  1. Yesterday at 5:30am when I started my 2015 FFH/43Kmiles, I saw all lights flash brilliantly - outside front, rear and cockpit screens. I thought I was seeing things because the car rolled out of the garage the same as always. After a 10 mile drive and sitting in the sun at 100 degrees, I started back home. The first 5 miles was unusual then the Nav screen said that the SD card was unreadable. I disengaged it and then pushed it in again and - no joy and no nav was available. I tried cycling the SD card installation again when I got home and was parked in the garage. No joy. I planned to take it in today. Prior to starting I took the SD card out but there was nothing out of the ordinary with the card. I reinstalled it and pushed the start button - surprise, the FFH did not give me any warnings. Nav was back and all displays were normal. I am loathe to ask a dealer to troubleshoot without a message. Anyone have a similar occurrence - momentary brilliant light followed by a SD card read issue later.
  2. Just bought a 2015 Fusion SE Hybrid and noticed that the tail lights don't seem to be fully illuminated. The perimeter red portion of the tail lights giving the Fusion its unique style (and visibility, I might add), isnt' lit. I've seen other Fusions driving around, and it seems some are lit and some aren't...which leads me to believe that it is a setting somewhere in the myriad of settings/combinations. Have read the manual where it seems this would be relevant, and can't find anything that indicates why this would be or how to change it. There is only one reference to the settings for the daytime running lights affecting tail light illlumination. Regardless, I turned the daytime running lights feature on and off, and there seems to be no change in the illumination of the tail lights. Presently only the center red tail light illuminates, and it gets brighter when the brake is applied. Anyone?
  3. We need to turn off the rear dome light in our 2010 Fusion Hybrid. Unlike the front dome light there is no on/off switch. Is there a way to do this so that we can leave the back door open for several hours at a time and not drain the battery? (Short of pulling the bulb -- which at least one mechanic has said may not in fact prevent battery drain as a result of something called the Body Control Module (or something like that).
  4. My wife and I have been trying to decide between a Prius V and a Fusion Hybrid to replace our '02 Passat (1.8 T, Manual). To that end, we have rented both for two days each (the V through a Toyota dealer, the FFH through National). Definitely different vehicles and a very tough choice. The FFH feels more like our Passat. But I digress. One thing we noticed on the Fusion was one evening the rear dome light would not turn-off. No matter how many times we unlocked/locked the vehicle, it remained on. I tried unlocking, and toggling the switch on the light. Then closed and locked and it still stayed on. Finally, I unlocked the car, got in the rear, closed the door, locked the car, toggled the switch and the light went out. Then I unlocked, exited, and locked again and it stayed off. Any idea what was going-on? Some sort of software glitch?

In front of the sunroof are the controls for lights and sunroof position.

  6. A couple of my neighbors have witnessed our unattended 2010 FFH's exterior lights come on and the about a minute later, go off. No explaination. They noticed this at night. The other day, my wife noticed the same thing happening as she approached our car in a parking lot during the day. She was about 10 ft from the car and no key was involved. On for a bout a minute, then off. Has anyone experienced this problem or have ideas as to the cause? Thanks for your help.
