  1. Thanks. My car had come to the dealer I bought it from on a trade with a dealer near Toledo, and it had almost 400 miles on it, so I'm interested in seeing if this will impact the MPG.
  2. So is removing the service disconnect plug for 10 minutes, and simultaneously disconnecting the 12 volt battery in the trunk for 10 min sufficient to do a hard reset?
  3. Is there a way to clear this and have the car re-learn your "good" habits?
  4. Mine was stolen in 1976  It was a good driver but was developing a rust problem. They were not quite yet collectable at the time, but I got enough from the insurance company to buy a new Camaro.
  5. What do you call the things that look like brushes on the UPS semi trucks? Splash Brooms? Muck Brushes?
  6. Yes, that's why I was asking if you could place the factory mats inside (on top of) the husky liners. The factory mats don't cover much of the floor and look as if they shouldn't interfere with the gas pedal.
  7. The factory floor mats just don't cut it in this winter weather, and the black carpet really shows the salt. I just ordered a set of Husky mats from Amazon. They were $115 with free shipping. When I went to check out, in showed that I had a $50 gift certificate credit I didn't know about, so I got them for $65. Can you fit the factory mats inside of the husky liners? I ordered splash guard's yesterday, I'll need to give the credit card a rest for a few days. When the weather gets nice, I'll have a couple of projects. I still need to test my spare tire and fit the jack into the trunk.
  8. I bought a fusion off the lot at the end of the year. The selection of available cars was pretty good and I was able to find pretty much what I was looking for. The new care sales manager told me demand for hybrids was strong and at first wasn't willing to negotiate much. The used car manager told me that demand for hybrids was slow as gas prices have eased and he couldn't give me much in trade for my Milan Hy. How's that for talking out of both sides of your mouth? On Jan 1 they were closing out their books on 2013 and everyone was in the mood to deal.
  9. I had not discovered the auto on feature. Thanks for bringing this up!
  10. Like INCO, I thought hybrids would require more systems to maintain and be a headache. Plus my wife drove a lot of highway miles each year so the savings didn't appear worth the cost. Then I started driving my sisters and was sold after about 3 months. When we bought our second one in January I stopped by my insurance agent's office to change the coverage. He asked my why I bought another hybrid and it turned into a 45 minute conversation about the fun in "gaming" gas prices and the challenge of getting the best mpg. I ran into him Monday and he is now driving a FFH. Then there is my wife's uncle who has 3 Prius cars that he bought used. Of course, I still have my Mustang and Triumph Toys, and an SUV so my needs are covered.
  11. GrySql, Thanks for the info. I thought I had seen that thread but couldn't find it. I'll order a set today off ebay.
  12. Did you have to drill into your car to install them or are they designed to install into existing holes/fasteners on the car?
  13. Not saying it's better or worse. Just thinking how a seasoned officer would perceive it. the need to learn how to manage a hybrid could be an issue if they are not motivated or don't have skin in the game. If they bought their own gas they might be more receptive. It cranks me off to see the cruisers idle all day, but that seems to be standard procedure in many municipalities.
  14. i see a lot of cruisers sitting and idling, probably to power the heat in the winter and AC in the summer, plus with all the radios and equipment on board. That could be a challenge for a hybrid.
  15. I always put a stick on convex mirror on the outside bottom corner of my outside mirrors. With bliss I get the best of both.
  16. Go with the flo so you don't run into my bro.
  17. Do you have oil this filter or is it a throw away?
  18. I've always wondered why the intake was made that way. Thanks for the info.
  19. I would think it is time to have a frank discussion with your dealer. If you have a deal locked in on paper with a signed contract, consider this a preview of how the dealer is going to treat you in the future and seriously consider taking your business elsewhere. You may have to wait longer for the car you want, but in the end, it may be a much better experience dealing with another dealer. I used to give my business to a dealer 3 miles from my home. I bought 4 cars there, yet every time I go there I get frustrated. I started to deal with one 20 miles north of me. They knock themselves out for even the smallest service sale. I just bought my second car from them. Its worth the drive.
  20. Wow, your first collie looks just like my dog Porky from the mid 1960's. I think all the photos I have of him are black and white, lol
