I think he was just asking a question. I'm also curious what restrictor plate racing means...

I actually like my trunk's "battery bump"
hybridbear replied to usererror's topic in 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid
BEV = Battery Electric Vehicle. The Focus Electric already has a cargo organizer, similar to this, that comes standard. -
Active noise control
hybridbear replied to nickmeyerski@hotmail.com's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
There are a number of threads that explain how to do this. Check them out in the Audio section of the forum. -
Front Seats Reclining Themselves

A practical joke by a family member maybe? -

Your hand may be brushing the controls. They're capacitive controls which means if you get too close they activate. Do you bring your hand near the controls? Try keeping your hand in a fist & just press the radio with one finger. Keep your arm back torward the back seat so no part of your fist is near the controls. Or just use voice commands, that might be easiest. "Audio On" & "Audio Off" are the two voice commands I use the most often.

Cool article about Ford's autonomous FFH test vehicles, including pictures. http://arstechnica.com/cars/2015/08/face-to-face-with-fords-self-driving-fusion-hybrid-research-vehicles/

HERE has been sold to Audi, BMW & Daimler. I wonder what this will do to the prices for our Fords to get updates... I wonder if Ford will move to a new supplier.

Info on transmissions (eCVT) that have failed
hybridbear replied to Automate's topic in eCVT / Transmission
We may need to PM some of the members who've had failures who don't frequent the site often as they may not see this thread otherwise. I think ROB281 & GrayStrider both had failures IIRC. Who else? -
TSB 13-5-24 TING/POP/CLICK-TYPE NOISE - FRONT HALFSHAFT
hybridbear replied to acdii's topic in Recalls, SSMs & TSBs
I would find out how much it costs before you take the car in for the work to be done. If it's too expensive you could decide to just live with the noise. There is no drivability concern from this that anyone is aware of. -
So you took 1,941,838,616 and subtracted 16 times what? I'm not quite following the math you did. You can look up your exact build date in ETIS.

The system also cannot read emojis like Siri will. So if you get texts with emojis they are just skipped by MFT. I imagine it would sound hilarious in German...

I agree! I wear size 13 shoes and I usually extend my leg all the way out between the brake pedal & dead man pedal to get comfortable. I find the same thing. When merging onto the freeway or having someone merge toward me the BLIS system will not illuminate the light. Even if you have your mirrors set correctly, as lolder described, cars merging from off to the side (or cars on the highway when you're merging) are beyond the view of the mirrors & the BLIS system. In the Focus Electric we have the little spotter mirrors and it's much easier to merge in it since I can look in the little mirror while coming down the entrance ramp & see cars on the highway. In the Fusion I cannot lean forward enough to do this in the big mirror and must turn my head and take my eyes much farther off the road in front of me. With the Focus with the little spotter mirror I barely have to lean forward, I just have to focus my eyes on the small spotter mirror.

I'd try 40 PSI. Maybe even 44 PSI. That's where we keep our tires in the summer. How much tread life do you have left on them? When it's time to replace them a few forum members have found the tires that seem to deliver better gas mileage than the LS2 tires.
-
I wouldn't ever wait that long. A tire must be seriously under inflated before the TPMS alert sounds.

You have to pronounce any foreign words like the letters would go in English. If I want MFT to call someone from my contacts with a Hispanic name I have to say the name with an English accent. The funniest is when I get texts in Spanish & have MFT read them. Sometimes I can figure out what the text says, sometimes I can't, but it always makes me laugh hearing MFT fail at reading Spanish lol

Besides that, you can also use Sync Destinations for those hard to speak names. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/8759-sync-destinations-app/

Hackers Remotely Kill a Jeep on the Highway
hybridbear replied to hybridbear's topic in News & Reviews
Yes, so GM should have more experience & thus they should do a better job at protecting their connection from hackers. Do you know what type of modem they use? And which cellular network? The Ford EVs use a 2G AT&T cellular modem. The Nissan Leaf does the same. The Kia Soul EV uses a 3G Verizon modem. I'm not sure about other EVs. -
No such experience with our car. You may also want to check out the Fusion Energi Forum.

Hackers Remotely Kill a Jeep on the Highway
hybridbear replied to hybridbear's topic in News & Reviews
You're correct. The only system that these hackers have compromised so far is the Uconnect system which uses Sprint. It appears that they picked this system because they determined it to be especially vulnerable in studying various systems. I didn't know that so many Chryslers had 3G modems in them for Uconnect. I mostly think of internet connected cars as EVs since every one of them has a cellular modem for the online EV functions. -
Ford ESP Canada
hybridbear replied to FernMTL's topic in Owner's Manuals, Warranties and User Guides
Don't forget to factor in the GST savings if you buy in the US. Unfortunately for you the US Dollar is strong now which makes things more expensive for Canadians. -
This would definitely be a concern in the Energi since it has a cellular modem, like the Jeep they hacked into. http://www.wired.com/2015/07/hackers-remotely-kill-jeep-highway/
