Neither will any front ones if they are covered by slush/snow deposits. If you're crazy enough to use cruise control, when these go out, cruise dies.

Exact fit? Doubtful unless you're running 16" rims. Read previous posts on this page ... look at your rim size and you have your answer. It's going to be either 17" or 18" - most likely 18. Just check it and you will know. The info is all here.

I have nothing to contribute as to cause of issues, but I would remind you ... like Medical stuff, you can get a second opinion. Ie., go to another dealer if you are not happy with the one you use now.

Why Ford is stopping making sedans in North America
Cobra348 replied to mwr's topic in News & Reviews
Without any discount plan applied, Fiestas were a $750/car profit. I know this from talking with my dealers when I purchased my cars. I have to assume (bad word but appropriate) that because a Fusion costs 2+ times as much the profit HAS to be higher as well. Didn't say the cars were pristine at all ... only that they looked a lot better than <ahem> other vehicles. There are Fusions around going back to 2010 at least. Older Focus models as well. This is a semi-rural area with a lot of farming. While Trucks and SUVs are kings on the road, any car being driven is most likely an all-weather vehicle. Our average snowfall is 10' per season but there have been (miserable) days with that amount of fall. -
Why Ford is stopping making sedans in North America
Cobra348 replied to mwr's topic in News & Reviews
10 sedans at $1000 profit each (example) versus 1 Mustang with same total profit. They get their money ... so they don't want to sell units? One of the posters had a good point ... the amount of Fusions, Focus on the roads. Around here, it's easy for me to go the 5 miles across town and see several Fusion (some FFH), Focus and Fiestas. And they are in much better condition than the parking lot offroader trucks I see. -
Extended Warranty
Cobra348 replied to HybridFFH502A's topic in Owner's Manuals, Warranties and User Guides
I've used Flood Ford in the past for extended plans. This car has no extended plan ATM and I'm not sure I want to one. -
I believe the point here is this: a 2019 FFH with an ICE that runs perhaps 50% of the time will not gain a damn thing fron injector cleaner. I used injector cleaner once ... on a 2001 Dodge Neon with 140K miles. Worked well. And it was a damn good investment. On a car with perhaps less than 30K? Not so.
-
Good points Tire pressure definitely affects mileage. I use OEM Michelin LRR tires with very good results. Winter kills me tho as they are Goodyear UltraGrips that are directional tread and non-LRR.
-
IMO injector cleaners aren't needed for such a new car. I had a '15. then a '17 and now a '20. Somewhere between '17 and '19/'20 models they seem to have changed things in fuel economy. I don't separate city vs highway so only really look at combined driving. I have noted that when using cruise, the ECO mode seems to deliver better MPG than before. As for city driving, I do notice a drop of 1 or 2 10ths of an MPG but then it comes back once I can get over 30-40 range. Right now my displayed computer MPG is around 48.2, however using receipts from fillups I can assure you that is quite generous. But I do meet EPA minimum recommendations. I do not use what might be called best practices in all things hybrid. I'm as consistent as can be in braking but the rest is whatever happens. Three FFHs and never used injector cleaner. Three Fiestas prior to that and never used injector cleaner. Over 200K miles total between all of them. End remark ... it's your car. Do what you want if you think it will help.

Sync 4.4 Downgrade Files?
Cobra348 replied to fusionlegend69's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
As long as they have been in business you'd think they can avoid turning a unit into a brick. Also, for the money paid to subscribe I think loss of service deserves a bit of a refund ... don't you? -
Sync 4.4 Downgrade Files?
Cobra348 replied to fusionlegend69's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I wonder if this is what I have as a problem. Sirius stopped playing in the middle of a song ... no update message that I could see. Cannot get any station AND I switched to FM to see if it was my unit ... now I can't even get to Sirius. Did not try Pandora or the like, but USB/MP3 is working. -
In all his 65 years my brother has had only 2 Fords ... both FFH - a '13 and now an '18. His '13 was 3 months old when he was following a flatbed at 55 while on his way home from work. A car was weaving in the oncoming lane and both he and the truck moved right to give extra room. That car hit the front rear tire of the flatbed, bounced back and speeds being what they were, impacted my brothers car at the B pillar and continued down the left side. The driver following this car was on the phone with 911 when the collision started. I have the photos of the crash scene. There was a rather impressive debris trail of rear bumper cover, left-rear tire and suspension, plus miscellaneous pieces. Add to that that he was turned 90 degrees and the rear of the car was in a drainage ditch ... causing a nice "scalping" of the grass roadside. Driver airbag and knee plus side curtain bags all went off. When everything stopped, he shut off the car and climbed out. All of the witnesses were shocked. His remark? "The damn car was functioning perfectly even while getting totaled!" Once everything was settled, he got a replacement - identical to the one wiped out. Put about 100K on it then traded for an '18 Platinum. The other driver? She went to the hospital because airbags only deploy once and hers did when she hit the truck. She was texting and driving. Bet she ain't doing THAT any more. This was in NC.

The mirrors fold MANUALLY on FFH from at least '15 up. I know as I have used them often.
-
see my post to lrymal ... FFH does have folding mirrors. They're manual.
-
I had a '15 hybrid, a '17 hybrid and now a '20. All had MANUALLY folding mirrors on both sides. If you are in the car, lower the drivers window, grasp the mirror about where the puddle light is, pull toward you. I do this all the time when going thru an ATM so I can get close without having to get out of the car to do this or that. As far as clipping something, if you hit it hard enough to break the mirror then your depth perception is way off. I've nicked posts and the mirror just folded a bit and usually popped right back out.

I use two tire sets. The OEM tread in non-Winter months and Goodyear UltraGrip ICE snow tires in Winter. With OEM tread, ECO cruise mode and damn little hypermiling, I'm getting 40+ tank MPG, lifetime is 49.8 and climbing. I run the tires at 40 PSI cold ... not higher because I want a contact patch.
-
I've gotten to where I fill up about every 10 days or so. I'm doing somewhat less driving but also the MPG is still on the rise from the warm weather and the OEM tread I mounted. I still have about a half tank from filling up a week ago. I know that the car computer is "generous" on MPG but this tank has the possibility of hitting over 620 miles before needing to be fed. <shrug> Lifetime is about 50 but does fluctuate some.

2020 Ford Escape Hybrid EPA MPG
Cobra348 replied to My2cents's topic in Lounge - Off Topic Discussion
I'll keep the FFH for a while (2-3 years) then trade. I've been scoping the Hyundai Sonata hybrid, but it needs to be closer to me pulling the trigger to try it on for size. Sonata is the forerunner in a short list of hybrids. -
Inquiring about a used fusion hybrid
Cobra348 replied to jmlohrenz's topic in 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid
Just a comparison between the prior '17 and the current '20 using cruise. I think they have done something to tweak ECO mode on cruise. I don't have to fight to get it in ECO when I know it could/should be on flat highway. Tanks are running about 50% ev which is about right. The 17 was a fight to get above 40% ev. A 95 mile trip between Oswego, NY and west side of Rochester, NY is getting over 52 MPG when the '17 was hard pressed to get over 40. No changes in routes traveled - locally or trips. No changes to driving style, except I'm using ECO mode on the '20. I did some testing on the '17 and found normal mode to better than eco on that car. Because of the higher mileage with no pattern changes and the increased ev % on full tanks I gotta think they tweaked something. The numbers I'm getting are better than the '15 I had and that hit maybe 46 MPG on the run to/from Rochester. Downside to eco ... slow acceleration and you might need to goose it some. Especially visible on the uphill. Also, eco has a tendency to "level off" about 1 MPH lower than cruise is set for (ie., 54 MPH when 55 is set and visible). Small irritants to me, tho might not be to others. -
Which replacement years are compatible? 2013 Fusion Energi
Cobra348 replied to Ncsugrad2002's topic in eCVT / Transmission
Have you guys asked a Service Advicor or a Parts Department rep at a dealer about this? No charge for their info you know. As for the tranny, I would think a 2013+ Energi as donor would be good, however I'm at an age where I let the mechanics do it. I worked my own cars enough thru the years. -
Inquiring about a used fusion hybrid
Cobra348 replied to jmlohrenz's topic in 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid
If this is your first time with a hybrid, take a bit of time and the owner manual. With the car running in Park, go thru every screen and button to see what it looks like/does. Use manual for reference. Don't change anything. Then go thru again and make any setting changes you want., In the '15 I had it took me about 90 minutes to look it all over and set stuff. Also, the various screens in the dash cluster have small help info too. -
I do this when heading to FL or NC from my place in NY. I take I-81S to I-77S and 77 has one hell of downhill. Worked pretty well.
-
See what Carfax can find in the area as well. Never know what can show up.

Inquiring about a used fusion hybrid

I'm with mwr on this. They're dependable and I only had a door keypad DOA on my prior '17. You should be fine with either one.
