  1. FORScan doesn't show this data either. I would think that the car is monitoring it, but maybe not...
  2. Congrats on your new car and welcome. It's a great vehicle!
  3. Excellent point. I like to turn my park lights and fog lights on during the day. I believe that this makes the car a bit more noticeable than headlights in daylight. Based on the book I read last summer called Traffic: Why We Drive the Way We Do researchers have found that many accidents happen because we see what we expect to see. Doing something to make your car stand out makes you more visible. I have experienced this. If left in Auto the climate control seems to increase fan speed. If you have the fan on manual but the rest of the HVAC on auto it will adjust the air temp out the vents. Or at least this is what I think I've experienced.
  4. I thought that brake fluid absorbed moisture over time which can lead to reduced hydraulic pressure for emergency braking. Isn't it standard procedure for most shops to replace the fluid when changing pads/rotors?
  5. Do you know what the cost would have been without the ESP?
  6. An Energi owner recently used Plasti-Dip to black out his grille. You may want to check out that thread. Edit: Here is the link: http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/683-anyone-changed-appearance-of-grill-maybe-blacked-out/
  7. Maybe this TSB applies to you: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/9352-technical-service-bulletins-tsbs/?p=88007
  8. Buying an Energi should help. ;) The Energi charges the 12V battery while charging the HVB. We had BS issues in the FFH. I used a battery tender to fix it. With the Energi the 12V SOC is rarely lower than 85% according to the car.
  9. Was the brake fluid changed? I would be more concerned with that than brake pads.
  10. TSB 15-0055 HEADLINER RATTLE OR SAG AROUND THE ROOF OPENING PANEL tsb15-0055 headliner rattle or sag.pdf
  11. TSB 15-0053 OVERHEAD CONSOLE LOOSE ATTACHMENT - BROKEN REAR OVERHEAD CONSOLE RETAINING BRACKET REPAIR KIT AVAILABLE tsb15-0053 overhead console loose.pdf
  12. SSM 45044 - 2013-2014 Various Vehicles - Instrument Cluster Lens Or Masks Available For Various 2013-2014 Vehicles the Instrument Cluster lens, base part number 10887, or mask, base part number 10890, are now available should the Instrument Cluster plastic lens become discolored, scratched, blurred, cracked, or other cosmetic concerns that do not affect the operation of the Instrument Cluster. Refer to section 413-01 of the appropriate WSM for Instrument Cluster lens or mask removal and installation procedure. Refer to the Warranty and Policy Manual for appropriate coverage.
  13. I do too. I don't like using anything less than 4 bars on the freeway. 4 bars is still less than 3 seconds at >62 MPH which is too close for my comfort. The Chevy Volt's Adaptive Cruise Control allows you to set your following distance in seconds. I wish our cars could do that. You can set your following distance as high as 4+ seconds IIRC. I drove a Volt the other day with a friend who's looking at one and while we didn't have much chance to test the ACC, it looked like a much more advance system than what our cars offer. I also agree about the reaction time issue. That's why a minimum following distance of 3 seconds is recommended, 4+ in rain/snow/etc. I still find it shocking that Ford's ACC system allows/encourages drivers to follow so closely. When we're doing long highway drives and are coming up on someone slow in our lane I try to always change lanes before the ACC starts slowing me down. If I feel the ACC slowing me down I know I am getting too close.
  14. Inputting nav addresses on screen is frustrating. We always use the Sync Destinations app or voice commands.
  15. It will duplicate breadcrumbs, usually almost right on top of one another.
  16. Remember that the 12V battery should never be charged via its terminals. It should only be charged from the posts under the hood.
  17. Seems to be a somewhat common issue. Many early 2013s had this issue.
  18. Interesting. Minimal comments about why the change in hybrid production. It's rare to produce a car overseas and import it for sale. The HAH is low volume so there probably is low risk for Honda there.
  19. I'll watch for you on the road... We're in Edina.
  20. I'll usually set the Adaptive Cruise to 65 MPH and then hold my foot on the pedal just above 1 bar on the Empower screen. This will keep the ICE on when going downhill and keep the HVB charged. I may gain 5+ MPH going downhill but since I set the cruise to 65 MPH when the speed limit is 70 I am not concerned about gaining even 10 MPH on a downhill stretch.
  21. I wonder if this SSM will fix this issue?? I also posted the SSM in the SSM thread. SSM 45012 - 2013-2015 Fusion/MKZ, 2015 MKC, 2015 Mustang - Steering Column Controls Inoperative With Possible U0212 - Built On Or Before 3/20/2015Some 2013-2015 Fusion/MKZs, 2015 MKCs, or 2015 Mustangs may exhibit the steering column controls such as turn signals, radio controls, and low speed wipers being intermittently inoperative with a possible U0212 in multiple modules. First, correct any HS2 CAN network issues that may be present if various other HS2 CAN U-codes are present. If no network issue is present and the vehicle is built on or before 3/20/2015, reprogram the SCCM to the latest calibration using IDS release 94.04 and higher. Remove and reinstall fuse F13 if the SCCM will not communicate in order to accept the calibration update. Replace the SCCM if communication with the module can't be restored. Use applicable 12651D labor ops and causal part 3F791 for reflash only.
  22. SSM 45041 - 2013-2015 Fusion S And SE - Inadvertant Or Unintended Heated Seat Operation Some 2013-2015 Fusion S and SE model vehicles equipped with heated seats may experience inadvertent or unintended heated seat activation. The activation of theheated seats can occur due to the inherent sensitivity of the heated seat capacitive button on the instrument panel adjacent to the radio controls. A brush of the hand or finger 3 to 5 millimeters away from the switch can activate a capacitive switch without physically touching or pressing the button. No repairs should be performed for this condition.
  23. SSM 45012 - 2013-2015 Fusion/MKZ, 2015 MKC, 2015 Mustang - Steering Column Controls Inoperative With Possible U0212 - Built On Or Before 3/20/2015 Some 2013-2015 Fusion/MKZs, 2015 MKCs, or 2015 Mustangs may exhibit the steering column controls such as turn signals, radio controls, and low speed wipers being intermittently inoperative with a possible U0212 in multiple modules. 24. SSM 45008 - 2013-2015 Fusion Energi - DTC P0A81 And/Or P0A82 - Open Battery Cooling Fan Fuses F35 Or F36 - Intermittent Battery Draw - Built On Or Before 11/1/2014 Some 2013-2015 Fusion Energi vehicles built on or before 11/1/2014 may exhibit possible DTCs P0A81 or P0A82 stored in the BECM, open battery cooling fan fuses F35 or 36, or an intermittent 12 volt battery draw. This may be due to a short on the cooling fan circuits. To verify, remove the driver's side trunk liner and look for a shorted harness for the take-out to C4434 and C4435 on the HV batterycage bracket. The bracket attaches the HV battery cage to the body. Refer to the wiring diagram for the location of C4434 or C4435. Repair and relocate the harness as necessary using the applicable wiring repair labor operation from section 10 of the SLTS manual.
