In a word: nope. My most common set-it-off times are exiting the car. As much a nuisance as it is, it's a handy way of finding the car in a parking garage ... "now where the $%^$% is that car?" scenario.

In the '15+ models - maybe yours too - one of the small screens in the dash has a MyView screen. It's in 2 parts and each can be configured independent of the other. Might wanna see if that works for you. Mine displays temp ... and I forget what else. <shrug> Grab the owners manual and spend time learning all the buttons and what they do. It took me over an hour on my '15. Best damn time I spent ... learned a lot. Also the small screens seem to have short "Help" explanations of what they do.

So how come I get 37 months only on the OEM unit? This is ridiculous because I know batteries can go a long time. Hell, my son's Fiesta is still on the OEM battery 8 years later.

A charger is hard to do ... I rent and there is no outside outlet to plug into. I could use an inside one by the door but running an extension cord past 2 doorways through a heavily traveled area is not good - even with the safety gizmos to cover cords with. I've got booster cables and am backing the car into the parking area so the hood is accessible. <shrug>

I just started getting the "System off" message. Local Goodyear will be replacing the 12v on Nov 1. Manager and I looked thru their shop data and I pointed out my trunk arrangement as compared to Prius and other hybrids. She told me they've done 4 Prius replacements in 2 weeks - about half are 3 years old. It ain't just FFH. My problem ... the car is literally just 3years and a month or so old. WTH? How do you guys get 5 and 6 years on OEM battery and the others of us don't? And OM was worthless in giving even a hint about the issue.

2010 FFH - Stop Safely Now - ICE loses power
Cobra348 replied to bmac2822's topic in 2010-2012 Fusion Hybrid
12v in the trunk is fun ... someone looking under the hood goes "where's the battery? how the heck do you jump start it if needed?" Then I point out the terminals. I'm warped - I love doing that. -
Look at sticky threads! There's a lot of info in them. I read until my eyes were almost falling out, but the education I got was a real shortcut in some things.

Yup - Fusion 2013 or newer. Make sure you get all the parts (assembly unit, etc). I've got one that will not fit in the well of my '20. They dorked around and there all sorts of roadblocks. If you are in the Central NY area, I'm willing to part with it.

Low Speed Sound Requirement on Fusion HEV and PHEV
Cobra348 replied to markn455's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
Unknown - probably electronic generation. Can be heard front and rear up to a few feet. Stays on in any gear except Park until 20 MPH. -
Low Speed Sound Requirement on Fusion HEV and PHEV
Cobra348 replied to markn455's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
We both have '20s and it may have been introduced that model year and not on the '19s. Toyota RAV4s have a melodic chime-like sound. To me, Fusion sounds almost like angry wasps. I think it's called "quiet motor warning" because pedestrians seem to not recognize a hybrid on electric that is stopped a foot or 2 away from them. So they now make noises to remind them. -
I agree with Waldo on the last-run cost cutting. Example: The FFH (and FFE) models had a door badge announcing Hybrid - in case trunk got smashed and first responders needed to know. The '20 models - FFH and FFE do not have it. Costs $100 to get them put on. I know the '18s have it, not sure on '19s. I do know '20 FFE does not have them ... there's one in town I see periodically. Intelligent access ribs are not present on the rear doors, so you need the fob or front door to unlock the back ones instead of just hand pressure. There's more I'm sure but these are off the top of my head.
-
Check your trunk space - it is less than the Fusion Hybrid (non-plugin) because the battery is so huge. Essentially where there is a passthru over the FFH battery, there is none in the FFE. My brother checked one a couple years ago and determined having his hybrid was the right step.

Did it fade and/or go away as you went downhill or slowed down? I had a harmonic hum on my '17 FFH that gained/faded as speed changed. Turned out to be a loose belly panel. Refastening it fixed everything.

Really hot weather I leave the window cracked about 1/8th inch to allow heated air to escape. Also, before going to the car, I drop all windows via the key fob and usually the really hot air is gone by the time I hit the drivers seat. Added: get in-track window deflectors - I got mine from Weathertech - and you can crack the window without precipitation getting in. Front ones you can do in the driveway, I elected to have the rear ones done at a shop because of the fooling around with the window seals and some clips, etc. I had cooled seats on my '15 Titanium FFH. TBH, I got more use out of the heated seat option in the Winter! <grin> While I'm happy with my current options, I miss the heated wheel for Winter use, but to get it I needed to take a moonroof as well. Nope. Not for me. Carvana is under close scrutiny for shady dealings so I would steer clear. I just generally steer clear of all that crud even if it does cost me a bit more.

Welp, I'll go with the consensus then. 1.4 it is.
-
I like that comparison. The only question I have is on the HVB capacity. The site says 1.4 kwh but I was under the impression it was 1.7 kwh. That could be my error, tho. Owners Manual has nothing. <shrug>

I would suggest a 2019 or 2020 SEL. The only option available was the moonroof. Nav and all the other stuff is there. I have a '20. As to your question, since I do not wish to have glass over my head as well as around me, I would elect the SEL. SE trim does not have the standard features of the other two trims. Also, if looking at a 2019, the color named "Rich Copper" was a 1-year color and cost about $400 more MSRP. The black you are seeing is called "Agate Black" I believe and is standard no-charge color. I'm not tickled with it as compared to "Tuxedo Black" of yesteryear (replaced in 2016). Keep in mind as well that price differentials between trim lines will probably play into pricing. The $2500 difference you note is most likely due to the large amount of amenities on the Titanium as compared to SE. If I had only those 2, I would take the Titanium for the extras even tho I dislike the moonroof and the mileage.

Think Ford might die now? Oh people's short memories.

Go to Hyundai.com, select vehicles link at top. You will find Ioniq listed under SUVs. Prius is too small, thus Camry which is closer to FFH size. -

Cobra348 replied to Sky14FFH's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
This statement fragment is why I originally quoted you. I've consistently stated Fords computers are generous as compared to receipt calcs. My mileage has dropped a couple because a local tire manager convinced me a certain tread was as good as EOM. And they don't like installing tread they don't sell. I have communicated my distaste for their tread and made it clear next tires will be EOM - probably mounted elsewhere more accomodating. I'm more comfy in sedans or coupes. I have driven SUVs as loaners and am highly uncomfortable in them - plus crappy mileage as compared to the FFH. -

I do not want an SUV, Station Wagon, Pickup or the like. I want a passenger car and that's why I am looking at those choices. Sonata Blue can get up to 54 MPG based on specs but there are some amenities not available on that trim so I'm looking at SEL trim which could hit 51. The estimated average MPG is still higher than FFH - in all three options. -

I've been looking at Hyundai Sonata, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry hybrids. I'm leaning toward Hyundai but will still look at other possibilities. -
Page 84 of 2020 Fusion/Energi owners manual (Dec 2019): "To close the windows and moonroof, press and hold the remote control lock button. Release the button once movement starts. Press the lock or unlock button to stop movement." I assume this will work but I have not personally used it. I have used the opposite - open all windows. That works well and is great in Summer.

36mpg in mixed. Don't know how people get 40mpg.
Cobra348 replied to Staves's topic in 2017-Current Ford Fusion Hybrid
I run 40 psi cold .... did on the OEM tires and do on the snows I use. I'm lazy and don't want to keep checking pressure so I can usually go 2-3 months when at 40. This pressure is well below the MFGR max and runs just as well. The OEM tires finally ran out of tread so a new set will be installed Mar 24 - Goodyear ComfortDrive. Supposedly as good as the Michelins but this I gotta see - and there is a 30-day satisfaction period. -
Indexing MP3s in Sync is wrong
Cobra348 replied to Cobra348's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Futzing around, I finally stumbled on a way to get accurate tallies of what is on the MP3. When refreshing the thumb drive, quick format it. When that finishes, rename the volume to something. Then copy tunes to the UB device. When inserted into the car, SYNC is forced to reindex because the volume name change fakes it out. Have not had a failure since I started this process. Am up to 2425 tunes now.
