  1. Be prepared to replaced the TPMS sensor and stuff when you finally decide to deal with the tire. That goop in the kit doesn't just pass through. And that is why I have a compact spare instead of that crap. I'm too cheap to spend another $70-95 on valve stem, sensor and stuff in addition to a tire (repair or replace).
  2. Back a few messages, the OP posted a link to some pics. One of them is his settings where Battery display should be. Then jump to the one where I ask for Waldo to chime in. I describe my setup in the paragraph starting with "hphong2003". Battery display is the toggle that switches the SOC display on or off, whereas Regen display turns on/off the swirly thing that tells you regen is working. SIDE THOUGHT: Why can't Ford or the dealerships tell these folks that Waldo says complained about it to just RTFM? RTFM - Read The F* Manual
  3. See? That's why I asked ya to jump in. You have info/perspective I and probably others don't have. But I can't figure out how people can gripe about something they can turn off and end the confusion. <shakes head> I can tell ya ... if SOC is not in the settings of a '20 FFH (and I'm doubting it), then the current car will be my last Ford. Oh well.
  4. Welp, my brother reports his '18 has the SOC battery display on his - same as my '17 - and in the same spot in the settings. hphong2003 - comparing your pic of the screen to mine, I have battery display between brake coach and regen display. Now here's what has me wondering ... if SOC display is not available, why would there be a setting for regen display? Regen display is a swirly thingy that shows regen is happening. Soooo, here's what I'm wondering: did they alter regen display to include SOC? does your controlling computer need a reprogramming or replacement due to missing options? I cannot see them leaving a regen display without something to show how much regen (SOC). ARG! Man, I kinda wish I had a '19 out front! ======= Waldo? Need your input on this. I just looked at the OM for '19 models and the SOC display should be in Settings ==> Display ==> Battery display just as I stated above. If the OP hasn't got it, could he be needing a computer reprogramming as I noted above? '19 FFH/Energi OM has this info on page 104-105. OP left screen is in the link up above. Would you concur? thanks!
  5. Within that regen setting are there perhaps that plus SOC display? I'm wondering if they changed all the damn software - again. It was changed between '15 and '17 model years ... but not like omission of the SOC.
  6. I went to my parts department and explained the discussion here. This is what I learned: We are all correct! The insulator - or hood blanket as I call it - may or may not be on your car. The way to find out if it should be is take your VIN to your dealer parts folks. Have them look up the part individually so they have a part number in hand. Then get a Bill of Materials (BOM) for your car and have them quickly search that for the insulator part#. If the BOM has it listed - and your car does not have one, head for service to set up an appointment to get one installed. The lack of one when you should have it is a factory defect. If the BOM does not have it - then for some reason your car is not supposed to have it. In this case, the insulator and the clips for it can be purchased as a kit for about $165 plus tax. Have service install it or DIY in the driveway. Parts.ford.com is inaccurate in many linkages between parts and cars. If you are unsure, see your parts folks at the dealer. If you look back in this thread, you will find I did a VIN search of my car and was told the part is not in it - but it is and I can prove it. <shrug> Source: Parts Department, West Herr Ford, Rochester, NY
  7. This is the SOC as I understand it as well. hphong2003 - I didn't give you enough info as to where to find this display item. Left screen ==> Settings ==> Display ==> Battery display is where I believe you will find the setting. This is the path on my '17. Once you've set this, as you back out you may want to look at the other stuff in this grouping.
  8. The price difference between my '17 that does not have moonroof or nav but does have everything else ... and a similarly equipped '19 SEL is about $2000. Comparing my window sticker to Ford.com build pages - sans incentives. I'm still debating on a '20 SEL but 2 issues are nagging me - thanks to this forum: 1. hood insulator. Does it exist on the '19 or not? We've had differing views on that and I'll find out this coming weekend. The dealer has a '19 FFH on the lot and I'll look. 2. Someone mentioned lack of SOC info on the '19. I want to see if it is there or not and I'll use the same FFH at the dealer to determine that. I think that's one of the things in left screen --> information or something. <shrug>
  9. Wow! Only 55K miles on a '12? That is a good deal. My '17 has almost 52K. I'm in snow country and with snow tires (not all-season) the FFH handles quite well - even in 8+ inches of unplowed snow. I'm not a fan of SUVs so when it's time for the current ride to go, it'll be a hybrid from someone else. There has to be a PHEV that'll fit your needs - other than Escape. Good luck! EDIT: Went to Ford site and looked at the '20 Escape. Ford.com ==> Vehicles ==> Future vehicles ==> 2020 Escape. There is a drop-down on the left that has hybrid as a selection. In the displays of the stuff there is this: "Available AWD Disconnect Designed to help save fuel, All-Wheel Drive Disconnect allows for the disconnection of the rear driveline when the system detects AWD is not needed. This allows only the front wheels to propel the vehicle, therefore reducing drag and the overall energy demands of the drivetrain." However, nothing says anything about tis being PHEV or not - just hybrid. When they get the build pages up, you might want to check again.
  10. Okay, all you parts catalog guys ... help me out here. I went looking for that insulation mat/pad or whatever in parts.ford.com. I found it in the diagram for Body ==> Other body parts - front ==> page 2, part 16071 (insulator). The mat part is in the upper left of the diagram and if I read the call-out tag (yellow square) correctly, the mat is part 16746. Entering that into the part# search box returns - this part does not fit your vehicle. What did I do wrong? I searched initially by VIN. I also have searched by year/make/model - 2017/Ford/Fusion. I get the same results. I looked in Body ==> Hoods and found part with 16738 diagram showing the same call-out (yellow square) with 16746 as the part number.. So why does it tell me 16746 is not for my car when (if my call-out reading is good) my car has that part installed on the hood?
  11. Good point and one I hadn't considered. <dopeslaps self> This confirms what Waldo said. <shakes head> For me, that's a deal-breaker. That piece is partially fire retardant, deadens noise from the engines and helps hold heat in when it's cold out. I live in a snowbelt and will not accept a car without one. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Then again, not putting one in justifies the $2000 price difference between my car and the new ones (cheaper) I guess.
  12. I am assuming you checked vehicle settings (left screen)? SOC is a toggle on my '17 and was on my prior '15. In both cases it was OFF when I got the cars.
  13. I'm still up in the air about getting a '20 FFH as last new Ford I ever own. Have looked at Honda, Toyota, Chevy (Malibu) as well as others for hybrids.. Good choices out there. Electric ... infrastructure stinks right now. Distance on full charge also stinks. Why would I buy a vehicle with 200-250 mile range then have to wait 6-8 hours perhaps to recharge, then rinse & repeat - when I have 600+ mile range on 13 gallons of gas? Also, if you charge your electric at home, the increase in your electric bill needs to go toward cost of ownership. No one says anything about that in any pro-electric articles, do they? Hybrids for me for the foreseeable future ... just not Ford after some point.
  14. Had myt O2 sensor replaced and was talking with a couple advisors about this. There should be a hood insulator on every Fusion - hybrid or gas. If the original owner discovers there isn't one, it should be ordered and installed at a dealer. Odds are warranty coverage, thus no charge. Not sure on the weatherstripping, tho ... seems to be a mixed bag for that one. @hphong2003 - head to the dealer and make arrangements to get one. Lack of one is factory defect according to my service folks. Edit: Forget it. It appears Ford deleted that part from '19+ models. See following posts.
  15. I double-checked my car as compared to this pic. I have not only the weatherstripping shown here, but the lead edge of the hood also has some - in addition to the insulator. Belt-and-suspenders construction?
  16. Did some checking with my brother ... his '13 FFH SE had insulator His current '18 FFH Platinum has an insulator My prior '15 HyTi had an insulator My current '17 has an insulator Based on this I would suggest going back to the dealer and looking under the hood of other Fusions on the lot. If they have insulators and yours doesn't, get one added. Should be warranty under the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper. I'll ask my dealer if I can look at his stock when I'm there next week ... they're 80 miles away. <shrug>
  17. If you're right I'll have it checked July 1st. I have an inspection scheduled and it'll be on the lift. I had the loose panel issue on my '15 from this same reason ... but it was a low-pitched hum at 45+ that got louder or weaker as speed changed. My issue is pretty steady after about 40.
  18. Huh. I haven't checked them closely but to me it should be there. I'd ask the dealer how come it isn't. I remember my '15 had one, my current '17 has one.
  19. I have a wind noise from the right front door when I'm over 40 or so. It's kind of irritating. My guess is the weatherstripping is not right somehow but it sure looks it.
  20. In answer to the original question. The 2019 MY for Fusion is NOT the last year. There will be a 2020 model but it will essentially be a '19. Orders can be placed starting in July according to my dealer.
  21. Yup - they put one on in '19 MY. Well, Fords version of a sharkfin, ennyhoo.
  22. Also consider that using a personal vehicle/policy to rideshare may set you up for full liability in an accident. Travelers and Progressive - at least - prohibit the use of the insured personal vehicle (on a personal policy) to be used in rideshare and they may refuse any liability claims if so. So, check your insurance policy carefully in the exclusions before committing to either rideshare company. You might want to look into a company policy which I bellieve would cover these. I have Travelers and my son has Progressive ... we have both checked our policies and rideshare is in the excluded from coverage section.
  23. Fiesta made even $500/unit when discounts plans applied. That's from a salesman I bought 4 of them from. Now I'm sorry that profit doesn't meet the 25-30% that Ford want to deliver but it is a profit. Focus made at least a grand, so Fusion has to be somewhere N of that. It's not always that the almighty dollar that should drive EVERYTHING. The SUVs, trucks, Mustang make a lot, but why can't smaller lines help too? I know several truck owners that believe Ford has screwed the pooch ... because their daily driver is a passenger car - usually a Ford.
