  1. No issues so far. Just checked and I can access my mail on both my phone, PC mail program and via the interface in my browser.
  2. Well Hi Ashley! Thanks for the response. My question was posted in the IVT rep welcome thread right here on this forum. That's the when and where. Perhaps you and Kim should log your responses to posts so members will not have to explain themselves again. That's like calling CS and having to explain your issue over and over to each CS you contact. It's good to know you are a CS rep. I had a feeling you and Kim where not technically savvy. That's OK. I'm also on the F-150 forums. So yes, they are tough, but it's an F-150 forum. Most of us are just like them, but with a little more etiquette. But I'm sure that won't last long here, just it didn't on the F-150 forum. If memory serves, the welcome there was warm and hardy, just like here. And it stayed that way until they found out that your are just CS reps online and could do nothing to assist in solving their technical issues. There's nothing wrong with being an on-line CS. But we need to know your limitations so we can look to other places for technical help if you can not provide it. This way we won't waste your time, or ours. Some member get enough of a run around from their local dealers. They don't need to get it from this forum. So if you would, please enlighten us with exactly what you can help us solve. Please have Kim do the same. If it's just phone calls to area reps and referring us to Ford Social that's fine. If I need Ford CS, I'll call so I get quick service instead of waiting for a response on the forum. Again, I'm not badgering you. So please don't take it that way. All we want is answers and solutions. Not a pat on the head and the stock company response for issues some have had for months on end.
  3. Mine activate in the same area of my street every time. It's between 2 street light that are spaced a good distance apart. They will go back to low beams if it senses another car. So they seem to be working correctly.
  4. I used to get service surveys after every trip to the dealer. That stopped after I gave poor rating because of a lack of attention to detail in repairing my Fords. Like forgetting to tighten the bolts on the starter of my 06 F-150, installing one tire wrong side wall out, on a new set of tires, installing a blend door motor that caused the air to be diverted opposite to the switch selection. Both of those happened on my 09 Focus. The service manager answer to the issues... "Well every one has a bad day". That's just what I want to hear. I hope I don't get the tech that's having a bad day when I need brakes, or a major repair. Again, this begs the question; will Ashley and the other Ford representatives actually answer questions or will they slowly fade away when the going gets tough? And yes Ashley, I'm going to call you out. About all you have done so far is call area reps about issues. You passed off questions about suggestions to Ford Social. And my question to your IVT expert still goes unanswered. So just what are you here to accomplish? No selfies, photos of pretty people driving cool cars, or feel good stories are needed here. We have technical questions needing answers, and issues we need solved. Are you and the others associated with Ford going to be an online version of Ford customer service? You know, the folks you call that can do absolutely nothing about your issues or problems. My favorite line from them is "Your dealer will have to help you with that issue." Well guess what.. I wouldn't have called customer service if the dealer could solve the issue. Tell us exactly what you can help us with technically, or again, are you just another customer rep that has no technical experience that's here to be a cheerleader? If so, that's fine. If you have read this forum, we have questions we need answered, We have problems we need fixed. So just don't promise what you can't deliver. And by the way, Welcome! I really mean that! I hope you prove to be really great at helping us get questions answered and problems solved. We are waiting. Show us what you got. Impress us.
  5. Got it off eBay from blackhatauction. I saw a few others, but they were priced well over 50.00 This one was priced that high also, but auction the auction closed, they re-listed it at 19.99 plus 4.43 shipping. I'm thing about scanning it and turning it into a pdf. Steve, I hope you didn't pay a lot for it.
  6. Found a copy of this Ford OEM service manual at a great price, less than 25.00. I'm looking forward to seeing these diagrams.
  7. Welcome! They are not actually the low beam. They are a reduced power low beam. And the way you described they operate is correct. I plan on having mine activated when I go in for my first service.
  8. B25Nut is correct. Facebook should not be the "Be all and End All" for communicating ideas and issues to any Ford department. If they want to know what's going on, get them on this forum and off the resource best known for selfies and Rebels Without a Clue posting "Hey Watch this" pictures and videos. That is, of course, if Ford is serious about listening to this community instead of providing fluff answers to hard questions.
  9. Here's one for you. What's the issue with the way the screen to the right of the speedo works when trying to select Navigation POIs? You select items, like fuel stations or financial, an nothing populates 95% of the time. Also I have an issue the MFT and right display sometimes take 15 to 20 minute to populate music info from FM stations. This includes stations that have just stock station info instead of song info.
  10. I use the voice to change destinations or add waypoints all the time. The big issue for me was the sync wench could not understand the words "post office". I found it was me. Once I slowed my speech down she got it with no issues
  11. Glad you got it fixed. I have not had it happen again. The diagnostic works great if they can troubleshoot it when it happens. But for those of us who have had an intermittent failure, or who have had it happen once, I don't think the dealer will just replace the fuel pump relay without some type of troubleshooting. I had no codes and a key reset took care of it. But I will keep this in mind if i have an issue again.
  12. I'm wondering if it's because of the taller sidewall tires on the gas models.
  13. I had it happen to me once. I think it was a fail to stat the ICE with no retry. Cycled to key and all was well.
  14. The weather was terrible here today. 84 and sunny... I'm really hoping for normal temps soon... Normal is 70 to 73. I'm tired of the hot weather. The tourist and snowbirds are starting to show up, Traffic is getting worse. Todays MPG, 55.2 going to work, 57.7 coming home.
  15. When any of my vehicles go in for service, I watch who's working on it. I trust no one. For fluid changes, I always check levels and fluid condition before I leave. I would rather reset the oil life monitor myself and will tell them that. I have 3 years free service so I will let the dealer do it all until that expires. Then I will be changing fluids myself.
  16. The etching is probably for the glass. Check the bottom edge of the windshield, they probably etched it there. It's an anti-theft thing. And it's pure profit for them. I doubt you will get a refund for that. The 6 year maintenance plan, for 2100... Well that may be worth it, what is the mileage limitation on it? Or is it 6 year unlimited. My dealer gave me a 3 year maintenance, 36,000 mile (I'd have to check to be sure) program at no cost. It you decide to take the maintenance program, I would have them take the cost of the etching off it. As for the DRL. Start it, put it in drive with the headlights off, and have some one look at the lights. They should be on at a lower power. As for the what needs to be checked electrically, check the maintenance schedule in your manual. It should be somewhere around page 433. Overall, the multi-point inspection covers what needs to be done. But there is really nothing special that needs to be done. At 100,000 miles you need to have the engine AND the electronic coolant system fluid changed.
  17. I special ordered ours. My wife kept asking me if I got all the options I wanted. I kept telling her I needed to add the FDE 17s option. She looked and looked, and finally told me she could not find that one on the Fusion build sight. After I directed her the FNH USA website, she had no problem searching for it. And there it was, the SCAR 17s, 7.62 x 51 (.308), in FDE. All's well that ends well. Of course we got the FFH, just as ordered. My SCAR 17s arrived today at my FFL (we ordered both the same day). My black Friday will be spent shooting one of the best SOCOM (civilian version) rifles ever made. It may not be a particle beam weapons, or a phased plasma rifle in 40 watt range, but it's the next best thing. I'm glad I order my FFH with what I wanted. Bear, I too thought about ordering it with a few less options. I was really on the fence about the driver assist items. But I'm glad I got them, same for the NAV. There is one thing I would never order, and that's paint that cost an extra 495.00. To me I could not justify the cost. That 495 buys a boat load of reloading supplies for my 3 gun shoots. I hope you enjoy your new one. Congrats!!!!
  18. I'm really enjoying the particle beam weapon that vaporized tourists and snowbirds here in Florida. Actually, I'm really enjoying Sync and ACC.
  19. Just a comment for the mods. Site advertising without forum sponsorship? Interesting. ptjones, sell 'em before they pull this thread! Good job. If I wasn't in Florida, I would be interested in a set.
  20. No changes for me... Maybe it a MAC problem.. :) Just kidding. I like the new colors.
  21. That's about what I drive to get to my dealer. I will not go to any of the dealers closer. I have had bad service at all 3 of them. The last one I went to, the closest one, damage the front bumper paint changing the headlights on my Focus. That's in additon to getting grease all over both the front and backseats. The marks looked like cat paws. The service advisor actually implied I had a cat that got in my car and did it (my malamutes eat cats, I don't have any small animals anywhere on my property, they have very high prey drives). Turns out they had a hole in one of the service bay walls and a cat was wandering the service area at night and sleeping in cars. The service department did not mention the paint damage or the grease. They were more then willing to let me take the car. I will never go back to them. That's flat out lack of attention to detail and not wanting to pay or fix their mistakes. That's bad practices, and it starts with the service manager not doing his job. Any dealership that screws up a service procedure or does damage to a car does not deserve anyone's business.
  22. Sure there's a big difference. The point was to give B25Nut something to compare it against since he is an aviation enthusiast. He also has some design experience. Have you every flown a fighter? I did for over 20 years. The comparison is the advancement of technology. The auto industry is just starting to add in advancements that have been around for years in aviation. Antilock(called antiskid in aircraft) brakes have been in aircraft for well over 50 years. But they only became common in cars in the last 15 years or so. Heads up displays, again, they have been around for years in aircraft, they are now finding there way into cars and trucks. These are safety systems. Anything that can be done to improve the yohos (as you call them) situational awareness helps. One thing I never had to worry about when flying was the person in front of me slamming on their brakes because they dropped a cell phone or a cup of coffee. I also never had to worry the person next to me drifting into my lane because they were texting. The government is going to regulate what safety features are to be included with a car. Just like they did with the TPS system. The BLISS systems and traction control are next. I feel they are needed because people spend too much time doing other things (eating, texting, putting on make-up, talking to others in the car, talking on cell phones held by hand) to have enough situational awareness to drive safely. One thing I did have to worry about was target fixation and loss of situational awareness during IFR conditions. That's why when flying, instrument scans and looking outside the cockpit is very important. Just like checking your gauges and scanning the traffic and traffic situations outside the car is equally important. Here's a good example for you. I was number 2 for landing at an AFB and had a C-5 land gear up in front of me. Conditions, clear and a million. Cause, pilot and IP error, loss of situational awareness. The pilot was on a check ride, the IP was throwing failures and simulated failures at the crew. One of the things the IP did was to pull the landing gear warning circuit breaker. The crew lost situational awareness while dealing with the failures. The AT controller gave them a check wheels down, cleared to land call, and the crew acknowledged it. The pilot and crew short cut the landing checklist, and they along with the IP, missed the gear was up. With the gear warning breaker open, the aircraft was allowed to land with the gear up. If the gear warning horn went off, they could have gone around. But they ended up attempting a scrape and go that ended up as a gear up, scrape and full stop. So, if you loose situation awareness in your car, these system may help. Otherwise you may end up hurting not only yourself, but someone else.
  23. My forums passwords are different for all. But on the one I mod it is very long, makes no sense, does not contain any characters that make a full or partial word, and has special characters. Besides, you have to access the admin console to get to access to any mod functions. And only a user listed as a mod can do that and you need a separate password in addition to your password to access it. Only the forum admin can elevate member functions. And from what I understand, admin account access needs a hardware key. So even if you guess the admin's password, without the hardware key, it gets you nothing. Is it a pain, yes. Is it secure, yes.
