  1. This is a steady, repeating tone from the speakers after turning on the radio system. It doesn't go away until the car is turned off for a period of time. I don't know what triggers it, but it goes away after the car is shut off for a period of time, and comes back several weeks later. I think it is connected to the front/rear driver assist system. I also occasionally get the system beep that comes from behind the dash instead of through the speakers, so there is a software corruption in there somewhere.
  2. I don't recall when it first started happening, but I suspect it's when the recalled circuit board in the center console was replaced. At random times, when I start the car in the morning and turn on the radio, I get a repeat-pattern beep coming from the Sync MyFord touch system. It is a different pitched beep from the Sync screen beeps. It's similar to the front/back driver alert beeps. Also, if I'm adjusting the climate control buttons (temp, fan speed, etc.), it seems like every fifth press causes this same beep on top of the normal beep. Turning off the radio and turning it back on does not make it go away. It seems that the car has to be completely shut down for a period of time for the system to clear itself. The problem is gone when I go back to the car after work. After a few weeks, it starts over again. I also saw a post about a TSB for an under-dash beep from the driver alert system that should come from the Sync speaker system. I also have that problem, but I can't recall where I saw that TSB. Perhaps that issue would fix this one, too? I have a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid, early Feb 2013 build date. Any ideas?
  3. I found that descent assist was useful on short steep hills, but on longer mountain range descents the HVB filled up and the engine began racing. I then switched it off and used regular braking. For the record, this was on HWY 17 across the Santa Cruz Mountains coming back into San Jose, CA.
  4. I am a low mileage driver. I bought the car in February 2013 and only have about 19,000 miles on it.
  5. Some thoughts about this topic: 1. Most of the posts are from 2009, before Ford changed the top speed for EV. Back then the top speed was 45 mph, so I could see frustrating situations arising when hybrid drivers go too slow for the roads. Starting with the 2013 redesign, the top speed for EV was increased to 60 mph, and a later reprogramming moved it to 75 mph. We can go a lot faster now and still hyper-mile or pulse and glide. 2. For me, I like to get up to driving speed and then set the adaptive cruise control to maintain the speed in EV. I find that the computer knows what the exact minimum force is to maintain my set speed. Since I now live in Houston where the roads are fairly flat, I can see the blue bar rise and fall with the slight contours in the roads. Mostly, only minimum force is necessary to sustain my speed. When I drain the HVB, I wait for the HVB to charge back to 50% and then re-engage the cruise control. 3. If there is a behavior of mine that might annoy followers, it is that I have the ECO setting turned on. This results in the car more slowly accelerating to speed if the car in front of me has to slow down for some reason, or if the computer becomes confused if the car in front moves into a turn lane and begins to brake. Sometimes I will override the cruise control and step on the gas to quickly get back to speed.
  6. I brought my car to Ford today. They replaced the seatbelt retractor assembly in the middle. It was covered under warranty.
  7. OMG! This just happened to me. Just when I thought it was finally fixed for good. I folded down the 2/3rds back seat to load a box and when I got home I can't get the seat to lift back again. Of course, it's a 2013 FFH. Is there any way to jiggle it loose?
  8. This may sound weird, but I think my 2013 FFH likes the cold. I keep my car in a garage overnight, so it isn't terribly cold in the morning. I put the A/C on in the Auto mode at 70 degrees when I begin my morning drive at 6:15am. Since I usually end the drive home with a low state of charge, the car needs to run the ICE anyway, so it warms the heater and recharges the HVB. When the HVB gets over 80%, if the engine hasn't warmed up yet, the instant MPG jumps from 20 to 40, indicating that the power from the ICE is no longer going towards recharging the HVB. As soon as I make my first stop, the ICE turns off and I have a nice flat 2.5 mile drive with only one stop sign, all done on EV.
  9. My EV+ has always been quick to learn my home and work, now my park and ride lot, and of course the Ford dealership :-(
  10. 15R01 just showed up on my car, too. I bought it in California, but moved to Texas last year. My car is scheduled for its second 10,000 mile maintenance on Friday, when they were also going to do the door latches, restraints control module, and reprogramming.
  11. It's an odd one, I know. I noticed yesterday that the left arrow on the 4-way rocker button on the left side of of the steering wheel wasn't lit. I pushed it a few times, then left it alone, and then it slowly started to glow. Same thing happened this morning. I think the bulb is starting to fail. And yes, sigh, it's a 2013 FFH.
  12. My original crack that was repaired by Safelite cracked again last week. I had to replace the windshield this time.
  13. Mine does not retain the setting. I have to turn it on each time I start the car.
  14. Good news. The car started with no problem after 10 days.
