Dang man, sorry to hear that. I do highly recommend a test drive in another machine, would be really cool if you could get with someone who owns one which is known to be good. I'm sorry I live so far away.

Those of us getting the sucky mpg could also join the class action lawsuit ... its an option if the mileage doesnt get better

The ticket on this one is still open with the dealer. Ford basically told him, release the car to the customer and have him drive it and see if the CEL happens again.

Hit 1000 miles today. Over all MPG is 38.7. Slowly coming up. The outside temps are not helping, low 20's. Warmer weather would be nice.

I know I'll never average 47 mpg. To do that I think you would have to drive at a maximum speed of between 55-58 mph. I think doing that would give the Fusion a bad image as all the other drivers pass you. I anticipated my driving habits giving me 40 mpg, and that's what I've been getting this week. If there is no one behind me, I accelerate slower from a stop so that the Fusion stays all electric, but I'm not going to do that if it holds up traffic behind me. I've been trying to limit my maximum speed to 70 mph, which is probably where I should have been before my Fusion.

I don't know that you'll never get to 47 MPG. Here's the actual test cycle and you'll notice there's considerable time over 55. The link is also attached. Don't be fooled by the average speeds. See the actual speed / time chart below the criteria chart. There are actually one of each of these for every test schedule.

Got 66.6 mpg on the trip from work to downtown - that's about 45 minutes of driving, some at freeway speeds (32.4 mile trip). Wish I'd had my camera ready to take a picture of the display! Gassed up last night. 39.1 mpg on the last tank, getting better as I get better at driving hybrid.

Today I drove from the Philadelphia area to Fairfax, Va and back - 147 miles each. On the trip this AM @ 30 degrees I got 45.7 mpg. On the trip back @ 50 degrees I got 43.6 mpg. I'd say mine is working just fine and I am in no way a hypermiler. Travel was all on I-95 and the 495 beltway. Still no issues with MTF 3.5.1 and navigation.

I just received delivery of my fusion the other day. It took 10 weeks for it to get here. I've been reading all of the posts on here for some time. So I will say that I was somewhat concerned regarding the mileage that some of you reported. I traded in a Prius so I normally always got 45mpg average on a tank of gas.

 

I've only driven a little less than 150 miles but my lifetime average is at 42 mpg, it raises almost every time I drive, and most trips are very close or over the 47 mpg mark. The only exception is short trips...but in general short thrips do not do well on a hybrid. My commute to work is slow interstate traffic, more of the miles are at moderate driving and not commuting so far. I have probably been watching the empower screen a little to much while driving to make sure I'm in EV as much as possible. The drive system is different than the Prius so I need to get used to it. I'm kind of tempted to turn off the empower screen to see how I do.

 

Overall I am very happy with it. I chose the silver color with dune interior and MFT. After getting the windows tinted it's perfect. I just need to get used to the larger size. It is much nicer than my Prius and I love how quiet it is. I always thought the Prius had lots of road noise.

 

I live in Florida where it has been in the 80s everyday this week. I also have the standard 17 inch rims/wheels. I have noticed it seems to loose speed much faster when I coast when compared to the Prius. Maybe this will improve with tire ware.

Really looking like the problem has been solved and so hoping it is. Trip in today, in fog and rain, and lousy traffic, still managed to get 42.3, overall brake score 96%, ended the trip with all coach bars solid blue. Previously I had been able to keep all 3 bars solid blue but only saw about 36-38, now seeing in the 40's like I was expecting from day 1.

 

Keeping my fingers crossed that it was the plugs all along. Hoping Nick can get his resolved too, I sent him some information that hopefully his dealer can use to look into his problem.

A good day for me too, 3rd day of commuting... thought it was 61 miles each way, actually 60. 41.4 on the way to work, 46.1 on the way home. But still can't beat coach.. wow you are 'legit'!!

Yep Spark plugs. Verdict is still out, but being optimistic on it.

I drove 4.some miles and got 128 MPG. took a pic of it too, pretty funny since up to that best I saw was 38.
