Ford fuel efficiency update guinea pig testers
Sleddog replied to hybridbear's topic in Fuel Mileage
Since the update I'm getting 50 to 55mpg. Ran the a/c on max until the car cooled off then ran it at 73 the way home. The outside air temp was 94 and the humidity was almost 90%. Got 50.4 on the 28 mile drive home. So my mileage has improved.- 235 replies

Sync summer update Gen2 v3.6 coming
Sleddog replied to 47Minutes's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
The Sync writes a file to the USB that's uploaded to the sync website. Your other vehicle probably did not write the file because it was already on the USB drive. The website should have a way to verify the update without the USB drive. I seem to remember seeing that option when I did the USB verification of the update. -
I just did the procedure and my iPhone 5 iMessages are coming thru on the MFT (that's the only messaging I have). Sync will even read the message. I still can't send messages, shows it fails every time. But that's ok. Just getting them is a plus.

Sync summer update Gen2 v3.6 coming

No new map releases per Sync support. But let us know. It wouldn't be the first time support did not have all the info. Hermans, right again. The OM says the drivers side only -

Hermans, thanks! I was just going to post that I checked the mirror and it does not have that ability. Sometimes it's easy to miss stuff. That's why this forum helps all of us in one way or another. pictures reinstalled. -
Sync summer update Gen2 v3.6 coming
Sleddog replied to 47Minutes's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Update complete. Successfully installed. Nav works with no issues. Although during the update the radio came on and could not be turned off. The passenger side mirror no long does self dim. The rearview and the driver's side works fine. May just be a glitch. We'll see. Paired phone (sounds better than repaired phone!). Sync works. Gonna put my pictures back on it now. -
Sync summer update Gen2 v3.6 coming

If you have the SD nav system, you will need a new SD card for the nav to work after doing the update! I'm on hold right now with them to order one. The website has a link to have one sent to you, but it takes you to the update confirmation page with no way to input information for them to send it. I'm not doing the update until I have a new SD card in hand. UPDATE: I spoke to the support folks and was advised a new SD card is NOT needed if you have a A4 SD version. I've got it on a USB drive and I'm gonna go install it now. We'll see what happens... -
I haven't heard anyone with this problem yet...
Sleddog replied to djminfll's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
I was having some weird issues before Sync quite working and the dealer replaced a steering column module. One of them was the radio and phone sound would stop working after making a phone call. I had to turn off the radio and back on to get to work again. A master reset fixed that issue. Another one was the radio would take a long time to respond to inputs. It would also take up to 10 second to shut off when the car ignition was shut off, or if the ignition was shut off and you pressed the radio off button. -
Thavil, how's your reception with the shorter antenna. I'm on the fence about putting a shark fin on mine. I was looking at the antenna yesterday and something was a little weird. So I check it and sure enough, it was loose. It's tight now.

I have the same issue. The hybrid tech works Monday - Friday. The dealer is 30 plus miles away (I won't go to any of the local dealers because of bad service previously) and I have to either drop off the car the night before or take a day off. I'm hoping they will start scheduling a hybrid tech for Saturdays when they move to their newly built dealership. They did get my update right the first time. But I also double check and verify their work.

MPG ?? After TSB 13B07 - POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) CALIBRATION
Sleddog replied to rvlasek's topic in Fuel Mileage
With the short time I've had the car, I've noticed an increase since the update. -
Pardon the inference. You don't want to be an angry customer. It may even get you ushered out of the showroom and off the lot. All that being angry will get you is an angry response. But being angry will not help make your point. People are less inclined to assist you if act like a person with no self control or have some axe to grind in front of possible customers. Think of it this way and put yourself in the manager's position, you have an angry person on the sales floor making it impossible to conduct business. What do you do? Get him or her off the sales floor. Now that you are off the sales floor and since you have made it clear you do not want to talk rationally, I give you 2 minutes of my best polite listening skills. Tell you I'll look into it and shoo you off the lot. I then make it clear to staff if you come in again not to give you access to me. And if you are doing the angry customer thing again, they are to politely ask you to leave. It's easy for them to paint you as a malcontent with an issue you created by doing something to the vehicle then it is for you to show they are a lousy dealership to the customers in the showroom. And when that happens, you can forget getting any help from the dealer. I hope this clears up any mis-communications in my previous post
-
Be careful how you make your demands. Going into the showroom and stomping your feet will get you no where. It may even get you ushered out of the show room and off the lot. All that acting like an idiot gets you is an idiot's response. Start by sending a letter to the dealership manger with copy to the owner. And send it addressed to the person, signature required. Follow that up with a phone call. Be sure to tell them what solution you propose. Advise them that if a solution can not be found you will escalate it to Ford and the BBB. If all else fails, go to another dealership and explain the issues. While selling cars makes the dealership profit, service is where the money is and warranty work adds up to a stack of cash. If your selling dealership does not want it, another dealer will.

I drive 28 miles each way to work. Some is stoplight to stoplight with a speed limit of 45. The other part is 55 to 60. Friday morning going in without the a/c I got 54+. Going home with the a/c on and accelerating at a good clip (it's friday and I wanted to get home)I still got 48+. It sounds like there is an issue. Maybe she can get the dealer to compare her car against another to verify it. If they are seeing 2 car driven the same with different results, it's hard to just pass it off as normal.
-
Today's stats.... 53.9 going in, 53.6 coming home. The trip is 28 miles each way. I ran the A/C coming home. I've also started using the Empower display. It gives me better idea were car changes over to the ICE. I tend to try and accelerate normally with traffic keeping the kW load under the top of the second segment. That gives me a good rate of acceleration.

I rescue malamutes. My license plate frame says "Save A Friend" "Rescue a Malamute".

I don't put bumper stickers on my vehicles. Now a license plate frame sure. I have one on my Fusion that I got from the place others have mentioned here on the forum. I won't do a window sticker either. Besides, I don't let the dealers put stickers advertising themselves on my car, I'm not going to advertise for a website that gets paid by having ads on it, unless, they are paying me for advertising for them. We advertise for the site, more people come to the site, the owners make more money. We, on the other hand, get to pay for the privilege of advertising for them by placing a sticker on our cars.

Stupid Orange Traffic Barrel!

I've been lucky and haven't had to go south of Palm Bay in a while. I worked in Delray Beach during all the expansion of I-95. That was a real horror show! -
Same for me...

Sorry to hear about your mishap. The construction in Florida is never ending. I can't seem to get a away from it. First I-95, now US 1. -
I got 50.9 this morning going in to work with no A/C, and 48.9 coming home with the A/C blasting as cold as I could get it. Not too bad. I'm not sure if the update helped any. But my numbers are up since I got it.

Here's another one... Just not as far....

That was me. I do this one every trip I run the A/C, in every vehicle I have. It works. Check out this thread. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/5344-cooling-system-stinks-up-car-even-in-winter/
