Your car has rear heated seats?
-
oh ha, I guess I'm glad it only made it to 1 degree around me.
-
I don't know if the MyFord Touch System can register anything below 1 degree. :)

Just picked up a pair of these for about $110 on ebay, haven't installed them yet cause we just had a lot of snow and I need to clean the floor first. Right of the bat I noticed you need to be careful handling these, they are using these very sharp points to hold them in place. I've already stabbed my finger a few times taking them out of the box to look at. Once I get them in I will post an update.

Whats the point? (Composite Hookups)
Howie411 replied to Howie411's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Ok, fine maybe some devices still have composite hookups, but at least also put an HDMI (which is also pretty much standard these days) on it. -
Ford prides themselves in having the latest and great technology, so why do these cars have (Red, Yellow, White) composite hookups? I think the only device I still own that even supports that may be my original WII. Why not swap that with an HDMI, DVI or Component? What could they possibly thought someone would hook up to that in 2013? My 2010 FFH played DVD's from the CD/DVD drive on the NAV screen which was awesome, not sure why they got rid of that.

Anyone get one of these for a Darkside color fusion yet? Interested on how it looks. Also does it mess with the HD radio reception at all?

Text Messaging Now Working on My Galaxy S3
Howie411 replied to Barsoom's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hi Kim, Thanks for the info, but that is basic troubleshooting steps. (I work in IT and tell folks this all the time) The point is we shouldn't need to soft reset the phone every so often to get this feature working. Its obviously a bug with the Sync system. -
Text Messaging Now Working on My Galaxy S3
Howie411 replied to Barsoom's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
The Text Messaging on the My Ford Touch is very unreliable. I have an HTC One and my Wife has the HTC EVO LTE. One day text messaging works and one day it doesn't its so random. (my HTC one has 4.3) and her phone has 4.2). Even weirder sometimes text messages work (receiving them) but when you try to send them it says your device isn't supported. -
HD Radio not working?? ('14 Fusion Hybrid Titanium)

Daytime Running lights?
Howie411 replied to Ric's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
Just got my DRL turned on for my '14 FFH Titanium. Was having my HD radio fixed and asked them to turn it on. The service tech looked at me and said he didn't think my car had them. I handed him a print out of where they were in the system from one of the other posts. Anyways when I got my car an hour later they HD radio was fixed and the DRL were on. -
I wanted to bring this up because I find it interesting. I previously had a 2013 Ford Escape, but recently switched to the 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid. My wife just got a 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid a few weeks ago. The interesting thing is all 3 of the steering wheels have different features and or buttons in different locations. The Ford Fusion wheel actually looks the nicest, and the C-MAX and the Escape are very similar. So all 3 wheels have 4 way directional on each side, but the Fusion design makes it the easiest to access them. (in my opinion). Only the Fusion has a Mute Button (this is a nice feature). Only the Escape has a Home and Information Button. The Escape has a very large voice/chat button that you pull inwards. Anyways what I'm trying to get across is, I don't understand why Ford doesn't take 1 that works and use it across all their cars. Take the Fusion one which again I think is the best, add the missing Home and Info buttons to it and maybe the larger voice button and you could have the perfect wheel.

Can I lock the keys in the car with the car turned on?
Howie411 replied to DarthHobbit's topic in Alarms, Keys & Remote Start
A few weeks ago I was trying to figure this out myself. I was doing a 5k and I wanted to leave my keys etc in the car. But every time I tried to lock the door the car yelled at me cause the keys were inside. What is the point of having a keypad on the door to unlock the door if I'm always stuck with the keys.... -
So I got a 3 year 45,000 mile maintenance plan from Ford (Long story but it was free). It says on it 5k intervals on it. Isn't the Hybrid every 10k on oil change etc? Does this mean I just need to go more often (since Ford is paying for it)? What other benefits am I getting from this plan other then oil changes and tire rotations.

HD Radio not working?? ('14 Fusion Hybrid Titanium)
Howie411 replied to GiosHS's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
FYI, my salesman just emailed me a copy of this letter (see attachment). My favorite part is where it says, "in interest of customer satisfactions". Ummm you had a mistake when building the car, you should be fixing it no matter what..... Info - Recall - HD Radio - Fusion & MKZ.pdf -
HD Radio not working?? ('14 Fusion Hybrid Titanium)
Howie411 replied to GiosHS's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Is there a TSB #? Calling my dealer and telling them I saw their is a fix on the forum doesn't seem to work to well. :) -
Well Safelite just left, unfortunately he said they were just surface chips, so he can fill them, but I'd still be able to see them they just wouldnt ever get any bigger. So he went ahead and did that, still sort of depressing. He also said "Wow this window would be very expensive to replace". I'm guessing because of all the senors, rader, camera gadgets etc.
-
congrats on the car, just wondering if you got a fully loaded SE doesn't that just bring it close to the price of a titanium?
-
Geico is sending Safelite out Thursday to hopefully patch the chips.
-
Only 700 miles on my car and a huge rock hit the front window today and put 2 pin sizes chips in the bottom of the window. Hard to see if your not looking for them but now that I know they are there I keep eyeballing it! Dump trucks should not be allowed on the highway if the stuff they are carrying is not secure.

I've looked at a lot of other car makers GPS systems and as much as I hate to admit it, Ford has one of the best. Most of the others I have seen look like they are from 5 years ago. They are mostly 2D and look like they have a whole 8 bit color. At least the Ford NAV has a 3D view option, 3D buildings and nicely integrated (love how the volume on the radio lowers when it speaks the next direction). If Ford would just implement some better Map upgrade process it would be almost perfect. $200 for a map upgrade almost once a year is total BS. My portable garmin cost $250 and has lifetime updates (coming from Navteq, same company Ford uses) and gets 4 updates a year for free.

Night driving in rain: awful film won't go away!
Howie411 replied to Noel's topic in General Discussion
So I know this is an old topic but last week I was driving for the first time with my new FFH during a light rain storm at night and I could barely see out my window. I literally was going like 5-10 mph and half the time I couldn't tell if I was in the lane. I dunno if the wipers just suck, or the angle of the window or the carwash I got a few days ago with their "clear coat" on the window. I'd never had this issue during a drive before and the area I was in I've been on 100's of times in the rain and snow. -
Windshield Wipers loud?
Howie411 replied to Howie411's topic in Electrical, Gauges, Instruments, Lighting, Rear View Mirror
Its weird, it seems like on the downward stroke it makes the most noise. (it sounds like the noise when they go back into sleep position) Though if I turn them on super fast I don't hear them at all.
