  1. I hope the issue is easily reproducible at the dealer so that they can't deny its existence.
  2. Send to Car isn't a free app? I looked it up in the iTunes App Store and it costs $3.99.
  3. Sync Destinations sometimes locks you out and gives a message about the car being in motion. You also cannot type an address in on the MFT screen while moving. That's all I was saying. I was just trying to summarize it concisely.
  4. Another thing I observed during our road trip was a duplication of the behavior described here. Do others also experience this after hours of freeway driving?
  5. The ICE pulsates. We've experienced this on all 3 Fusions. See this post. We also experienced this same behavior in the white FFH when the ICE temp went above 220 F. I never had a ScanGauge or anything to monitor temps when this happened in the black FFH.
  6. Right. So you can't use your cell phone for Sync Destinations while driving and you can't enter Navigation data while driving but you can browse your music on the MFT screen while driving.
  7. The iPod screen is locked out but the MFT screen allows us to browse songs, artists, playlists, etc while moving.
  8. Check out this post. Turning on the AC actually reduces ICE temp by opening the grille shutters all the way. I'm not comfortable letting the ICE temp go above 215. Above 220 the ICE begins to behave differently. Last weekend we drove to Wisconsin when the temp was in the 50s. The ICE temp reached 217 or 218 a few times but mostly it stayed between 205-215. I still have both grilles completely blocked. We don't anticipate using the ICE again until late April so I'm leaving the grille blocked since it doesn't have much impact when running the Energi in EV mode.
  9. The Energi models have the TCU with an AT&T cellular connection. While CBS covered up the car it was pretty obvious that it was a Chevy Impala.
  10. Have you checked ET Mode to see what your car reports for FLPM? Check out this post for the details about this ET Mode screen. I would try driving with ET Mode up and watch the FLPM and the fuel gauge. Assuming they move together it seems likely that you have a bad fuel-level sensor.
  11. Thanks for the pics. I try to vacuum that area out when vacuuming the car.
  12. We can browse our older 4GB iPod Mini while driving. So do we. I will look into "Send to Car".
  13. Pictures to show what exactly you mean? :camera:
  14. Has anyone been able to hack a car without being plugged in to the OBDII port? If not, then this is just media frenzy and not a real story.
  15. The ICE RPM is not connected to the wheel speed. The ICE runs closer to the Atkinson cycle than Otto cycle normally which makes the ICE louder because air gets pushed back into the intake during the compression stroke.
  16. This doesn't always work though. We tried to do this lots on our California road trip and the Sync Destinations app often gave us a message saying: "Your vehicle has been detected as in motion. This functionality is not available while your vehicle is in motion." It was really frustrating when my wife couldn't send addresses to the car from the app. Turning off BT and restarting the phones would sometimes trick it to let her send data to the car but sometimes even after restarting the app would still lock us out. But the app doesn't always lock us out...I'm not sure how it detects that the car is in motion either.
  17. The same thing would happen to my wife. Good thing she usually drives the Focus Electric which starts out with a "full tank" daily. We used to have a Saab 9-5 which had the opposite problem. The car would read empty on the fuel gauge when it actually had fuel. Apparently Saab used a type of plastic that was destroyed by the ethanol in the fuel over time. Thus on our decade old car the fuel float would periodically fail.
  18. You could almost certainly find a Fusion Energi with BLIS for that price. Our 2013 had an MSRP of about $45k and we paid under $33k at the dealer, under $29k with the tax credit. How close are you to Havill-Spoerl Ford in Wisconsin? They are EV certified and are big proponents of EVs. They sell a lot of Focus Electrics and ship them all over the country.
  19. We drove to Wisconsin on Sunday and got over 50 MPGe for the day. If I subtract out the electricity use it was about 55.4 MPG. The drive was about 110 miles of interstate driving at 65+ MPH and about 110 miles of country highway at 55+ MPH with scattered slow downs for small towns.
  20. Do you have pictures of what you mean? What products have you used?
  21. That's quite odd!! Sounds like some part has failed...hopefully the dealer will be able to figure it out quickly.
  22. Excellent summary of the discussion thus far. SE models can get the spoiler as part of the 501A (Appearance) Package and Titanium models can remove it when ordering.
  23. I think we should rename this topic since it's really about spoilers and now aerodynamics. There's lots of great information here to refer back to in the future that may get lost with the current title.
