  1. I just got my 2013 Fusion Hybrid yesterday and cannot for the life of me get this thing working. I've combed through tons of threads on different Fusion sites including this one and have watched tons of Youtube vids on the thinking that I may just be doing it wrong. I remote start the car, push unlock once then push and hold unlock and nothing happens. I've read 3 seconds and have read up to 10 seconds but I've held for 30 seconds and nothing happens. The lights flash twice as to signal me that the car recieved the command but the windows dont roll down. I've also read that the windows need to have the auto up and down feature and that a reset may be needed. I have that option on both the front and rear windows and have done the reset command but still nothing. I then thought it just may be a model problem but I have the Titanium model and if Im not mistaken that feature comes standard in the Titanium. I have checked my remote start settings in the vehicle and I see a temp option, radio options and every option for remote start but I do not see any window options so that leads me to believe that I don't have the Global Open option but like I've stated, I have the Titanium model so it should be standard. As a side note, I have remote started the car, opened the doors and tried to operate the windows myslef and theres no power to the windows or radio. I've read about the Accessory delay and that that needs to be disbaled in order for the Global Option to work but to my knowledge again, hitting unlock once disables the Accessory delay (which puts me in the car) so the windows SHOULD be operational, which they are not. So, Im all confused and am just not sure if I have the feature, dont have the feature, am doing it wrong etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Hello. I have a Hybrid SE with the stock 6-speaker sound system. I've been reading up on a few forum posts about adding new/better speakers to the standard set. I've come across posts not recommending any non-stock speakers with the active noise cancellation system as it would distort the sound. If that's the case, what speakers are installed in the Titanium hybrid and how does that configuration work? Also, how can I get my hands on the factory speakers originally installed in the Titanium? Thanks.
  3. So I just bought a new 2014 Titanium model. I love the car but I struggling hard with gas mileage. I feel like I'm driving like a grandma and I can seem to crack 32-36 mpg. I've reset the avg mpg trackers and attempted to just roll around my neighborhood but it seems any time I do anything more than a crawl the ICE kicks on. The manual says it should only be coming on with "considerable acceleration." It was an expensive machine so I guess I'm wondering if mine isn't up to par with others (I go through this with every expensive gadget I buy, but usually can find someone else with the same gadget or phone so I can play with it to be sure they're the same). Or is it just because it's cold (although I've been driving around with zero heat, radio or anything else on)? I've tried reading tips and tricks, but after a day of driving and trying different tactics I can't break a 38 avg for more than a mile or 2. I'm sitting here reading that some of you are averaging 45-50mpg and I'm just wondering if it's achievable with my car.
  4. I would. And that's exactly the situation we found ourselves in this week. Let me explain... The recent purchases reported online of leftover 2013 FFHs & FFEs along with 2013 C-Maxes made me curious as to how many 2013s are left new on dealer lots across the country. So I spent a few minutes searching on cars.com and saw that there are still quite a few around. I noticed that a lot of the leftover vehicles seem to be rather basic models, without a lot of the advanced driver assistance technologies. And quite a few of the Fusions have MFT & Nav without many other options. Then I happened upon a loaded Energi Titanium with all the advanced driver assistance options just like we had on the white FFH. Out of curiosity I e-mailed the dealer to see how low they'd be willing to sell it. The prices on cars.com basically all showed just MSRP or only a very small discount. The dealer e-mailed me back and indicated that they were willing to knock about $15k off MSRP (about 33%). I then wrote back to see what they'd give us in trade for our FFH. I decided before I wrote them that the only way we'd do anything is if they were willing to give us $1500 above KBB for the trade. I decided upon this price because it would allow us to get the Energi for free, the tax credit basically equals the difference. Their initial response was right at KBB trade-in value. Before I continue, I want to give you a little background on the dealer. They're a dealer in a small town in Wisconsin, about 4 hrs from Minneapolis. They're not near any big cities. They sell four brands at the one dealer building: Ford, Lincoln, Hyundai & Volkswagen. I had learned at a MNPEVOC (Minnesota Plug-in Vehicles Owners Circle) meeting that you can often find the best deals on plug-ins and battery electrics at small town dealers in the country that get sent a car that they don't know how to sell. A number of the Focus Electric owners in the group got their cars from dealers in rural MN or WI, same story for a few Energi owners in the group. Some of the Nissan Leaf owners also said that they found the best deals by getting a Leaf from a rural dealer rather than from one in the Twin Cities. A Mitsubishi iMiev owner did the same thing. Considering that this dealer has 70 trucks out of 100 new Fords on their lot I figured that they fit the same profile. On Tuesday I told the salesman that they'd have to do better on the trade difference to make it work. He spoke to the used car manager (also the finance manager who did our paperwork today, very small dealer) and offered another $1000 for the white FFH. I asked if I could discuss it with my wife and call him back Wednesday. After we agreed Tuesday night that we'd do it only of they'd give us another $500, I called the salesman and told him that on Wednesday morning. He said he'd ask and e-mail me. Less than 5 minutes later he e-mailed me and said they'd do it. Today we drove about 4 hours (220 miles) each way to Wisconsin and picked up the Energi Titanium. After the tax credit we will have paid less than $500 for the new Energi Titanium. And about $30 in gas total to drive 440 miles today. It was really incredible!! And I encourage anyone who's looking for a new FFH to consider one of the leftover 2013s because you can probably find a dealer who's desperate to get the car off their lot.
  5. I'm sitting in my driveway awaiting the arrival of my new 2014 FFH. My brother owns a 2011, we're gonna have an mpg battle! I Would love any recommendations as to add ons, accessories, precautionary care, keeping it looking new, etc. I'm extremely excited as this is my first brand new car and I've been absolutely in love with them since I layed eyes on the 2013 for the first time. I never like the look of the first version at all, although it is still as beautiful on the inside. And a great car all around. Please comment and let me know anything and everything! I've already done a lot of research and review reading over the last 4 months. First question, anyone know the total watts of the premium stereo system in the 2014 titaniums?
  6. So I called Crutchfield about adding a subwoofer system to my wife's 2014 Fusion Titanium Hybrid. She has had large systems in her last few vehicles, and does not want to stop here. However, a discussion with Crutchfield left me with some pretty disapointing information. He informed me that if I wanted to add an amplifier, it would have to be 350 watts or less, and a fuse no larger than 30 amps. That is a HUGE disappoinment, as the system we had designed was roughly 2400 watts rms. (Yes, she likes it LOUD.) Please tell me that the gentleman at Crutchfield is incorrect! Gary
  7. The manual and the left control screen seem to suggest that I can have the remote start also heat the seats, but I can't find how to make that happen. The screen does not appear to allow it. Suggestions?
  8. I'm less than impressed with the steering wheel in my new HyTi. It is leather wrapped and all, but feels too thin in my hands (and my hands are not too big..).. There small areas on each side that are thicker which is where I guess most people hold the wheel as they drive. I would swear that the steering wheel on the car I took out for a test drive before I bought mine had a better steering wheel (more substance to it). Here's a pic. IS this what the HyTi should have installed?
  9. I have to say that seeing the pics of the new HyTi cars and hearing about it makes me a bit jealous that we didn't wait for the Titanium. I went through and compared the features per ford.com and definitely think that the HyTi is worth the $2500 price premium :spend: over our Hybrid SE for the additional features it would have. If Ford had made HyTi's available in the very beginning I'm confident that we would have spent the extra money for the Titanium. However, at the time there was very limited information from Ford about the HyTi features and there were not even hardly any gas Ti's to look at to see features. We also ordered in October hoping to get our car in December and we didn't want to wait until April to get a HyTi. Now I kind of wish we had... Anyone else with an SE Hybrid feel the same? :doh:
  10. I have to say that I love my FFH Energi! We went to the auto show to look at the C Max and any other plug-in hybrids. Unfortunately, they all seemed to have the feel of the Prius, or had thin plastic parts that wouldn't last. My son pointed out that the Fusion Energi was an electric hybrid and it was llove at first sight! The seats were comfortable, the cabin was spacious, and the styling was incredible. It was definitely on our top favorites list of the day, (after the Aston Martin and before the Mercedes SLK). We drove a FFH the next day and put a deposit on a Sterling Gray Titanium Energi with all the options. Fortunately, the dealer already had one ordered that was built on March 15th. We've had it for a week and absolutely love it! The adaptive cruise control and lane keeping systems are incredible. Of course the ride is quiet when in electric mode, but even when in Hybrid mode the engine is smooth as it switches from gas to electric and back. Our main reason for purchasing was for the technology and to become more familiar with the Hybrid. Most of our drives are local, so it is easy to charge it and return with using little or no gas. On a local trip to the city and back we have been averaging 84 to 97 mpg so it a car that fits with our needs. I love this forum and have been checking several times a day for new posts and comments, so I'm honored to learn from your experiences and knowledge.   17. I have a Fusion Titanium Hybrid on order since Feb 19th. After spending some time with a Ford cust rep on the site chat, they sent me an email from Ford as well as a brochure in the mail. The email includes a $750 private Cash coupon. But the fine print reads "2011/2012/2013 vehicles: $750 on a Ford or Lincoln vehicle. Not available on hybrids, ... May not combine with other private or commercial offers, owner loyalty and lease renewal programs. A/Z/D Plan ineligible. ... Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 05/14/2013." A few things here that called my attention.. Why would they send me a coupon that does not work on hybrids?.. They knew I ordered a hybrid.. Then the note on retail delivery from dealer stock suggests the coupon does not work if you ordered your vechicle?? Any recommendations on what to do to find out whether this coupon is good for my HyTi or not? Any help you guys can provide is greatly appreciated.
  18. I'm wondering if it would be smarter to lease or buy my new Fusion when it arrives in April? Equity, payments, realized gas savings, taxes etc. are NOT the considerations as pointed out in most "Lease or Buy" sites. Here are the considerations I'm hoping this community will weigh in on: With all due respect to Ford, this is a new vehicle and 36 to 48 months from now, there is NO question technology will have changed, and in a resale this wonderful new 2013 FFH may look "old" and 47 (or so) MPG may be less impressive. Part of me says it would be great not to have a car payment (through paying cash), but on the other hand, I should would like to have the ability to slide into a new 2016 or 2017 FFH (which may even have a body style change) without having the worry of disposing of the depreciated 2013. My previous experiences with imports are that those manufacturers incent owners to stay with them at the end of a lease, either by flipping them into a new similar model with no penalty on the lease and/or fees to stay with the make. Is Ford good with encouraging their customers to stay with them at the end of a lease? Do any of you have experience with previous Hybrids (Prius?) and how they hold their value? Thanks for your help. I think this will be a good discussion for all of us considering options to pay for our new FFHs.

  20. It seems most of our Titanium Model Hybrid orders are stuck in unscheduled status, with no dealer having been able to explain why to Forum Members. Is anyone out there in a position to get information directly from Ford?
