Trouble Playing Music Playlists from USB or MP3
FordIVTteam replied to musicmafia's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
iOS 8 has now been tested and added to our compatibility chart. I'm seeing some similarities in the connection behavior throughout all iOS 8 versions. Take a look here to see what features are confirmed to work with your phone: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/device-compatibility-sync-myford-touchwith each version. Kim -

Hi acdii, Since updating to 8.2, have you done the basic troubleshooting steps listed here? Even thought this does sound like an issue with iOS 8, these tips can help after updating (the phone or MyFord Touch): http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/troubleshooting-sync-myford-touch Kim -
New Software Update for Sync
FordIVTteam replied to IraF's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hi Dave, I still do not have an ETA for the update. Continue to check your account at: www.Support.Ford.com for software update availability. Once I have more information, I'll be sure to share it with you all. :) Kim -
After doing a little more testing, it seems that the business search feature on the SYNC Destinations app will only search for businesses in the current state you are located in. If you search for TARGET NEAR MINNEAPOLIS once you're back in Minnesota, you should be able to pull up some results. If you're located in MN, try searching for businesses in different cities within MN and let me know what happens. Keep in mind that SYNC Services will still allow you to do a business search in a different state, but this must be done through voice commands. Once you give the command DIRECTIONS, your system will ask you to name the city and state that you're going to. Next, say BUSINESS SEARCH and follow the prompts given to you. Kim
-
Hey hybridbear, The radius will depend on what you enter in the search bar. The app will attempt to provide you with options closest to your location. For example, I'm located in Dearborn, Michigan. When I search for TARGET, the app provides me with 3 locations within 10 miles. When I search for CHICK-FIL-A (there are no locations in my area), I receive one result that is 38.4 miles away. You can search for businesses in other areas, but you must include the city or zip code in your search criteria. For example, if I change my entry from TARGET to TARGET NEAR CANTON MI, I see results closer to Canton than Dearborn. Kim

Adding a second car on support.ford.com
FordIVTteam replied to md13ffhguy's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hi md13ffhguy, Please send me a PM with your VIN, mobile phone number, and email address. I'd also like to know your wife's VIN, mobile phone number, and email address. If you both plan to use SYNC Services, we will need to set up multiple accounts since only one phone number can be active on an account at a time. I'll let you know what I recommend once I pull up your information :). Thanks for getting my attention, hybridbear! Kim -
iOS8 & Sync/MFT Compatibility

Thanks for sharing your feedback, acdii. When new software is released for a phone, it can certainly impact the way the device interacts with MyFord Touch. Make sure you keep these troubleshooting tips in mind: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/troubleshooting-sync-myford-touch No problem, hybridbear! It can't hurt to try! I am unable to verify this because I can't replicate the issue on my own phone. Test it out and let me know if you notice a difference :). Kim -
Nav In-Dash cluster does not work correctly, POI's
FordIVTteam replied to GrySql's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hey everybody, I do recall speaking to many of you about this concern in the past. Since this does not occur on all MyFord Touch systems, I prefer I gather as much information as possible every time it is reported. If certain features in your right cluster can't be controlled with the steering wheel buttons, check to make sure your software is up to date by logging in at: www.Support.Ford.com If the latest software has been installed and there are still issues with the cluster, I recommend having the dealership take a look at your system. Unfortunately, this can’t be resolved with the basic troubleshooting steps I am able to offer here. Feel free to send me a PM with your VIN and some details about what’s happening and I can let you know which options are available. I’ll also be able to check if your software is up to date. Kim -

iOS8 & Sync/MFT Compatibility
FordIVTteam replied to hybridbear's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Thanks, kbailey990! Basically, it's just the best way to make sure the phone completely shuts down and powers back up :). Kim -
Hi WJM71, This is something that can only be added when the vehicle is being built. Ford does not offer navigation as an aftermarket option. Hey djminfll, As a quick tip, you can cut Samantha (SYNC lady) off if she's talking too much. When she starts speaking, press the VOICE COMMAND button on the steering wheel. SYNC will then skip to the prompt so you can give a voice command. Kim

iOS8 & Sync/MFT Compatibility
FordIVTteam replied to hybridbear's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Thanks for the update. Before performing the master reset, hold the POWER and HOME buttons on the iPhones before you re-pair them to each vehicle to see if you notice any differences. This support page from Apple is also worth taking a look at: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht6473 The master reset will erase everything except the software version. All settings, navigation favorites, radio presets, etc. will be set back to the factory default settings. Kim -

New Software Update for Sync
FordIVTteam replied to IraF's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I verified that the Vehicle Health Report feature is already active on your account. Running a VHR will automatically update our website with the current software version installed in your vehicle. Here are the instructions: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/run-a-vehicle-health-report-sync-myford-touch If you have any trouble running a Vehicle Health Report, you can also use the version checker tool, which can be found here: http://support.ford.com/tools/account/update-center?step=prepare-sa Don’t worry, Dave. It will be back! Is everything running smoothly with your system currently? Let me know if I can help out with anything :). I’m glad the installation went smoothly, Hybrider and Toz. Thanks for sharing your experience! Hi storksb and dmt1971, Although an option to mute has been added for SYNC navigation prompts and the estimated arrival time has been added to the map screen, the MyFord/MyLincoln Touch software level V3.7 is primarily designed to support new features available in markets outside North America, which are not available on earlier models. In the spirit of globalization, North American owners are being given the option to update as well (if they choose to do so). I am unable to speculate on the availability of future product features or updates, but Ford is always looking for opportunities to improve. If you’d like to see a specific feature on your vehicle, post your suggestion here: http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/ Ford’s Product Development Team periodically looks through these ideas for insights and inspiration. Like murphy suggested, make sure you don’t have anything plugged into your OBD port. Common items that plug into this port include insurance tracking dongles or aftermarket gauges. Kim -
New Software Update for Sync
FordIVTteam replied to IraF's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hey everyone, Don't be alarmed if you no longer see the option to download V3.7 from your SYNC account. Some owners were reporting issues extracting the 3.7 .zip file after downloading it. While this concern is being researched, the self-service download is being temporarily removed. I'll let you know when it becomes available again. I also noticed some conversation surrounding V3.7 not being available for certain vehicles. Please note that this specific update is only intended for 2014 and 2015 vehicles equipped with MyFord Touch. Hey ssnacks, If you're having trouble reporting the update with the USB stick, try running a Vehicle Health Report. As long as this feature is active on your account and the active phone number is paired to SYNC, the current software version will be automatically reported back to us. Here are the instructions: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/run-a-vehicle-health-report-sync-myford-touch I'll check my inbox, terryb. Thanks! Kim -
New Software Update for Sync
FordIVTteam replied to IraF's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hi hermans, I think you may have misread the software version. I believe it might say V3.6.2 instead. Send me a PM with the VIN if you'd like me to check for you :). Hey Toz, This issue has been reported by other owners as well. It sounds like the file can't be opened using the standard zip utility built into Windows (Windows Explorer). Our team is currently researching this concern. Other owners have reported that they are able to open the file after installing a 3rd party zip utility such as 7-Zip. If you feel comfortable downloading this, I think it may resolve your concern. Hello Easy Rider, Currently, there is no option to soft reboot your system. Once an update is installed, there is a chance that a master reset will need to be performed. This will erase all information stored in your system including phonebook information, call history, text message information, previously paired phones, saved address points, radio presets, and navigation history. Because of this, I recommend making a note of your settings prior to installing any updates. Hi darrelld, You have already walked through the troubleshooting that I would have recommended. I suggest checking out this support page from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht6473 Other iPhone users have reported that this troubleshooting has resolved their concerns. Hey David Niemeyer, It sounds like the installation went smoothly. I'm glad to hear it! :) Kim -
New Software Update for Sync
FordIVTteam replied to IraF's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hi everybody, Our website was updated over the weekend, so some of you may have noticed new information available on your accounts. The best way to check if an update is available for a specific vehicle is by logging in at: www.Support.Ford.com and clicking UPDATE SYNC SOFTWARE on the right side of the page. Feel free to PM the VIN if you'd like me to check on my end :). To see what is included in an update, click WHAT'S IN THIS UPDATE located under the DOWNLOAD SYNC UPDATE link. Please note, that you will only be able to view information about an update if it is available for your VIN. If anyone runs into any issues checking for, downloading, or installing updates, let me know exactly what's happening and I'll do my best to help. Kim -
iOS8 & Sync/MFT Compatibility
FordIVTteam replied to hybridbear's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hey everyone, So far I've seen a lot of good feedback about iOS 8 connecting to SYNC and MyFord Touch. There have been some minor connection issues reported on other forums, but they seem to be resolved with basic troubleshooting. Check out this link for a few basic tips if you're connecting to MyFord Touch: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/troubleshooting-sync-myford-touch and this one if you're using basic SYNC: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/troubleshooting-sync In order to get the text messaging feature working, make sure you're following these steps: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/how-to-allow-ios-text-messaging-sync-myford-touch Please let me know if you notice anything out of the ordinary or if connection issues persist. Default phone volume when calling Sync Services
FordIVTteam replied to hybridbear's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Since there are no settings within your system which will allow you to choose a default SYNC Services volume level, I suggest testing a different cell phone when you get the chance. I'm interested to see if the same thing happens when a different device is connected. Remember to change your active number on: www.Support.Ford.com before testing this. Kim -
Default phone volume when calling Sync Services

Hi again, I hunted down an iPhone 5S with iOS 7 (which was way easier than I expected ;)). It did not demonstrate the same issue that you're experiencing. I don't believe your system is functioning as intended. I recommend performing a master reset before testing again: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-myford-touch Kim
