Idea for storing pistol in cabin.
tr7driver replied to keithsm2's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
When I did the hard reset, I noticed a lot of "wasted space" in the compartment with the LV battery. I was thinking about storing my Jack in there but I was afraid it may interfere with all of the electronic gear in the area. I think you could hide a pistol in a case there if you could keep it stable. Not exactly in the cabin, but it could be a nice hiding place when you to buildings where you can't carry. -
Strange noise coming from the back/trunk
tr7driver replied to Double-Tap's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
When I did my hard reset last week I discovered my LV battery wasn't in very tight. (I think the original may have been replaced) It didn't clunk, but I'm surprised it didn't. -
Consumer Reports reliability reports

I couldn't stand the MFT in my 2010, then I took a trip in it from California to Illinois. by the time I got through Kansas I loved it. I got out the book and learned it as we drove. I love the MFT in the 2014, but I do miss the menu buttons on the dash of the 2010. -
I'm not sure Ford has figured out who buys hybrids, eco boost engines and v6 power plants enough to market them properly.

Problem - Lane assist feature disappeared
tr7driver replied to swingdj's topic in Advanced Driver Assistance Technologies
it is very easy to accidentally turn on or off when using the turn signals, especially if you are wearing gloves. I did the same thing when I first drove the car and kept flipping through the menus trying to turn it back on while the not seeing the button. It did help familiarize me with the rest of the menu items in settings. -
I'm very interested to see what you come up with. I use a scanner I bought a Harbor Freight a few years back. I don't get any real time data, only what is in the computer at the time I download the info. I also have a x-calber scanner that gives real time data to my laptop that I can use to read and reprogram the computer, but it is mated specifically (locked) to the computer in my Mustang.

My Poor Flex, bashed up but we are OK
tr7driver replied to acdii's topic in Lounge - Off Topic Discussion
In the old days, everyone was required to carry safety flairs. You are supposed to light one of those baby's up on the highway and warn approaching drivers to prevent a chain pile up. I still carry a box of 3 in my Triumph. Now I'm thinking I should carry them in all the cars this time of year. They last about 20 min. I think most state troopers in Illinois still carry them, but the cops usually don't arrive until after the pile up. -
Thanks for posting the photos. I couldn't fit my jack in widthwise, but I never tried it lengthwise. (DUHH). It fit nicely. I wrapped it in an anti rattle towel.

Husky Weatherbeater Liner plus Factory Floor Mat Combo
tr7driver replied to scn101's topic in Floor Mats
I installed a set of the Husky liners on Saturday. I was a little disappointed they didn't cover a little more of the area, especially in front of the seat as I usually put it all the way back. I remembered laughing at the sales man when said how protective the floor mats are. I told him I had handkerchiefs that were bigger than the floor mat. If it ever warms up I got to do a lot of cleaning. -
I did a hard reset Saturday with 1200 miles on the car. It had over 300 on it when it was delivered, so I figured I'd see if this helped. The avg MPG was at 33.0, but given the cold temps we have had since we bought the car, I think a lot of the issue was weather related. After the rest, I put about 40 miles on the car Saturday with the temp in the low 40's and actively hypermiling got 54 mpg. I got 39.9 MPG on the 8 mile drive into work this morning with temp at 17F, so I think it definitely has improved so far.

My wife mostly drives the FFH. Last spring we went on a road trip to South Bend, Indiana, in the 2010 Milan HY and I started giving her pointers while I was driving. Always positive, not picking at her, just demonstrating the quirks of driving a hybrid. When she saw the MPG jump after the trip, it turned into a competition, lol. However, she still likes to set the climate control and leave it.

4 door dings in the first week
tr7driver replied to Ryan Goodlett's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
I passed on the insurance, probably should have bought it. I always park at the back of the lot since the exercise is good for me, but my wife..... Someone nailed my mustang just behind the drivers door up high and pretty deep, probably a rear door on an SUV. I had a paintless guy work on it. It looks a lot better but he couldn't get it out completely. -
Let me know how much interest you get. I'm going to put mine on Craigslist or ebay once I test the spare and get the jack sorted out. No sence of us competing to sell them.

That is the same tire I have. The weather here has been too crazy to try it, have you tried it on our car? It fits in the wheel well nicely. I like the tool kit, is it a good fit? I got a jack and wrench from a junk yard and I have to figure out how to store the jack. I may go the zip tie under the parcel shelf route but now that I've seen your tool kit.......

Glad to hear you are OK. It was one icy morning around here. -
There are a million silver cars that all look the same to me. Our 10 Milan Hybrid was silver and my wife often walked up to other silver cars clicking the remote in parking lots, lol. However, when we traded it there was actually a bonus premium for the color in the calculation, so it all goes back to what you like.

Ordering a 14 FFH soon. Any advice?
tr7driver replied to Regaldan80's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I see that new car inventories have increased substantially in January so this should be a good time to negotiate. I wouldn't be surprised to see ford add some incentives. Also, if you haven't, go to ford's website and request info on the fusion. Hopefully they will send you a booklet with a coupon for additional customer cash. Also, Farm Bureau members in some states get a $500 discount (750 on some models) on new Fords. -
HI, Welcome to the forum. You will find the folks here very knowledgeable and helpful. We'll also drive you crazy asking about the energy as we are a curious lot. How do you like the clear bra? Did you install it yourself? $? I was going to install one on my Mustang when it was new and never got around to it. Now I'm thinking I should do the fusion before it gets chipped up.

You shouldn't need a bracket. Remove the hardware holding the foam insert in the trunk and you can use it to hold down the spare. The issue is finding a good way to stow the jack. Check out the spare tire thread that is pinned to the top of this secton.

I like to tell the salesman that he only gets one trip to the office, so make it his best shot. I have no problem taking a walk. They always call the next day anyway. I remember a guy telling me that what I wanted "was impossible to do on a Honda CRV, shop around and see for yourself." He called me the next day to see if he "could do anything" to get me into that car. I said I took his advice and found the deal I wanted at another store. His sales manager was on the phone to me less than ten minutes later saying he thinks he could work it out. It was too late, someone else won my business and by that point I didn't want to deal with them. But I did say thanks for selling me on the car.

looking good! Can't wait to see the interior shots. Congratulations..

Saw one exactly like mine, Platinum white Ti Hy, no sunroof, on the drive in to work this morning. I was beside myself in shock.
