  1. Used my wipers for the first time today, and wow are they loud! Anyone else notice this? Maybe its because the car is so quiet....
  2. Ok, so its been 3 weeks and Ford still doesn't have a fix for this issue, how long is reasonable to wait when you have a defect on your brand new car before you raise a stink!
  3. So this morning when I left for work it was 19 degrees out. I auto started my car and it was running for a good 5 mins before I got it. Both my wife and I had our heated seats on (level 2) and the heat at 73. On a 23 mile commute (not hypermilling) the car said I got 41 mpg. I think that is pretty decent for the cold weather and all we had running.
  4. Car said I was 45 miles to empty and I was averaging 40.6 mpg. I put in 10.827 gallons. Though seems a bit odd, thought this car had a 14 gallon tank, If 2 in reserve there is 1 gallon unaccounted for. (did I do that math correct?) Anyways so far the car has 473 miles on it, but my #'s are a bit skewed because the car had 42 miles on it when I bought it and they refilled up the tank when I picked it up (and I'm pretty sure I did not reset the trip computer.
  5. So the manual states the following (see below) Does this mean I don't need to release the electric parking break and I can just drive off? On 2 occasions I've tried this both forward and reverse (gently stepping on the accelerator) and the car doesn't seem to go. Am I reading how this works wrong? Automatic release - drive away releaseNote:The driver's door must be closed andthe driver's safety belt must be fastenedbefore this feature will operate.Note:If the electric parking brake warninglamp stays illuminated, the electric parkingbrake will not automatically release. Youmust release the electric parking brake usingthe electric parking brake switch.Note:The engine must be running and theaccelerator pedal must be pressed beforethe drive away release feature will operate.Note:On hybrid vehicles, the vehicle mustbe Ready-to-Drive as indicated by the greenReady indicator light. The brake system warning lamp will go offto confirm that the electric parking brakehas been released.Note:The electric parking brake drive awayrelease makes starting on a hill easier. Thisfeature will release the parking brakeautomatically when the vehicle hassufficient drive force to move up the hill. Toassure drive away release when startinguphill, press the accelerator pedal quickly.
  6. Just hit my best mpg this morning, this is on my way to work, combo of city and hwy (about 40/60).
  7. So I've had my 2014 FFH Titanium 1 week now and I wanted to give my opinion on it. (Just a heads up there will be a bunch of comparisons to my old 2010 FFH and my previous 2013 Ford Escape Titanium.) So anyways lets see where to start. I am still on my first tank of gas, I show a little more then 1/4 of a tank left on the gauge and averaging 41.1 MPG, over all I am pretty pleased with the gas mileage I've been getting, on a few trips to work in the morning I've managed to get around 48 mpg. It definitely requires some abnormal driving techniques to achieve close to the EPA rating of 47. Oddly enough on my old 2010 FFH I hit 50mpg on a few instances of driving to work, so I'll be interested in seeing if I can manage to do that with this car. Let me talk about acceleration/speed for a minute. Going from 270 HP on the Escape to 185 HP is a major "ouch", going from a stop light to normal driving speed (on say a 35-45 mph road, I feel like I'm lagging behind and everyone behind me is waiting. Once I'm up to cruising speed though I have no issues or concerns. Next we have the technology, this car is a packed full of technology goodness. Adaptive Cruise Control - Not sure how I ever lived without this, we are 1/2 way towards automatic driving cars. BLIS - Had this on my last 2 Fords, don't think I can ever buy a new car without it. Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist - I've used the warning but not the assist feature. Still to early to comment really on this. NAV System - As much as people knock it (I myself being one of them) the Ford Nav system is much better then most other car manufactures, I've seen a lot of different systems and the Ford system by far is the best looking, most of the other systems look like a system from 5 years ago. Still annoyed Ford charges $200 for Map updates though, in this day in age when your phone has free gps and portable systems include free map updates this business strategy needs to be changed. MyFordTouch - This system has gotten a lot better. With version 3.6 there is a lot less bugs, I just hope they can keep putting out good fixes without breaking things in the process. By the way they did a much better job in the FFH integrating MyFordTouch then in the 2013 Ford Escape, its also much easier to press the screen while driving. Active Park Assist - Still haven't used this yet, and never used it with my Ford Escape. One of these days I will be brave enough to try it. Now for a few annoyances: 1. While the touch sensitive buttons is cool and futuristic like, I find myself accidentally pressing them sometimes when I reach over to the MyFordTouch system. On a side note they don't seem to respond when wearing gloves. 2. Occasionally there is a small jolt when switching from EV to ICE while the car is stopped, happens rarely but I never had this happen on my 2010 FFH. 3. I feel like I'm sitting very low in this car, it may just be how the center armrest is but I keep finding myself readjusting, especially my left foot which I feel needs to be completely stretched out to be comfortable in the car. 4. I can't believe my HD Radio is broken out of the box (ie bought broken) and Ford still has yet to issue a fix. A few extra things: I can't say how much I love the design of the rear tail lights, why oh why didn't they add LED's to the front too. This is the first Ford I've owned that has a center cup holder with auto adjustments for different size cups. It seems so simple, not sure why every car doesn't have this. Remote Start is awesome, didn't have it on my 2010 FFH, but I did on my Escape, nice to have it back on a fuel efficient car. In general I'm really liking this car, great technology, great looking and great gas mileage. Its hard to get all 3 of those in a non luxury car (let along 2 of the 3).
  8. Interested to see what people are putting for the bass, midrange and treble on their car. So far I've been keeping them in the middle, but anyone find a good combo? Also what is the point of surround? On my 2010FFH it played DVD's so surround sound was cool, but for playing music why would anyone not have it set as stereo.
  9. Ok, well at least I know this is a normal issue. Appreciate you all confirming it.
  10. So it is not happening all the times but at least 4 times now I've been stopped in traffic or at a light and car will switch from the EV to Gas, I will feel a jolt (almost like someone bumped my car gently). This is on a 2014 FFH. Anyone else ever experience this?
  11. Ok, so 10 minutes after I got off the phone with the dealership the service manager calls me back and said the same thing Waldo said. He also said that they have a do no attempt to repair message from Ford. Said he would call me back as soon as they have a fix. Sort of annoys me that a 38k car has a broken radio out of the box....
  12. Sigh, finally heard back from the service department and they said they are not aware of any issues with the HD radio. And if I wanted I could bring my "5 day old car in to have it looked at". About to call Ford Corporate a raise a stink.
  13. Havent seen the cool LED lights go on yet in my car yet other then when I start it up. Though maybe its a good thing I dont see it.
  14. Ok, so I guess the question is why does my mirror not have the heated window icon then. :)
  15. I dunno, the specs on the 2014 Fusion Hybrid Titanium don't list heated mirrors as an option. And Hybridbear you are correct, I didn't realize the mirror was auto dimming, maybe that is why it is not heated?
  16. I've sent an email to my dealership asking if they are aware of it and or have a quick fix. Waiting to hear back.
  17. Here is a few http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/gallery/album/336-2014-darkside-ffh-titanium/ The color is pretty interesting, it very closesly resembles the Atlantis Green I had on my 2010 FFH, but a bit darker. If you saw it and didn't know better you'd almost think it was black.
  18. Is that the heated side mirror icon? I wasn't aware that was an option of the FFH, I thought I had gotten every option (pre job 2). Its not just the picture, there is clearly an outer mirror ring around my drive side mirror, just looks a bit odd.
  19. Just bought a new FFH Titanium this weekend (11/9/13) and I noticed that today too on the way to work. Can press the button but the light never comes on.
