  1. Glad i found you folks, and my thanks to you for reading this and considering my problem(s)!!!! Having issues that are mainly with the rear camera display (which is the only one i have), but have noted other glitches on the "MFT" (why don't they call it an MFD like the rest of the world?). The primary issue has been "sporadic no video in reverse" over the last month or two, which is getting much more frequent. We get that horrid message to contact our dealership. If i can DIY it, i would much rather. I dunno, maybe it's because in 1981-1982 i worked in a Ford dealership... (Actually, i enjoyed it-). Just in case, i did check the battery voltage with the car off and was at 12.56, as i was thinking a battery going bad can create all sorts of weird issues, but battery seems fine (as much as i can tell as i never worked with a hybrid before). I have noted many posts of the issue, but yet to see anything that definitively was cause and resolution of the issue - one person pulled the fuse, reinserted it, and all was fine. Heck, according to the manual: "The fuse panel is located under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column.". I already attempted to see this panel expecting it to look like any other fuse panel i have dealt with but as i couldn't see anything that made sense (unless it was wayyyyyyyy left and they use the code name "Airbag" for fuse panels these days), i'm going to have to have another look, this time with some padding for my knees. Another person replaced his camera and now has picture, but lost any backing up aids. I did note that in the manual it said something about the camera not working if the trunk was open (i think) and we have used the trunk frequently as of late. I suspect due to this i would like to check any inter-switching, but other than tear apart and guess, i am clueless, so if someone out there, a nice Ford tech, can advise, i sure would appreciate it. I did try opening and closing multiple times with no success. I only can hope it is a simpler procedure than when i recently replaced the headlight bulbs... The secondary issues include For a half day it appeared a thumb print was burnt into the screen There was an instance about a week ago that it didn't matter what i pressed on the screen, it wouldn't change. Any and all help y'all can offer is greatly appreciated; i'm afraid the days when i could just bring a car into the dealership and not worry about the bill are long gone. Thank you, -Bruce P.S.- Recently did the trans shift bushing repair myself. Funny how many videos are out there for the non-hybrid versions, but i could not find anything for the hybrid. Thankfully after some swearing i followed the shift cable to the front of the engine compartment and found the darned thing!
  2. Is there a trick to loading a USB drive with mp3s so that MFT recognizes them correctly? I am using a 32GB PNY USB stick to hold numerous albums in the following directory structure: [Root]/Music/[Artist]/[Album]/ All files have ID3v1 & ID3v2 tags. But MFT doesn't recognize the track # ID, and in the Shuffle options, "Album" is grayed out. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
  3. I was chatting with Rebecca @ Ford and she provided a way to reset MyFord Touch without restoring it to the factory defaults and losing the presets, connections, etc. "Download this to an empty USB flash drive and keep it in your car: http://outofmytouch.com/reboot.html It comes from one of our updates and has a delayed reboot file on it. One of our customers did all the "dirty work" and made it accessible on that site. I have confirmed that it's safe to use. It's as good as a master reset without setting everything back to factory defaults." When you download this, remember to extract it directly to the root of the flash drive. Don't extract it to the PC and copy it to the flash drive.
  4. Yesterday I was driving home from work and I was listening to 100.5, one of the presets on FM1. Suddenly there was no sound and I figured the station had a momentary loss of signal, so I tried switching to another station to check. There was no response to my input on the touchscreen so I tried switching to SiriusXM...nothing. Tried switching to CD and again, no response. I tried switching to FM2, no response. I reached into my center console and got my USB reboot stick and plugged it in. MFT did it's thing and at the next red light, I shut off the car and opened the door so it would reboot and everything came back to normal. Has anyone else seen this? That's like the 3rd time I've had to reboot MFT in the 7-1/2 Mos. I've had the car each time for a different reason. Glad I made that USB stick!
  5. This is kind of an offshoot of another discussion but feel it warrants its own thread. Post here what YOU use for in-car navigation whether it's MFT/MLT-Nav, Google Maps, stand-alone GPS (Tom Tom, Garmin, Magellan - they still around?, etc), other smartphone app.....you get the idea. Please let us know WHAT you use, HOW you use it and WHY you use it. Tell us the advantages, disadvantages, likes, dislikes, etc. Tell us about that one device or app that WE SHOULD ALL BE USING! This should be interesting.....
  6. I have a HyTi w/Nav & MFT and set the Ambient Lighting color to orange the day I picked it up from the dealer in April. At least a half dozen times, I have noticed that the lighting was changed back to blue without any input from me. I am the only one who drives the HyTi. I'll change the Ambient Lighting back to orange, but a few weeks later, I find it set to blue again. Has anyone else experienced this? What would cause this? Thanks.
  7. My first post as a long-time lurker in the FFH forums, so please be gentle. :) I've noticed an odd issue with the MFT navigation, and I'm trying to figure out how to troubleshoot, or if anyone else has seen this issue. I'm driving a 2013 HyTi. I'm in a Meetup group and once a month I drive to the next city over (About a 2 hour drive) for a meeting. The meeting is in an old church which Sync knows as a POI. I know the way, but usually set the nav anyway so I get traffic updates and ETA as I go. The problem is, if I start from home, MFT can't calculate the route. Or more precisely, she calculates it, gives me the nanny speech about obeying traffic laws, shows an ETA and highlights the route, then the screen blinks and the route is gone. If I click over to Nav, I get "Route Calculation Failed". Try again, same result. Weirder, if I start the route from anywhere other than my home neighborhood (like from work 10 minutes away), the calculation completes as normal and I have no further issues. I've tried searching for the place as a POI, entering the address manually, and having Services send the route to my nav. I even tried a nearby address in the same destination neighborhood. All have the same result. The dealership applied some TSB related to the GPS not being able to locate itself (the car shows itself off road, etc), but that had no effect. I even tried starting the route from elsewhere and driving near my house to see what happens. As soon as I get into my neighborhood, MFT gives up routing and cancels. I suspect that it's a map issue, but it's kinda frustrating. Anyone seen something similar?
  8. Is there any way of turning off the MFT screen? I can't seem to find the option.
  9. so i was waiting for a parking spot and it was cool outside so i turned the car off and when the spot opened up i turned the car back on and this came out instead of my compass I have a base SE with only reverse sensors. Does this mean i can buy a MFT and add it since that and fog lights are the only things i wish i had
  10. As I've posted previously, I have a Novatel USB727 internet stick that uses Verizon Wireless to provide internet service. I simply plug the USB stick in my laptop and I've got internet service wherever Verizon Wireless has service available. I'd like to be able to plug this USB stick into my HyTi and use the USB Mobile Broadband option to create a WiFi hotspot inside the vehicle. Not so easy, it turns out. The HyTi would not recognize the Novatel USB727 internet stick. So, I asked Rebecca at Ford on Facebook if there instructions on how to pair the USB stick with MFT. She told me to follow the instructions posted here, but these instructions were for connecting a phone to tether, not a USB stick. I waited a month and asked if they had any success with USB sticks. Her is her reply: Has anyone been able to get a USB stick to create a WIFi hotspot? If yes, what is teh make, model, and wireless carrier of the USB Stick?
