Ok, odd not sure why this post showed up blank the first time. Lets try again.http://www.ford.com/ngbs-services/resources/ford/fusion/2014/featurecategories/fsn14_feat_technology_blis.jpg What is the icon directly below the BLIS icon on this Ford Fusion Hybrid Picture. Also anything think the thin double edge on the drive side (side mirror) is a bit distracting? What purpose does that serve. It looks like a mirror within a mirror.

So had the first FFH 2010 model, had it for 3 years and then switched to a 2013 Ford Escape, obviously a bad idea, I realized how much the full economy stunk! Anyways ended up trading in the Escape yesterday for a Darkside 2014 FFH Titanium. I was going to wait another 2 weeks to get the Job2 (this car was built late Oct) but I'm impatient. :) Add Ons: Drive Assist Package Active Park Assist Adaptive Cruise Control Moonroof /w Garage Door Opener Navigation Rear Inflateable Seatbelts MSRP was $38,305. I used the Xplan PIN so I wasn't able to do any price negotations on the car itself but I did manage to get an extra $1400 over KBB on my trade in. I also had the $750 private cash, $500 Ford FFH discount and $200 dealer loyalty discount. My only beef which the purchase process was the Ford Dealership I always buy my cars from has what they call a VIP price, they listed it at 32,359. Of course some how that price is actually more expensive then the X-Plan price when you figure in extra fees (seems pretty shady of the dealership if you ask me)

Still using the stock tires with about 12k miles on them.

So I'm pretty impressed, just drove home from work (took 6 1/2 hrs) because of a snow storm we had in the middle of the day and my FFH handled very well. Only 2 times ever did my car get stuck (once on a high hill, and i was able to quickly rock it off) and once pulling into my drive way through a huge pile of snow. I saw numerous cars spun out all over the place. So nevertheless I'm impressed with how well it handled. Though I'm sad to report my average MPG for that drive was about 15 (for 22 miles) I did smell some burnt rubber a few times, hopefully I didn't ruin my tires.

So in the last few days I've had a weird smell coming from the AC vents when the heat is on. Doesn't matter if its the bottom vents or the top vents. Almost smells like a wet dog/tire smell. I had this problem with my old Pontiac G6 but it was when the AC was on not the heat. Any ideas? The car is about 1 year old.

So I know when I had my mini cooper, they always had software updates to the CVT system, of course you couldn't just ask for them unless there was a problem with your car. I'm wondering if there are different versions of software between the 2010, and 2011 FFH, maybe that tweaks the EV system to be more efficent, or changes stuff like when we had the break "partial recall" Obviously I'd be surprised if the software didnt change slightly between versions.

Any Android / iPhone Sync Issues (e.g. Evo 4G)?
Howie411 replied to MikeS's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I have t he same issue, also had it with my LG lotus but not my HTC Touch Pro 2, I emailed sync and got the following email: Thank you for your email in regards to SYNC. Please complete a master reset to SYNC and a soft reset to your mobile phone, Once the reset is complete re-pair your phone with SYNC. A master reset allows you to completely erase all information stored in SYNC (all phone book, call history and text message information as well as all previously paired phones) and return to the factory default settings. To perform a master reset: Note: To scroll, press SEEK or the Up/Down arrows. 1. Press the Phone Button to enter the PHONE MENU. 2. Scroll repeatedly until SYSTEM SETTINGS appears in the radio display. 3. Press OK to enter the SYSTEM SETTINGS MENU. 4. Scroll repeatedly until ADVANCED appears in the radio display. Press OK. 5. Scroll repeatedly until MASTER RESET appears in the radio display 6. Press OK. SYNC will ask you to confirm the reset. 7. Press OK to confirm. The radio display will read ALL RESET. SYNC will take you back to the ADVANCED SETTINGS MENU I would recommend performing a soft reset on the phone. To do that, remove the battery from the phone while the phone is still powered on. Then re-insert the battery and power the phone back on. Sometimes the Bluetooth Link in the phone will freeze when the phone is left on all the time, and will not allow the Bluetooth connection to work properly. By resetting the phone, it will reset the Bluetooth, and then allow it to work normal. " I haven't tried it yet, on a side note, there is like 4 phones that actually support txt to speech to sync on that list and they are all really old phones. Not sure why no new ones support it. -
Ok, bit the bullet and ended up buying a 6 year 60,000 mile warranty (0 Deductible) from FordFactoryPlans.com for $665. Seems like a good deal, and if I don't keep the car that long, its transferable.

Did you just report it to your dealer? I guess the more times they hear about it the better.

Does 2011 Fusion GPS speak street names?
Howie411 replied to MikeS's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
The 2010 does, so I'd assume the 2011 does. -
So I ran over to the Dry Cleaners and I pulled into a spot, put the car in park and ran inside (my g/f was still in the car so I didn't turn off the motor). Got back in the car like 5 minutes later, put the car in reserve and when I stepped on the pedal the car went forward. I thought I was going crazy, so I tried again, same thing. This time I put the car in park, then back to reverse and the same thing happened. At this point I turned off the car completely and restarted it and reverse worked. I don't even understand how this is possible. Anyone have this happen?

Not to highjack this thread, but since its about floor mats, I purchased the All-Weather Ford Fusion Mats from Ebay, the guy stated they were 2010 mats. I have a 2010 FFH, on the bottom of the drivers side mats are 2 holes my car only has 1 hook in it, and it doesn't fit the hole closest to it (since it doesn't go completely through. Any ideas?

Got my car washed today and I noticed a spot on the top of the door/window area that looks like a shadow (see attached picture) at a close look almost seems like a dark finger print. I can rub the area and it doesn't feel any different. Any suggestions on what it may be and how to clean the area up? Thanks

My FFH turns 1 in Oct. I'm very much considering buying an extended warranty before 1 year (since the price will go up after). On www.buy-ford-warranty.com I can get 6 years 60k miles for $545 ($50 ded) or $675 ($0 ded) for Premium Care. Now just some background. I've never kept a car more then 3 years, but this one I might (just because I would actually like the recoup the extra Hybrid Cost). Also since the Warranties are transferable ,I think that would help with resale. Any suggestions?

I'm actually interested in how that really worked. What do they have a 4200 RPM hard drive in the car, and it some how managed to stay powered up for 3 hrs with the car off, obviously its using power from somewhere.
-
My girlfriend left the reading light on over night, I didn't notice it till I got in this morning to go somewhere. I'm assuming the car has a feature to auto-turn this off so it really wasn't on all night? But if it doesn't can this drain the battery like a typical car or does it work differently? Thanks

Just got my Map update from Ford (After complaining for the last 8 months that my 2010 card came with 2008 maps) they gave me a copy for free. Anyways its installing now but this is going to take a LONG tine. the instructions says 2 hrs for the first disc and 1 hr for the 2nd. Really? 3 hrs to install map data, thats pretty pathetic. Luckily you can have your car off during the process.

Oh hmmm, it may have been. If that's the case it should be able to tell and not give a false warning.

Ran the Vehicle Health report today ( I try to do it once a month) and got the following error message about my breaks: " The icons below may be illuminated in your dash or console or may appear in your message center. The vehicle diagnostics indicate a parameter that is out of normal range or that a component has failed. Systems within your vehicle need prompt service and/or inspection. Urgent Brake Warning »What Should I Do? Check that the parking brake has been released. If the light remains on, the brake system should be inspected immediately. Contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible. WARNING: Driving a vehicle with the brake system warning light on is dangerous. A significant decrease in braking performance may occur. It will take you longer to stop the vehicle. Have the vehicle checked by your authorized dealer. Driving extended distances with the parking brake engaged can cause brake failure and the risk of personal injury. »What Is Happening? Indicates low brake fluid level or a brake system malfunction has been detected. »What Does This Warning Mean? Brake system warning light: To confirm the brake system warning light is functional, it will momentarily illuminate when the ignition is turned to the on position when the engine is not running, or in a position between on and start, or by applying the parking brake when the ignition is turned to the on position. If the brake system warning light does not illuminate at this time, seek service immediately from your authorized dealer. Illumination after releasing the parking brake indicates low brake fluid level or a brake system malfunction has been detected and the brake system should be inspected immediately. Contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible." Its weird though my dash doesn't have any warning lights on.

Wow, I didn't know the passenger seat folds forward.

Thanks, must just be paranoid after the repair work. :)

Wow, they got rid of the Atlantis Green? I really like this, everyone thinks my car is black. heheh.

Today I noticed in my 2010 the driver side sun visor has a bunch of give to it. For instance if I press it up (against the ceiling there is about 1/2 inch it will move, until I let go and it bounces back. This does not happen on the passenger side. Is this normal or did the body shop manage to break mine when they were replacing the windshield.

My local dealership is doing 0% interest for 60 months on their FFH, shame that offered that 3 months after I bought mine. http://www.tedbritt.com/
