MPG Happy Talk

Recommended Posts

Nope wasn't me but there are quite a few RR Fusions around in the area and at least two FFH that I have seen.

Unfortunately I won't post any happy low MPG pictures from today since we only got between 37 - 39 MPG driving south on I-75 with destination Orlando.

It still makes for a happy smile when thinking about the conversation my co-workers had yesterday with 31 - 34 MPG in their Audis 2.0T and thinking that's awesome.

Well although NOT my HyTi, still VERY Happy MPG, Returned from my Toledo RC show this weekend and took the MKT. What a pleasure to drive, not once did I feel the need to have to stop to stretch, only stops were made for FPG.

Had this tank over 26, but missed the 80/94 detour and wound up on the skyway and heavy crapcago traffic.

Not bad for a 365 HP AWD 4800# CUV.

That's better MPG than my old car got, and it was a small car.

Finally some good numbers from the white FFH. Today the temp ranged from 69 this afternoon to 58 this even for my trips. I averaged 56.9 MPG for the day (about 25 miles total) with a mix of city driving, freeway driving & stop-and-go traffic. This was the best trip:

My lifetime mpg just upped too 47.1 at 22,200 miles, continuing to climb. Current weather, temps in the upper 60's to lower 70's, very helpful as current tank running at 51+ mpg.Have seen 70 mpg on some commutes of 18 miles. Love this car!

I got 44, I'm happy, 1 MPG higher than my expectations. Wont be long now until they replace the benzine with gasoline, then I can start adding back to fuelly. I didn't bother with a winter fuelly, I already know how crappy it will be, but warmer weather driving is what I like to keep track of.

Well this surprised the hell out of me today. My usual drive home.

Hey imagine 51 or 52 if you learned how to brake properly, hahahahahaha

Ha fricin Ha. :) Victim of Circumstance! Part of that was through Crystal Lake where 2/3rds of the drivers are morons, and swerve in front just so they can get to the next light first, then slam on the brakes. Happened twice with 48% brake scores for me. Brake scores are the least of my concerns, for some odd reason I can go down the same hill time after time, and have 100% one time, and 68% another, yet my brake pressure never changes. It just depends on how much charge is in the HVB, some times it is near full so regen isnt as strong. When the pack is low, I can feel it regen more, which gives me a higher score. Other times it feels like it isnt slowing down, so I give it a touch more then, wham, service brakes kick in. I just say, well better luck next time. As long as I get over 40 MPG everyday, I'm happy with it. Every so often though I get a pleasant surprise, and yesterday's was nice. Not having some Bubba riding my butt helps too. There is always some moron in a Jeep of some kind or another who is inch's off my bumper and wont pass. Funny thing is I leave them way behind on the S curves. This Car handles curves wonderfully, 65-70 MPH through the curves, where the 2010 had problems at 60.

Love my Fusion!

HB, the eagle eye!

Yes, rolling hills with a few 'not exactly mountains' and lots of elevation changes.

It's fun to maximize the mpg's in that type terrain.

Drove the TiHi from central Illinois to Atlantic City and back last week. 2009 miles, including interstate @ 75+ mph, across the prairie and the mountains and some city driving while we were there. Averaged out to 38.8 mpg, with the car computer showing 39.1. I now have just over 4,2000 miles on the car. I pulled my grill blockers out before the trip. I made the same trip a couple of years ago in my 2010 Merc Milan Hy and got 33 mpg. I miss that big gas tank that was in the Merc.

Looks like it's time for another happy MPG post. Took an easy drive to the airport and was driving like I normally do which is obeying the speed limit plus change.

Over the last couple days I have been consistently getting 47+ MPG to and from work but this one was worth a post :)

I'm loving my 36 mile commute to work each day, especially since I can drive alone and still use the carpool lane, thanks to my HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) sticker.

With typical south Florida traffic, the carpool lane lets me do a consistent 60mph, one of my most favorite speeds in the FFH. My typical mpg is 47-51 mpg each way. My last few tankful mpg's have been 46.8, 45.9, and 47.1 on my last fillup.

I know some here remember all my ranting regarding the first car, which pretty much has been proven to be the issue. So you have never heard me complain about my Hyti MPG even though it isnt anything like what others get. However, I don't try to maximize, satisfied with the 38-43 its been getting.

Well today I actually tried.

Very pleased with the results.

10012636_710457212329749_694471023802013

Would have been over 47 had I not hit a wall of traffic.

1941332_710457208996416_6472526578610053

While not nearly as good as some others have posted, for the roads I travel on, this is exceptional! I think CC will agree since he traveled my direction a couple times. Whats funny is I have 6 fewer EV miles, 1% lower brake score, yet 1.5 MPG higher than the last time I snapped a pic of my trip.

Edit, I forgot to mention that its only 46* this morning so heat was on too.

New update... Lifetime MPG is now 51.5 I've got to remember to take some pictures of the great trips I've had recently so I can post them. Had a 35 mile mile trip with an MPG of 81 the other day.

One of the early 2013 FFH member's way back in 2012 was named 'Coach' and he got outstanding mpg's.

He gave us something to shoot for until we found out he had the football team pushing the car everywhere.

In the same way, I suspect your Sleddog's are somehow involved in your outstanding mpg's. Just sayin'... :)

OTOH, you must be a great driver with a really good FFH, congrats!
