  1. Or, better yet, an EV. A local pizza restaurant in Mpls, Galactic Pizza, uses a fleet of EVs as their delivery vehicles. I wouldn't use a 2.0L EcoBoost like the Fusion in the picture... :shift: :spend:
  2. What options are grayed out? Is it the same as what happened to us?
  3. I read this article this morning. I couldn't believe how bad their fuel economy was! They had no idea how to maximize the value of the car. We've been able to get far better gas mileage on road trips in our Energi than we could in the FFH because of knowing how the maximize the Energi's value.
  4. You have Coach, Efficency & History? We only have Power & Settings in our Energi.
  5. The posts for charging the 12V battery are under the hood. Ford says that nothing should be hooked directly to the 12V battery in the trunk because it can interfere with the battery sensor. Check out this thread starting at this post.
  6. This is what I recall too. Way back in January or February 2013 I brought it up & the dealer didn't seem to care.
  7. Do you have the Cross Traffic Alert system on your FFH? It's very helpful in these situations. It will even pick up pedestrians. However, the exact reason you provide is why I prefer to back into parking spaces. I only pull in if absolutely necessary due to traffic when arriving. Although, we usually park so far away that there's no issue with people being inconvenienced if we stop to back into a parking space.
  8. This thread should list all the differences between trim levels. You may find it interesting to see how else Ford differentiates the trim levels.
  9. Wow! That's efficient! In MN you get a notice in the mail when your license is expiring. Then you have to go down to a local service center. The service centers are run by each individual county, so each one is different. Then you complete the paper form with all your info, even if it's the same as your expiring license you have to fill out the entire form again. They then check your eyesight & take a pic. Once the pic is done you pay the fee, about $30, and they invalidate your existing license by clipping a corner. You are then given the third layer of the form you filled out as your temporary license to carry around with your clipped license. The other two copies of the form are kept by the county to go to the state. Then in about 3 weeks to a month you get your new license by mail. Our licenses are valid for 4 years, with the exception of drivers under 21. If you get your license before you're 18 it's only valid until you turn 18. And then the new one is only valid until you turn 21. The license process here is much more efficient than the car title process. When you buy a car it often takes 3-6 months to get your title from the MN DVS. They're very slow... So, where's the picture? ;) :camera: I don't understand the value of a written test. But, I do understand the desire to test older drivers to ensure that they're safe. When our first Light Rail line opened in the mid-2000s, the first fatal accident was an elderly gentleman who was drove around the crossing arms & was struck by a Light Rail train doing almost 55 MPH. After the accident, his family said that they had been trying for months to get him to stop driving because they knew he was no longer safe to drive, but he refused to give up his keys. My parents are in their early 70s now & I have noticed a deterioration in their driving skills over the last 5 years. They both are much more prone to step hard on the brakes in situations when it is unnecessary.
  10. I just watched someone almost hit a new MKC in the grocery store parking lot. The back up lights on the MKC are so tiny that in daylight you can't see them unless you know what to look for. I would be apprehensive about owning one for that reason.
  11. You can send your feedback directly to Ford by sending a Private Message to username Ford Service. Then your feedback can be relayed appropriately. You are not the first to express this sentiment.
  12. I believe the owners who have made the swap have found that the parts are different. The SE taillights do not have the necessary bulbs or wiring.
  13. I'm not so sure that the steering wheel angle is all that important. I think it's more about the difference in wheel speed. I notice it most often when making left turns & slowing down, such as when turning into a parking lot or driveway. The lurch seems to happen between 15-20 MPH based on the graphs I've previously posted. I'll be over at my parents' house tomorrow night & I'll do some testing in their C-Max Energi.
  14. I remember this issue. No way to fix it that we ever found.
  15. That pop up window only turns them off for that one time in reverse, IIRC. Once you shift out of reverse the sensors are back to being active. In the Driver Assist section of the Settings menu on the Left Dash Screen you can turn off the back up senors. Be aware that they will be off all the time then.
  16. I think the Energi has the outer ring lit on both the SE & Titanium. No other Fusion SE has the fancier tail lights.
  17. The dealer claims it is fixed. They're coming to pick me up now. We'll see if it is or not.
  18. Sounds like the panic button was bumped.
  19. More info about how the braking is supposed to work: I believe the issue is a module calibration issue which is causing the friction brakes to not be applied promptly when turning & braking at the same time.
  20. Larry tested with his car & determined that the car is supposed to reduce regen during turns. When turning the two front wheels turn at different speeds. Regen braking slows both front wheels at the same rate. Thus friction brakes are needed when braking while turning since each brake pad can be applied with a different amount of force. The issue appears to be that the brake pads are not being applied quickly enough & thus the surge is felt. The regen braking force doesn't come back for quite awhile according to the graphs. So the brake pads must be getting applied shortly after the sharp drop in regen force. Larry postulated that the issue is different modules being at different software levels which are not compatible. Hopefully that will be all it takes to fix it. With this additional information, I wish acdii was still around to get feedback about this issue with his FFH to help figure it out.
  21. I did some additional testing tonight. I went to the empty parking ramp at work & tested some various scenarios. Low Gear Left Turn Low Gear Right Turn Braking Before Turning the Steering Wheel Turning Before Pressing the Brake Pedal Notice how when using Low Gear to slow down when turning the regen doesn't cut out at 15-20 MPH.
  22. Today I got FORScan working completely with the Energi. I can only log PIDs from one module at a time, but FORScan has a better refresh rate. I logged data from the SOBDMC. I added Wheel Speed Sensors divided by 10 to make them scale better on the chart. This enables you to clearly see when the car is turning. This data was recorded during a right turn. The charts I posted earlier were both from left turns. You can see that the HVB charge rate decreases in proportion with the decrease in torque from the traction motor. The traction motor RPM doesn't show any abnormal values during this time. The numbers along the X-axis are the time in milliseconds since I began streaming data in FORScan. This time, the reduction in stopping power lasted about 4 seconds. This appears to be longer than any other occurrence that I have logged.
