  1. I tested this using my Samsung Galaxy S4 and it held my changes. I attempted to end the call using the button on the actual phone. I also tried hanging up using the button on the steering wheel. My volume adjustments saved both times. Which software version is your iPhone running? I'd like to see if I can locate one and test it out to see if that is normal behavior for that phone. Kim
  2. Here I am, GrySql! :) Hello hybridbear, The volume can only be adjusted while the SYNC Services audio is coming through the speakers. Adjusting the volume on the phone while connected to SYNC will not change the volume of the SYNC Services prompts. When the SYNC Services options begin playing, check where the volume is set in the lower left corner. Does the screen indicate that the volume is turned all the way up when initially connecting? Turn the volume knob and you should see the volume adjusting in the lower left corner. Once you select a volume you like, end the SYNC Services call. Press the VOICE COMMAND button and say SERVICES to pull them up again. Check to see if the volume changed and let me know what happens. Kim
  3. Hey IraF and KLH, I can confirm that V3.7.11 was available for a short period of time this morning (for eligible vehicles) on our website: www.Support.Ford.com; however, the download has been removed temporarily. The EU version of this update was released prior to this one, which may have been what you were referring to, KLH. As long as you are obtaining the update from our website, I can assure you that it is intended for your vehicle and will not cause you to lose navigation capabilities. I'll fill you in once I receive more information. Stay tuned :)! Kim
  4. Hi swhall and Hybrider, I just wanted to jump in and let you know that the PERFORMING SCHEDULED SYSTEM MAINTENANCE screen is a forced reboot of your MyFord Touch system. It is basically a preventative maintenance that does not delete any of your settings or paired devices. If you notice this message occurring once in a blue moon, I don't recommend any troubleshooting. If this starts happening multiple times in one day, this is not normal and I suggest performing a master reset: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-myford-touch If you're still seeing that screen pop up repeatedly after performing the reset, it is best to schedule an appointment with your dealership so they can diagnose. According to some feedback from my other forum members, this seems to happen more often if multiple devices are plugged in at one time. Kim
  5. Thanks for your feedback, hybridbear. I'm glad you were able to get this resolved. I just wanted to make sure we didn't skip over the easy troubleshooting first :). Kim
  6. Hi dmt1971, Press the 2 gears > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > scroll to TOUCH SCREEN BUTTON BEEP and press ON. It sounds like this may have been switched OFF by mistake :). Kim
  7. Since your iPhone allowed up to 6 connections, I only would have recommended tethering to MyFord Touch if you needed to connect 7 or more devices to the internet. This feature is more beneficial if a phone has a lower limit of connections allowed. I wish I was able to provide a list of compatible mobile broadband devices, but I am unable to confirm specific models at this time. If you already own one of these, I suggest connecting it to your MyFord Touch system to check the compatibility. I wouldn't go out of your way to purchase one of these devices, since many of the wireless hotspots offered today do not require a USB connection. To see a list of tested phones that will allow tethering, click the box on the left side of the page that says PHONE TETHERING: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/device-compatibility-sync-myford-touch You’ll need to refer to the phone’s manual to see how to set up tethering. You can probably guess that I’m no expert on the iPhone, but I'll try my best to give you an idea of how to connect one ;). From what I can gather, you’ll need to tap the SETTINGS icon on your phone’s home screen then choose SET UP PERSONAL HOTSPOT (unless you’ve already done this). Next, move the slider next to PERSONAL HOTSPOT so the green is showing. Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is turned on. On the MyFord Touch screen, press PHONE > SETTINGS > INTERNET DATA CONNECTION. You will see an option to select PAN if your phone supports this connection. Select this option if you'd like to connect. Kim
  8. Like hybridbear mentioned, this feature does work while the vehicle is in motion. The connection must be set up while the Fusion is in park though. As a safety precaution, the keyboard will not be available while you're driving (it will also not be available to any passengers). Since your phone does not have the tethering option, you won't be able to set up your iPhone as an internet access point while driving. You still have the option of using a USB mobile broadband device while driving if you have one. I normally don't recommend connecting to a stationary Wi-Fi signal since you will lose that connection as soon as you drive away, but there are times when it is beneficial to connect to one. For example, some hotels will offer free internet access, but they will limit the number of devices that you are able to connect. If the vehicle is connected to the hotel's Wi-Fi signal, you can then connect multiple devices to the MyFord Touch system and access the internet through one secure connection. Keep in mind that this will only last while your car is in the parking lot. Once you drive away, you will no longer be able to access that connection. Have you already checked with your mobile phone carrier to see if you have the option of making your phone into a hotspot? It sounds like this will be the most beneficial for you :). Kim
  9. Hi everybody :)! I've seen some great explanations of how the MyFord Touch WiFi feature works throughout this thread. I wanted to step in and confirm some things. MyFord Touch with V3.6.2 installed does currently have a character limit of 10 digits for the WiFi password. You may have seen an 8 digit limit on previous software versions. On some other forums, I've seen owners asking about downloading an update while the MyFord Touch system is connected to a WiFi hotspot. As of now, the only way to update your MyFord Touch software from home is by downloading to a USB from your account at: www.Support.Ford.com Although MyFord Touch will allow you to connect to a home network, there isn't much benefit in doing so. It is intended to acquire a signal from your smartphone or a USBMobile Broadband device. Here is a brief description of how the WiFi hotspot feature is designed to work in your vehicle: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/bluetooth-tethering-sync-myford-touch This video includes helpful information about each type of connection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEnMNrKpqUw Our compatibility chart does not include a list of tested mobile broadband devices, so I am unable to provide information about how a specific USB device will interact with MyFord Touch. You may find this chart helpful, so I'll still post it: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/device-compatibility-sync-myford-touch Ford is always looking for ways to improve their products, so feel free to post any suggestions and new ideas here: http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/ Kim
  10. That's good news! I'm glad you were able to figure it out :). Kim
  11. Hi Gigi, If you have an active subscription to SYNC Services, you can also use MapQuest.com to send a destination to SYNC: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/getting-directions-sync-myford-touch Have you already tried this? Let me know if you have any questions :). Kim
  12. Those are both valid points, corncobs and acdii. In the end, it really depends on the preference of the owner :). Kim
  13. The system was designed to index and play music from media players, USB flashdrives, and/or SD cards. Soft resetting the media player (in this case, the iPhone) periodically will help prevent indexing issues. It isn't necessarily required, it's just my recommendation. As a plus, the soft reset will also improve the Bluetooth connection. There are a few iPhones that have been confirmed to support this feature, but they do not have the carrier listed on our chart. This is why you didn't see any pull up. If you don't mind having fewer voice command options, Bluetooth audio is definitely the way to go for iPhone users :). Kim
  14. Hi Ryan Goodlett, Driving around in a figure 8 would be a lot of fun, but it won't calibrate the navigation system. ;) There isn't a way to adjust the calibration on the MyFord Touch system on your own. This is something that should be handled by the dealership if an issue arises. Hey machoman1337, Did you have a chance to get this checked out by your dealer? Hello darrelld, A master reset is recommended if you ever notice the system freezing. It sounds like you may have already walked through this. I’ll provide a link to the instructions just in case: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-myford-touch Have you noticed an improvement since this incident? Kim
  15. Hello to both of you. The iPhone is compatible with your MyFord Touch systems. If you take a look at our chart, you'll see that the newer iOS versions aren't confirmed as supporting the CONNECTS VIA USB feature: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/device-compatibility-sync-myford-touch This doesn't mean that it won't work, it just means that it may not work exactly as intended. I normally recommend connecting via Bluetooth to stream music if you have an iPhone. If you prefer to continue connecting via USB, I suggest soft resetting your phone every once in a while. This is done by holding the POWER and HOME buttons until the Apple logo appears. This will help keep everything running smoothly and also improve your Bluetooth connection. :) Kim
  16. I'd like to pull up your information and take a look at your most recent case. I'll send you a PM with my recommendations shortly. :) Kim
  17. You're welcome. Please let me know if you ever need my assistance in the future. :) Kim
  18. Hi JimArch and hybridbear, Like corncobs mentioned, I'd be happy to document your feedback. Just send me a PM with some details. It is important to bring these to the attention of your dealership as well. Try making a phone call through SYNC while your vehicle is stationary. Make sure your windows are rolled up and start driving. See if the person on the other end of the call can hear a difference. If the speed of the vehicle plays a role in the amount of interference, this should be addressed by your dealership. Kim
  19. Hey folks, These are all awesome questions! I'll do my best to clear things up. SYNC Services are available to eligible Ford vehicles for $60 per year. If you're interested in purchasing a subscription, you can log in to: www.Support.Ford.com and click PERSONALIZE SYNC SERVICES on the right side of the page. Although you will use the same username and password for both: www.Support.Ford.com and www.Owner.Ford.com you must log in separately to each website. For more information on which features are included in a subscription, check out this link: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/sync-services-overview-sync if you have MyFord Touch, check out this one: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/sync-services-overview-sync-myford-touch If your vehicle came with a complimentary 3-year subscription to SYNC Services, you will be asked to renew your subscription once a year. This doesn't cost anything, but it lets us know that you plan on continuing to utilize these features. When it is time to renew your subscription, you will be notified in your Vehicle's To-Do List after logging in to your account at: www.Support.Ford.com You may also receive an audible message in the vehicle asking if you'd like to renew your services. If you haven't had a chance to check out the SYNC Destinations app, I encourage you to. Keep in mind that it will only allow you to log in if you have an active subscription to SYNC Services: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/destinations-app-sync I hope this helps! If you want me to check out specific details about your account, send me a PM with your VIN, and mobile number. I'll get right on it! :) Kim
  20. I just wanted to make sure you didn't think I wasn't ignoring you! ;) You know where to find me if you need help with any of the SYNC stuff. Kim
  21. Hi Pavman, Just to clarify, did you mean Ashley (instead of Kim)? I saw her reach out to you earlier in this thread. If you have any updates to this case, feel free to send her a PM at FordService so she can help. :) Kim
  22. Hi Tom, I'm happy to help clear things up. :) The complimentary subscription to SYNC Services is only offered to the original owner of eligible vehicles. Since your son is the subsequent owner, he will be prompted to purchase the services instead of activating them. That being said, I do want to point out that our website determines who the original owner is by the registration of the VIN. If a VIN is never registered by the actual original owner, there is a chance that the trial subscription will appear on your account even if you aren't the original owner (this isn't very common). This is most likely what happened with pgje51 and acdii's accounts. If you send the VIN over in a PM, I'll check on the back-end to let you know for sure. Thanks for the shout, hybridbear. Kim
  23. Melissa is my highest point of contact. It is very important that she has all of these details since she is in the best position to assist. I'm glad to hear you're keeping her in the loop about your entire experience. I'm going to take a look at your case and see if there is any new information available. I'll send a PM shortly. Kim
