jeff_h Report post Posted June 19, 2014 This morning my lifetime ticked over to 51.8. I really enjoy the mileage I'm getting. You do really well, I assume you skip the AC in the mornings since the temps are still reasonable? But then again, I saw you had good numbers in BOTH morning and afternoon posted the other day, well done!
Sleddog Report post Posted June 19, 2014 I do skip it in the morning. The temps are in the low 70s. I'm usually running the air on the way home. But I'm also I little but more careful of how I drive. I also open the windows about 30 minutes before I leave to get the hot air out of the car and let interior (all black) cool off. 1 jeff_h reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted June 20, 2014 This car just continues to amaze me. It is due for a tire rotation and oil change, but it is doing so good, hate to jinx it. This one has been nothing but great since day 1. I am so happy I decided to trade up to it and take the chance after having so much trouble with the first one. :happy feet: :shift:  :love_shower: :love_shower: 3 hybridbear, Sleddog and Wingmn reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted June 22, 2014 I had a ~5 mile city trip yesterday that got 78 MPG. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a pic of it. I started the trip with an almost full HVB and ended with it near half which certainly contributed to the high MPG. 1 Sleddog reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted June 23, 2014 I don't know why, but I feel disappointed that I only got 48 MPG this morning. Pretty sad.
corncobs Report post Posted June 23, 2014 I don't know why, but I feel disappointed that I only got 48 MPG this morning. Pretty sad. I felt the same way after only seeing 52.4 since traffic was flowing nicely this morning I was hoping for a really good one.
GrySql Report post Posted June 23, 2014 Elle sure started a positive and well used Topic thread here didn't she? There was a lot of grumbling and confusion back in February 2013 and she wanted to put a positive note into the Forum.Look at the number of posts, I'd say she did a good job of perking things up around here.Cudo's and a high five to Elle! 5 B25Nut, hybridbear, Sleddog and 2 others reacted to this

Sleddog Report post Posted July 1, 2014 Here's my mpg for my last tank. I was over 56 mpg, but bucking a 30 mph head wind going home yesterday killed my mileage. 2 corncobs and hybridbear reacted to this
Sleddog Report post Posted July 1, 2014 And as a added extra bonus, the wind was honking again today, and will be tomorrow until the first topical storm of the season goes up the coast. I managed only 52.5 mpg coming home instead of my "normal" 57+. But, my life time clicked up to 51.9. I'll probably drop back a tenth because of the wind tomorrow. 1 GrySql reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted July 2, 2014 My current tank is not looking so good due to the weather here(and my wife driving it a few days). Its only at 43, which is better than it was the other day at 39, only because I was able to get a few 48-50 MPG trips in. I got another 50 this morning, which makes me happy, it is so easy to do it now. 1 Sleddog reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted July 7, 2014 Here's a highway trip from last night. Because of holiday weekend traffic on the interstate heading back to Mpls we only did a short stretch on it. Most of this driving was on 65 MPH highways and 55 MPH county roads. The temp was about 80 and the AC was on. We were helped by having the wind behind us. Going northwest earlier in the day with the wind out of the west we only managed 41 MPG driving 65-70 on the interstate depending on traffic. Round trip for the day was just above 45 MPG. 3 corncobs, ptek and Sleddog reacted to this
Ted Swing Report post Posted July 7, 2014 The summer heat here has required a lot of AC which has been rough on my MPG but I did have a bright spot on my trip to Flagstaff this weekend: Admittedly, this was possible due to a steep grade, but I thought it was still pretty cool. I made it 8 miles straight without burning gas. 3 GrySql, corncobs and hybridbear reacted to this

We have a daughter/family in Litchfield Park, near the Wigwam, that we visit a lot too. The FFH makes it a pleasant drive.

Hybrider Report post Posted July 19, 2014 (edited) Here are pics of my personal best MPGs for these approximate distances. Keep in mind that, even though these trips were not really what you would call downhill trips, they were, at least for the first few miles of each trip, having decreasing elevation since I live on the edge of a very shallow, many-mile-across valley. Each of these trips also had favorable traffic and traffic light conditions, and were on city streets with mostly 45 MPH speed limits. The last trip, which was the longest at 26.9 miles, and which achieved 62.3 MPG, was even during the mid-day summer desert temps approaching 100°. As a footnote, my current lifetime dash average is 44.6 MPG. But I have been able to get it to start increasing lately once again, even though it is in the summer desert heat, by taking the backroad city street routes whenever my time schedule permits. Today, with a high of about 105° and the morning commute temp at about 90°, my ~25 mile commute to work averaged out on the dash to about 48 MPG...with the inbound, morning temp, highway, and decreasing elevation commute trip at ~50 MPG, and the outbound, early-evening high temp, city streets, and increasing elevation commute at ~46 MPG. So in summary, my ~50 mile total commute trip today, in summer desert temps with half highway (65 MPH) and half city (~43 MPH average), was at 48 MPG average, 1 MPG above the old 47 MPG rating. :yahoo: Edited July 19, 2014 by Hybrider 2 corncobs and hybridbear reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted July 20, 2014 Right now my current tank is sitting at 47 MPG, however the wife is taking the car today and going to be putting at least 100 miles on it, so there goes hope of another another high MPG tank. :( 1 gadgetguy reacted to this

acdii Report post Posted July 20, 2014 Well I am happy that I, ME that is, can see 47 in the car. Sometimes my wife does great in the car, when she pays attention, so she blames it on other drivers when she does poorly. When I mention it she just rolls her eyes at me. DeeCee Report post Posted July 21, 2014 Back to topic - Latest fill-up yielded 49.4 mpg actual (car reported 50.8), best tank this year for me. Don't do anything special driving wise, just engage Eco/ACC and enjoy the ride. After 26,792 miles my lifetime actual is45.5 mpg while the car's computer reports 47.5. Yes, I'm happy with what I am getting. 5 gadgetguy, hybridbear, Sleddog and 2 others reacted to this
