainment, navigation, etc went bonkers. Nothing worked properly. I took it in to the dealer to get it "fixed" - a new update they said. Before I left the dealership, the 911 assist would longer worked. They did not know how to fix it and gave me a number for the regional manager for me to call. Who I have yet to talk to directly. Last weekend, I went on a short trip and noticed I no longer had any navigation at all. I ended up having to go back to the dealership, get another rental car and again, no solution. Ford said I never had the navigation in this car (untrue) then recanted and said I must have a problem with my phone and I should contact my service provider. So I left the dealership again with no navigation and no 911 assist. Has anyone had this problem? I had navigation (turn by turn) for almost 2 years before this recent issue.
  10. TSB 14-0037 - "GLOBAL POSITIONING SATELLITE MODULE (GPSM) - NAVIGATION DISPLAY OFFSET OR INCORRECT POSITION BUILT ON OR BEFORE 1/6/2014" From a post Waldo made here.
  11. My first post as a long-time lurker in the FFH forums, so please be gentle. :) I've noticed an odd issue with the MFT navigation, and I'm trying to figure out how to troubleshoot, or if anyone else has seen this issue. I'm driving a 2013 HyTi. I'm in a Meetup group and once a month I drive to the next city over (About a 2 hour drive) for a meeting. The meeting is in an old church which Sync knows as a POI. I know the way, but usually set the nav anyway so I get traffic updates and ETA as I go. The problem is, if I start from home, MFT can't calculate the route. Or more precisely, she calculates it, gives me the nanny speech about obeying traffic laws, shows an ETA and highlights the route, then the screen blinks and the route is gone. If I click over to Nav, I get "Route Calculation Failed". Try again, same result. Weirder, if I start the route from anywhere other than my home neighborhood (like from work 10 minutes away), the calculation completes as normal and I have no further issues. I've tried searching for the place as a POI, entering the address manually, and having Services send the route to my nav. I even tried a nearby address in the same destination neighborhood. All have the same result. The dealership applied some TSB related to the GPS not being able to locate itself (the car shows itself off road, etc), but that had no effect. I even tried starting the route from elsewhere and driving near my house to see what happens. As soon as I get into my neighborhood, MFT gives up routing and cancels. I suspect that it's a map issue, but it's kinda frustrating. Anyone seen something similar?
  12. While travelling recently and using the Navigation with MFT on my HyTi, the location of my vehicle moved a few hundred feet from the actual road I was driving on. Here's a photo of the Navigation on MFT showing what I am describing: In the example above, I had been travelling along on the designated route when my vehicle inexplicably "jumped" over to the left on the MFT screen. I can confirm that I was still driving along the designated route. My HyTi didn't just jump into someone's backyard. While driving and attempting to find a location with the navigation, this was a huge distraction. Has this happened to anyone else? Any explanation why this happens? It is the second time it has happened to me. The first time was driving in unfamiliar territory into NYC, trying to find the hotel for a wedding.
  13. Not sure if anyone else has asked about this. I find that the traffic in the navigation map is hard to see (especially the green lines are washed out by freeway lines). They are much easier to see when navigation is in night mode with the black background. Is there a way to manually put the navigation map in night mode? I have done this in other cars but not yet figured out how to do it with this car. Also, can our rep Kim chime in on this? Please suggest to Ford that the traffic lines should be made thicker to be more visible. Thanks David
  14. I know I probably should have put this in Pet Peeves, but I would like a discussion on this subject .... :) We are having a marvelous time in our HyTi, and love the car, but ..... The Navigation system is just a plain POS. I have had better routing, finding of waypoints, and usage with a 150 dollar Nuvi. We paid 900 dollars for this unit and it is sometimes totally unusable. Honestly, is anyone else as dissatisfied with the Nav system as we are? :angry22: I honestly should have known better knowing Microsoft was the driving force behind it ....
  15. We just acquired a 2010 with Navigation. It has the Sync Services option but we have not paid for that service. I'd like to get traffic data for the navigation system and it seems like you have a choice of paying either Sirius/XM $3.00 a month for the data or Sync Services $5.00 per month. Of course it is free on Google Maps and Waze and similar smartphone apps. So, a few questions: - If you install the Inrix app on yor phone does it provide any traffic functionality if you aren't paid Sync subscriber? - Is there some way to use Waze or Google Maps data with the navigation system? - If I'm less than anxious to pay for what is generally available for free am I stuck looking at my phone for traffic data? What I would really like is a car that as a screen that simply displays what's on my phone. All my apps, data, songs, etc. in an interface that I know. And I wouldn't have to pay $2,000 for functionality that Google gives away for free. (Dream on).
