  1. You know ... the grill can be swapped out for a Fusion Sport grille from 2017. They are not cheap when bought new, but in a salvage yard you might save. The front faschia needs to be removed for access to the clips, but the Sport stuff will fit nicely. My '17 had that nice black Sport grill. And before you ask ... the grille would not fit on my '20. They changed the clip locations. Otherwise it would be on the '20.
  2. I got talked into trying Goodyear ComfortTread instead of the Michelins - as non-Winter tread. The Goodyears are quiet, but there is a drop in mileage of at least 2 MPG. I'm gonna insist on Michelins as soon as I can wear these down! <grin> Winter is another matter - Goodyear UltraGrip WRT snow tires all around. With the crappy weather, non-Michelin treat and fuel changes for Winter I lose about 6 MPG easily. I need the snows though as we tend to get more than a couple feet at times. Def stick with the Michelins.
  3. In the thread that 2014FordFusionSE linked in, look at the third post in the thread - from jeff_h. It's basically these - twice. But it does work!
  4. Just as 2014FordFusionSE says ... but what I've used is what I did on my old Fiesta. Basically the same except I held the button for a count of 3 before releasing. Steps would be something like ... 1. With window up, fully press and hold down button 2. When all the way down, hold for 3 seconds 3. Pull and hold the button for up 4. When all up, hold for 3 seconds I think the hold cycle just sets the operation. On the Fiesta if I didn't do that it still screwed up. I assume other Fords are same. <shrug>
  5. My '15 had a mobility kit that I replaced with a compact spare. My prior '17 used the spare in place of its kit ... and I found on the '20 that some "tailoring" is needed to make the spare work in the car. Sooo, the TMK was not a decontenting, but a never was IMO.
  6. Dirty limestone? I'm not sure. I'd say a real light putty - like the old IBM PCs used to be colored, but that also fails. TBH I never really considered it!
  7. Steeda has a rear sway bar that swaps into the stock position using the OEM fasteners. Problem is the zerk fittings on them get rusted from winter driving. But funny, my ex-girl who is a DEVOUT Camaro owner (back to '69) sait adding the brace seemed to get the Fusion handling improved. We tested it out on the twists of US 9 frm Queensbury to Pottersville, NY. Fun run.
  8. I like it! If you want to decrease body roll a bit, add a Strut Tower Brace from Steeda. Steering tightens up a small bit but body roll is decreased. Driveway install. The Steeda hood struts allow open hood without using the bar ... also driveway install.
  9. I can help a little ... Decontenting - 1. most irritating for me was losing the battery approx charge display. That is gone - all you get is the battery with the regen swirly thing. 2. Some (not all) FFH for '19 did not have door badge of "Hybrid". No '20s had them (not even Energi). 3. Don't call it decontenting but the small screen displays have shifted slightly ... MyView is in the left screen making the right screen displays the Fuel History, Accel/Brake/Cruise and Efficiency vines only. Basing this on '20 as '19 and '20 were most of the changes in features, etc. 4. '19 saw removal of the Parking Assist module. I'm thinking that was not popular - and I never used it myself. I do miss the extra sensors it added, tho. SEL - for '19 they changed trim lines by combining features and standardizing some. SEL was mid trim line in '19 and '20. I believe Titanium was top end and includes Platinum. SEL for '19 and '20 include all features as standard and have only the moonroof as optional gear. Titanium includes all plus moonroof. Seating and Screen - SEL had leather as option. As for screen, I've not had issues with the stack screen since my '15 so I can't say whether it's larger or not. That's best I can do. Perhaps someone else can chime in (and probably tell me I'm full of it). Good luck!
  10. It's linked in the post from billford above yours. Works fine - I just tried it.
  11. If I remember correctly, he has an FFH. can't recall year.
  12. Battery checks out fine ... 12.93 volts. In fact, what has happened to this screen is that the MPG gauge that is to the right side of the screen is gone and the power usage part of the Empower display wraps all around ... with the yellow bars where the bottom of the MPG gauge would have been. Ie., the entire display is borked. Time for a dealer run I think.
  13. There are plenty of ups and downs along the route, but this appeared during a flat-ground run. It has not gone away - even at city speeds. It doesn't seem to affect the car operation, but the fact it appears 2-1/2 years after buying it - and it never happened on prior cars - has me puzzled. I've even wondered if the throttle position sensor could be going wonky. <shrug>
  14. I usually use the Empower screen in the left side of the speedo. Today it started displaying things in a strange way. Lemme fill in the backstory. On my '15, '17 and now my '20 FFH, the frame and bar for EV never went above the second bar. When on hybrid drive, the white bar went above second bar when I used the gas pedal. All that was expected. Today, the EV frame was hitting above the third mark, as did the fill bar. The white hybrid drive bar went past the 4th bar. In no instance was I leaning on the gas. In fact I was on cruise (eco) running mostly 50 - 65 MPH, sunny weather, temps 65-70 or so. Showing the Power Flow app, everything looked normal - charge when expected, discharge as well. Now, I've driven this car since Sep 2019 and clocked a lot of miles on prior FFH models. Never have I seen this happen. Anyone got a clue on this? Thanks
  15. Resurrecting this one again. I got the 'System off to save battery' message yesterday - on the battery thsat was put in in October. This morning it was dead as all get-out. Had to use the key to get in. No power to anything. Got the 12v jumped ... as soon as the charger pack was turned on, everything worked. Car started immediately. Took it to the local Goodyear (it's their battery - warranty) where they went over it again. What the mechanic noted on the work invoice was that trying to get a voltage reading was difficult. Whatever tool he was using reported electrical static or interference. Took about 8 tries to get a reading. Battery is good, proper voltage, etc. Soooo, based on the last couple days, I think it is NOT the battery but perhaps a short somewhere. Has anyone - and I mean ANYONE - had this happen and what was the cause? I have a couple dealers in the area, an extended service plan (car is about 45K miles), so I'm feeling comfortable. But I'd like to speak somewhat intelligently when I approach them. Got a clue for a clueless one? <grin> Thanks!
  16. Then I strongly suggest sticking with the vehicle you have now. The warning tones are going to be part of future vehicles and that will not ever make you happy. Be happy with your current situation.
  17. did not know that ... I have learned something to try! Woot!
  18. I think that is why the push to get the warning stuff. Also, if it was disabled somehow by the owner, does that void warranties if it is discovered? And what about the next driver(s) to get the vehicle expecting the warning to be there and it's not. <shrug> To me it's annoying only until I hit 20 .
  19. I have an S22 as well, but I do not keep music on it mainly due to the amount I have (almost 2600 MP3 files). What I do use is a simple flash drive plugged into one of the USB ports. Once registered to SYNC, use the sources button on the center screen to select the USB drive and let it go. The USB method does not allow track jumping, etc ... but if a tune does start you don't want, use the left/right button on the steering wheel. Also if you use this method and update the USB drive, I suggest the following: 1. quick format the USB 2. name the volume something other than what it was (*) 3. copy the files you want to the USB 4. when first used in SYNC after all the above, use the shuffle button for SYNC to shuffle-play stuff (*) renaming the volume forces SYNC to reindex the files, whereas if you do not, some of the files will be missed in the count that is displayed (playing #135 of 2550 which is shown as 135/2550).
  20. Best advice I can offer is something I read here 6-7 years ago. Sit in the car, engine running, manual at hand. On each screen (speedo flankers and center stack) look to see what each setting is and read any help that is with it. Don't change anything, but do note what you want to look closer at. This may take you long enough that you'll need to restart the engine. Second time through, go to the settings you want to change and make it happen. This is also where you want to pair your phone to the car if you want to. All of this may take you an hour or 2 but it's time well spent and you'll know where things are. Of course use the manual to help out. Welcome to the wonderful world Ford Fusion Hybrids. They're interesting "critters". I spent a week in the peninsula area back in the '90s. Loved it. Nice countryside.
  21. First, it only sounds when under 20 MPH, so it doesn't last long. Second, as a safety feature that has been requested thru safety channels as a desire, why not? Third, if you don't have a '20 FFE or FFH you won't hear it as a driver. It's really not that bad so why not just suck it up and accept it? Most if not all hybrids will be going that route anyway. And you know EVs will.
  22. In general I agree with Semi but the tires have wear bars and you should look to see how close the tread is to exposing them. They are there to advise when you should get new tires. Also, the tires on you car - Michelin Energy Saver - are low resistance tires and will supply better mileage than tires not LRR. If your mileage is not a concern, by all means go with the Firestones when you need to. But you will lose several MPG when you do switch. My mileage dropped 3 MPG when I shifted from the 17" version of the Energy Saver to Goodyear ComfortTread (allegedly as good). The local Goodyear Manager insisted those tires were as good as Michelins. Nope ... and I showed her the figures from a couple tanks as compared to generally same mileage tanks. My next tires will be Michellins ordered from TireRack and drop shipped to my Goodyear store for mounting.
  23. Something I do that has lessened things for me: key ring and fob in left pocket. Fob is separate and turned so I can hit the lock button with my thumb (button side facing thigh). Right pocket holds change, other small misc items.
  24. I can answer this for me - at least. Yes. The problem is the button tops are flush to the fob itself so anything that even slightly depresses the button can activate it. The panic button is at the bottom of the fob where the housing is getting a bit thinner. I've had the non-flip-out key fobs on all of my FFHs and they all had the same issues.
  25. On mileage, base MPG on receipts and not the car. I have found that the car is as much as 4 MPG over what I really got. For tires ... 17" rims are typically Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires ... 225/50-R17 size. These are low rolling resistance. I'm not sure what comes on the 18" rims, but I would guess perhaps Michelin as well. It seems to be Fords brand choice on FFH. For first tank however, you did quite well.
