Thanks! Since I went the AIO route I wasn't sure if a base layer of ZFX was needed :) Geremy, where are the pictures?
-
Its a good idea to set your some address as a police station by your house, or just an intersection close to your house. That way if someone steals your car, they wont be able to use the nav to drive to your house :-)
-
Geremy, I hate to say it, but I think you missed a very important step. Before the Z-5+ZFX step you should've applied a layer of ZFZ on its own or AIO. That acts a a primer for Z-5 and without it, Z-5 wont work as advertised. Acdii, do you know if this is correct?

Ford fuel efficiency update guinea pig testers
neod192 replied to hybridbear's topic in Fuel Mileage
The only way to tell if EV+ locations stayed is to drive to one and see if it kicks in. I noticed EV+ doesn't kick in on mine when I go home. There's no way to just reset the lifetime breaking score in the settings. I believe the setting is for both breaking score, MPG and EV miles. A similar thing happened with mine a while ago: Lifetime EV miles got reset somehow.- 235 replies

I asked my dealer to run an OASIS report and that's how they found it. My dealer called it a recall. After three 30 mile trips today I can say that EV at high speeds (70 MPH) will only kick in when slowing down or going downhill. The power demand is just too high for EV to actually kick in on level roads and constant speeds. Overall MPG seems to be the same: 42, 38 and 40. The 38 and 40 were during rain.

I took another short (12 mile trip) this morning, starting with a cold engine. While EV kicked in at about the same place as before, I never saw "Cold Engine" as one of the reasons the ICE was running on the Hybrid screen. Outside temp was about 65F. I set ACC to 45 MPH (speed limit was 50) and has a few stops along the way. I even turned on the A/C just to see where the energy consumption was and it was sitting at the first bar (most likely due to the low outside temp). When I turned on the A/C yesterday it was between the 2nd and 3rd line (outside temp of 75). Total MPG for the trip was 48.5 MPG, which is very close to what I used to get in very similar conditions. I'm going to have four 33 mile trips on the highway later today, so will post those results tomorrow as well. Good news: the update doesn't seem to have broken anything. Bad news: so far it drives almost the same.

I drove the same 2 mile trip again and accelerated up to 87 MPH, then I had to slow down to get off the highway (and my wife was telling me to slow down even though a van had just passed me going close to 100) . The EV was helping the whole time (including over 85), but it didn't go to 100% EV. I'm guessing it was because of the high demand I was on it. I forgot to check the instant MPG to see if it was any higher than 20 .... MPG for the trip (which ended with 1.5 miles @ 55) was 36 ... So does EV typically assist over 62 MPH, or was happening bc of the new software? I can't remember ....

I drove 2 miles on the highway so far. Saw the EV threshold at 75MPH and was even in full EV mode @ 70. Didn't check the other 2 things. When i picked it up my clock was about 10 min slow, EV+ locations were deleted, but the avg mpg wasn't reset. I have a longer (33 mile one way) trip tomorrow, so I'll experiment more.

Ford fuel efficiency update guinea pig testers
neod192 replied to hybridbear's topic in Fuel Mileage
I got the software update, but since I wasn't planning on getting it I didn't do any of the "before" tests. Since I logged my trips and pretty much know how the car handles I'll be able to report on how it improves things :happy feet:- 235 replies

Well, it still does that and it's still really shiny. It just doesn't feel as glass smooth to my hand.

You know ... after washing mine it's not as smooth as it was when I had just put Zaino on it ... My wife's car is still smooth, but I didn't wash it as often as mine. I wonder if my car wash solution is making the Zaino go away (I only put down one layer of AIO and one of Z-5).

Since my car is already in the shop (ready to be picked up this morning) I asked them to check if the software update is available and it is! I guess I'm the first guinea pig to get it :)

I had to go to a graduation party last week in an unknown area. The party was on a lake, I had the address and drove there. The navigation system took my to the other side of the lake! We had to ask Siri for directions, which told us we have to drive all the way around the lake to get to the house/party ... I also tried Google Maps and if I asked for directions from my house to the party it would take me to the correct place, but once I was at the party and asked for directions (to the party itself) it also told me to go around the lake to the other side. Something's really screwy there and I can't only blame Ford for it.

Passenger seat height
neod192 replied to ORRanger's topic in Interior Trim, Seats, Seat Belts & Covers
A few users already did this. They either bought a seat cushion to put on the seat or raised the whole thing, including the tracks by putting a few pieces of wood under it and replacing the bolts (with longer ones) that secure the seat to the car. Do some searches here and on BOF and you'll find the posts and pictures. Link to BOF: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/forum/36-fusion-milan-%26-mkz-forum/ -
My dealer told me the TSB only includes one of each part (4 total) and doesn't mention the "other side" until the instructions where it says the other side can be fixed as well if the problem exists ...

That's because it's working :) Try pulling the fuse for the noise cancellation system (can't remember which one) and you'll be able to hear what you're not hearing now. I read that it's pretty bad w/out it/
