2013 Hybrid MPG Results

Recommended Posts

Using my graph You are getting the mileage you should be getting at that temp. Add 8mpg and you are right where you should be.

I don't think your are going to get any better MPG's with es300h according to Fuelly.com

ive already test drove it on a cold start 35f weather and I got 38.5. Close enough for me. I rented a 2013 dodge caravan today for something I need the space for . Its epa estimate was 17c 25hw. I did about 300 miles of hw today and got 23.1. Again close enough for me since I was driving 55-80mph w. Heat and ac on to clear the humity also there were 6 people in the car. Edited by Fynack

Just checked fuelly for the es300h and most are in the range of 35 to 39. Which is alright by me considering its rated at 40/39. If the fusion got 40-45 id be happy

The Hyundai uses LiPo batteries, which have similar properties to Lion as far as temps. Havent heard of temp problems with their packs. Their problem was fudging the tests.

Got 56 driving home tonight. Kind of extreme since i only went like 35-40 mph because there was no traffic at 3am, but it was 32 degrees out. Just filled up for the first time with 11.1 gallons.

Does that number include your heat up? At 32f it would have taken you 5 minutes or atleast 2 to 3 miles to heat uo to even be allowed into ev mode. What was your tank average?

That's awesome. I've gotten high mileage like this in the city too. You can see that you drove about 3/4 of your miles in EV mode, that makes a huge difference. On the highway you get a lot less time in EV mode and that lowers your MPGs. Hopefully you're seeing high mileage all the time.

Car was warmed up already from before i filled up. Tank average was only 35. I was driving on a two lane highway, 55mph zone. Still only went 35-40. No stops.

I actually drove the first 3 miles or so on ev and the trip average was over 120mpg. Settled in the 55-60 range though after some charging though. I cant wait for warm weather.

Need to dust that dash acdii :hysterical3:

Oh how I wish it would warm the freak up! There is so much I need to do on both cars! I have my Zaino all set to go, have a rear spoiler for my 2010 I need to paint and install. Had it over a year now and haven't touched it. Both cars need a clay bar and polish, need floor mats for the 13, and a spoiler for it. I also need to keek the wife into gear to get the 10 cleaned up. It needs tires too.

Hurry up Spring!

This is what im talking about

Just traded in my fusion last night because my new ES arrived. First drive home from the dealer in my 2013 Lexus ES300h. No hypermiling techniques, not even coasting much, im just driving sensibly. 45f and mostly evening out on the ups and downs of the road, cruised as much as possible and maintained speed. Cold start, no ""break-in"" considering i only have 21 miles on it and I beat "EPA estimates" easily. This morning it was about 43f and I drove off and before I left my neighborhood (maybe .1 mile) the temp of the engine allowed me to get into EV mode. Also this car coast like a dream so I will be adding that to my driving habit. The fusion did have a smoother ride and the rear seats folded down but I wont be missing it at all. And yes I lost a boat load of money on the trade in but I will be joining the class action to hopefully get some back. So this is my fair well to Ford and good luck with your fusions.

I wish you the best with the Lexus and I hope you don't get a dime in the lawsuit because it is baseless and unfounded.

"baseless and unfounded" sounds like it came straight from Ford legal. Even if you agree with the EPA estimate and mileage may vary statement that Ford kept giving out how do you know that its baseless and unfounded? Did you comb through the EPA test that Ford did? I did read that there is portion of the EPA test that requires testing in 20f weather... did they do it right? I dont know .. thats why we hire lawyers to comb through to see why our mpgs fall short. I though we all agreed that cold weather, bad coasting, and heat retention were problems in the fusion but now people from PA to Canada are saying their getting 47 or better? Theres obviously some major discrepancy in this forum when it comes to honesty. Also you CAN NOT defend Ford for building a car to make these numbers, they chose 62mph ev capable for a reason and it wasnt fuel economy. I know youll say "but its not illegal" if there was no EPA car manufacturers would do some actual testing and report near actual numbers because they could be sued by anyone. But they have the "EPA Guidelines" to hide and engineer behind and screw customers. Instead of the 5 years it usually take to make a hybrid worth it, based on your cars average of 38-39mpg in cold weather, itll take you 7 years because you wont see the 47 all year long. You cant say your not getting screwed can you??

Got 42.5 in my fusion today... including warmup, heater on, and some 65 mph driving.

Would love to see a video so the people who arent getting the decent mpgs can see how to drive correctly. Also does your car come with a block heater? Their standard in Alaska and Canada but dont know about your state.

Hi folks I have been reading this forum for a couple of weekswith great interst as I hae a 2013FFH WITH ABOUT 3200 MILES. Now I live in a chicago western burbalong the fox river, mildly hilly with temps of 15-35 on anygiven day. When i got the car i reall didnt watch the mileage as all advice was

break in period 1-3 K miles.

Now I have learned to drive differently the speed limit,no quick starts,a more conststant speeds, and the use of hybrid driving technics. Now my old car was a trouble free volvo S40 T5 tturbo 220 hp 4dr compact got a bout 25-28 mpg depending on my driving full tank about 400 miles with a 16 gal tank.

My FFH is mid sized nicer better looking. It fills up at 11 gals and will currently go 490 miles to empty.

My current stats; LIFETIME 'HISTORY EV 1686

REGEN 206

Brakescore 94%

last tank MPG 46.35

life time mpg 38.5 and rising

In short I am happy so far, nicer car, twice as big sort of ,goes as far as my other car,has 21st technology, kind of a classic look will look great 5 yrs from now,and the "car experts" are gushing all over it and lastly or firsrtly the insurence gruop have given it a A+ rating.Sounds good to me

The EPA is already investigating to make sure that Ford followed protocol. At this point we are assuming that they did. Based on the assumption that Ford didn't mess up the EPA cycles then your lawsuit has no merit and is a demonstration of what is wrong with America and this "sue-happy" society. Anytime someone is unhappy they think they can sue. You make me sick when all you do is... :stirpot: stir the pot of discontent

Its still a sad looking circle... Why does the 2010 even get better mileage? I dunno something fishy is going on. Law suits, EPA investigations, no one really getting even 47 MPG.... Something up.
