  1. So the weather is finally warming up here in PA enough to turn on the AC. I turned it on earlier this week and it just blew hot air. I set it to max A/C and the same thing happened. I pulled up the "battery flow" screen and see that the "climate" area is not registering anything. I also can't hear the normally loud compressor. I've tried popping the terminals in the front of the car under the hood. That reset my EV+ locations but didn't seem to help anything else. Is there anything else I can try? I'm taking the car to the dealer for state inspection next week so I can get them to look at it, I'd just prefer to save myself the several hundred dollar bill that the dealer will most likely charge for diagnosing the issue if I can possibly do it myself.
  2. It was just part of their checklist for "The Works" oil change package. You're right it probably wasn't a very thorough test. I have not had any issues since that one day, so I'm content to ignore the issue for the time being.
  3. Yes sorry. I meant to ask those 2013 who weren't having the BS Message issues. I haven't had any of those issues, just this pull over safely one. I know the batteries are weak from all of those threads, so I was curious if others who haven't had specific battery problems have had to replace their batteries within 3 years. In my previous cars, I've been able to get 4-5 years out of a battery. I was just in for the 50k mile oil change last month and they said the battery tested good, but based on some other peoples experiences, I'm not sure I should trust that. I did not receive the message for any the half dozen or so trips I took yesterday, so I guess I'll just keep monitoring it for a while before doing anything.
  4. Yesterday I receive the "Pull Over Safely" message immediately after starting my vehicle. It happened twice. The first time, I shut the vehicle off and restarted it and everything was fine The second time I had to restart the car 4 times in order to get the message to go away. I have not restarted the car since then. If it happens again I will send a VHR to see if that tells me anything. Anyway, it seems that every other person to receive this message got it while driving. Has anyone got it immediately after starting the car like I have? Could it be battery related? I'm driving a 2013 on the original 12v battery. Have others with 2013's replaced their batteries yet?
  5. I take mine to the dealer every 10,500 or so and they've never mentioned anything about it causing a warranty issue. You should be fine.
  6. I've jumped my truck ('96 f150) using the front terminals without any issues. I just followed the instructions in the manual and the truck started right away. No noticeable difference to the fusion battery afterwards.
  7. Mine occasionally comes on if there's dirt or snow blocking the sensor. The alarm only work under a certain speed, so that's why you'd only hear it at a stop sign or light. Make sure your front sensors are clean and see if the sound stops.
  8. I've always been fearful of the type of damage you've taken, sorry to see that happen to you. The front parking sensors on my '13 HyTi typically pick up the parking curbs that are high enough to cause damage. I have the active park assist, which may be a requirement for the front sensors if I recall from earlier posts on here.
  9. There is no PHEV in the Lincoln brand is there? A coworker has the MKS and I enjoy the ride more than the Ford. I would love to get the Energi version of the MKZ if they offered it.
  10. You just need to say "Destination Home" once Home is programmed in. She'll reply by saying "Setting New Destination". I believe you can also do the same for places that you have programmed in as favorites, but it's been so long since I've set one of those up I'd have to play with it some more to be certain. Honestly, I don't find the interface to be all that bad once you learn the quirks. You can skip a lot of the feedback (not all), by chaining commands. "Navigation Destination Street Address" If you're in the current state, she'll just prompt you once for the address including the city. "one zero six zero west addison street chicago" Then she'll say, something about pressing the button to set the destination.
  11. I use "Destination Home" quite often and it works well. But that only works for 1 specific location. I agree in general, the one that I hate is when she asks "Search where?" and you can't reply with a city name, you need to reply with "City" so she can ask "City name?". I use voice commands for navigation quite often and have gotten used to most of the idiosyncrasies. However, searching by name is sometimes a chore since it doesn't seem to find "Hilton Hotel", but searching for "Hilton Resorts and Hotel" works. I've gotten used to using the "Spell Name" feature if she can't find my location on the first try.
  12. That's very disappointing to hear. My car does this too when I take a corner too fast, but that is the worst possible scenario for this to happen. I nearly missed an exit off the interstate and had to quickly turn while braking. The lack of deceleration is certainly a scary feeling that nearly put my wife into a panic attack.
  13. I just had my state inspection done at the dealer and the technician recommended to have my rotors turned because of rust and pitting. By the time they told me this, the vehicle was off the rack so I didn't see for myself, but I'll check it out this weekend. I have 36k on it and a 97% brake score. I can understand a bit of rust, but pitting concerns me. Are there may be bad sets of rotors on some of these 13's?
  14. So what's the verdict of how these handle in the snow? I'm at 32k on the Goodyears and they need replaced. I was hoping to wait until next winter, but I don't see that happening. These Continental's seem to be the go-to's for this community, but I haven't read a snow review for them on here yet.

    MPG Happy Talk

Had my 2nd 47+ mpg tank of the summer this morning: 48.5 mpg for 454 miles and 9.3 gallons. I easily could've made 500 miles but it was the start of a trip fuel prices are cheaper at the starting location than the ending.
