Taking my car in tomorrow morning for its first service, 6 months old and only has about 4k miles on it, but required to get it served every 6 month for the PowerTrain 4 Life program at my dealer. Anyways other then the oil change/ tire rotation stuff and small issue I have with MyFord Touch Is there anything specific I should have them check? Knock on wood (so far the car has been pretty solid).

CD drive seems fine, though I did realize now my screen doesn't make any clicking noise anymore. I checked and the option is still selected, even turned it off and turned it back on. I'll have t he dealer look at it next month when I take my car in for an oil change.

Some how my car got stuck in a loop making the click noise when you tap on the MyFord Touch, literally for my 15 minute drive it just kept clicking. It all started after I was scrolling through the "view" options on the NAV to see where my upcoming turns were. Here is what makes it more odd, turning off the NAV didn't fix it, turning off the radio didn't fix it, I also pulled over and turned off the car, that also didn't fix it. (ie as soon as I turned the car back on it went back to clicking). It finally went away at some point when I left my car and came back and hour later.

So its finally getting "warm" in VA and honestly I am not noticing much difference in full economy, All throughout the winter I was between 37-40 each fill up. Now that its somewhat warm outside The 2 tanks I've gone through are only at about 39. As much as I hate to admit it my 2010 FFH seemed to a better job on gas mileage. could constantly get almost 50 and usually without trying. I can barely get 43+ with my 2014 FFH so far.

So both myself and my wife got a letter from Ford today that they were extended the warranty on the MyFord Touch system in our cars to 5 years. (Mine a 2014 FFH) purchased in Oct of 2013 and hers a 2013 C-Max Hybrid) purchased in Dec of 2013.

I brought this up in another thread, but I'll do it here too. Has anyone taken a look at other car manufacturer's GPS systems. Most I've seen are subpar to the Ford one, most don't even support the 3D view, let a long 3D buildings. As for Map updates, it drives me crazy how expensive they are and how long it takes to come out. My last 4 cars all had NAV systems (Mini, and 3 Fords). The Mini updates came out once a year on the dot and cost $200 each. (this is before cell phones with free google maps was bid and before most portable gps's cost $100 and came with lifetime updates. For the Fords, my first car (2010 FFH) came with a map that was a year out of date, I raised a stink with Ford Corporate and they sent me the latest one for free. As for the current version which is A4, I'm pretty sure we all got that free when the new MyFord Touch version was released, but just looking at the data its at least 2 years behind (especially for some places in the DC Metro area). The real problem I see here is how can the map updates take so long to come out (2-18 months per an email I received from Navteq) and cost so much when Garmin who also uses Navteq can put out 4 updates a year (included in the cost of the GPS) and their map data is up to date. P.S. I can't understand why someone cant figure out how to just be able to send your phone google maps or apple maps using Bluetooth) to the already built in system. This way you already have the latest maps and no extra cost.

I just got ADD watching that video, definitely don't have the patience for that. Wonder what the dealer would charge to have them fixed.

So after all the snow and ice we have been having I finally was able to clean my car and I found 2 nice big chips on my hood, they are definitely down past the paint. What is my best option to fix these? Buy some Official for Darkside paint?

While not an issue, I didn't want to start a new topic, I just wanted to say I love the Auto high beams. Was on this small twisty/windy road in the middle of nowhere and it was awesome to have them turn on and off automatically when cars would come from the opposite side.

My dealership has a powertrain for life program, but it requires you to get an Oil change every 6k miles even though the FFH only needs one every 10k, sort of a shady tactic if you ask me.

ok, so I've been using Fuelly since I got my 2014 FFH in October and either the car MPG display is wrong Fuelly is calculating MPG wrong. I reset my MPG after each fillup, so for instance the other day I filled up my tank and my car said I was getting 39.1 mpg. When I entered it into Fuelly I got 34.8. Fuelly says my average is 35.7 but that seems pretty off as most of the times after I fill up I usually have gotten around 39-41 mpg. https://www.fuelly.com/driver/howie411/fusion-hybrid?fu=5944215

They added a Hybrid Tax fee in VA, it pissed a lot of people off. They recently removed it, I don't think it even lasted a whole year.

Ok here is an odd one. So I decided to spray down the car tonight with the hose, finally "semi warm enough" to get the sand and salt off. I had the key fob in my winter coat jacket pocket and as I walked side to side spraying the car the doors would lock and unlock (like I was pressing the button). Same thing happened when I did the other side of the car. Anyone ever see this happen?

Wow, you all are to funny, I now know way to much about tires. :) Back to the question at hand, has anyone actually removed them with over the counter stuff? I see 1 shout out for 409.

So there is a Red Spot (looks like paint or marker) on my tires. These were on the car when I got it (had 40ish miles on it) I thought they would go away after a while but they haven't. Any idea what the point of it was and is there a easy way to remove it?

Hmm I'd be surprised if it required all 4 of those. I assume the wheel has some sort of heating element in it. Its already getting power and connected to the MyFord Touch Systen (for volume and other stuff. I would think it would just need to be activated on the MyFord Touch.

Now that the FFH is out with the heated steering wheel. Has anyone checked with their dealer if this can be retrofitted. I'm guessing by the really low price tag of $120 to add it it probably doesn't require many changes.

Anyone notice the screw holes are on the bottom instead of the top? I purchased 2 license plate holders to get rid of the dealer ones. The rear one is fine since it screws in on the top. But the front one screws in on the bottom and my license plate holder doesn't have holes on the bottom. I looked at a few other cars around me and they all screw in on the top..... Ugh

So I finally got a chance to clean my Ford and put down the floor mats. I haven't take the car for a ride yet, but I'm not to impressed yet. The edges don't seem to sit well. On the drivers side one, it comes up on the seat side. (see picture) also if you see Ric's photo the piece on the left side on his is completely covered the foot rest, but on mine it seems to stop 3/4 of the way up. On the passenger side, the side closest to the seat also does not sit flat (see picture) The rear seat section fits perfect.

Are you sure? On my 2010 FFH, with Sync Gen 1 it had an option to train it (you could train it for 2 different people). Never seen this option in MyFord Touch on my Escape or Fusion.

For the Keyless Entry I had major issues with this on my 2013 Ford Escape. On my 2014 FFH its like 100% better. Only have had issues 1 time (knock on wood) For the Steering Wheel Design, see the thread I posted comparing the wheel in the Fusion, Escape and C-MAX on the Electrical, Gauges, Instruments, Lighting, Rear View Mirror page, the Fusion by far has the best layout. One item I didn't see listed that drives me crazy is the front sensor beeping randomly going off. I could be stopped at a stop light and randomly it starts beeping for a second or two and displays on the dash. Though i had this issue on my Escape too.
