  1. I found this Canadian version of the brochure for the 2016 Fusion a day or two before the US version came out. The file is too large to attach as is, so I had to zip it up first. 2016_Canada_Ford_Fusion_Brochure.zip

  5. Yeah, the maroon '98 Luminas were very classing looking. Mine was light blue metallic with light blue or light grey interior. I never noticed any issues with the brake lights being glitchy, but then again, it was not easy for me to see them either. ;) My Lumina probably only had 60K-70K miles on it when I traded it in, but I don't recall ever having any issues with anything on it. The MPGs on my Lumina were probably similar to what I got in my Century, maybe a little lower. But I probably wasn't driving it so much like a granny as I did in my Century. Since we get so many snowbirds in these parts and they like to drive Buicks, at least used to, a slow-moving Buick is not surprising to anyone. :shift:
  6. I realized I left out the nicknames of my previous cars above: '69 Ford Galaxie 500 (no name, but when I played Rush's song "2112" very loudly in it, it was my spaceship.)'69 Buick Skylark (Bessie)'74 Chevy Vega GT (Charlie)'61 Ford Falcon (Harold)'85 Ford Mustang GT (GT)'98 Chevy Lumina (Mina) '04 Buick Century (Zener)'14 Fusion Hybrid (Fuze)
  7. One thing I find very amazing about my list of cars above is that the list of makes is the same forwards and backwards. :) Ford - Buick - Chevy - Ford - Ford - Chevy - Buick - Ford
  8. Here is my chronological list of previous cars, and the age I was when I got them. '69 Ford Galaxie 500:Age 15: A hand-me-down from my step-dad. Great party car for me and my buddies in high school.'69 Buick Skylark: Age 17: Inherited from my great-aunt. Had a 2-bbl V8, but ran so quiet, I tried to start it up several times while it was still running.'74 Chevy Vega GT: Age 20: My grandmother bought it used for me so I could have a car to get to electronics school. With the aluminum block leaking oil, had to add a quart of oil every week.'61 Ford Falcon: Age 22: My girlfriend needed my Vega to get to work, so I bought this beater Falcon to hold me until I could save up for my first new car, and it was such a beater it even had bullet holes in the fenders,.'85 Ford Mustang GT: Age 24: My first brand-new car, and was the first year which the horsepower started coming back to the Mustang after the fuel crisis model years, and was the last year the Mustang had a carbureted V8. BTW, my girlfriend bought her '86 fuel-injected V8 Mustang a year later, but hers was possessed, almost a lemon. '98 Chevy Lumina: Age 38: After wrecking my Mustang, it helped me realize I had an extremely severe case of Jeckyl & Hyde aggressive driving style when switching back and forth between a stick-shift V8 Mustang and a V6 vehicle having an auto tranny. So I traded in my Mustang for a midsize sedan with an automatic, and found a slightly used one to avoid that initial depreciation. I chose the Lumina since it was somewhat sporty-looking and had a super simple and very reliable V6 engine with decent gas mileage.'04 Buick Century: Age 42: Since I was craving a key fob and wanted a passenger airbag for my wife, I bought the closest model to the Lumina that I could find, with the basically the exact same super-simple V6 engine. The Century had a highway EPA rating of 29 MPG, and I almost always got 27-29 MPGs with mixed driving. Since I was usually carpooling to work with my wife, I only put 50K miles on it during the 10 years I owned it. When I sold it, there was no difference whatsoever between it and the proverbial granny car that was driven very slowly only on Sundays.'14 FFH: Age 52: When I bought the Century, I was hoping to purchase a hybrid instead, but since the hybrids were so new at that time, the selection was extremely limited and the prices were significantly higher than the Century. So I was extremely pleased when I started looking for a new car to find out that Ford was offering hybrids, and even had a hybrid midsize sedan since that is what I like to drive and it was a very sporty-looking car to boot. All of the other great things which the FFH had to offer were just icing on the cake, and more icing, and more icing, and more icing.Edit: Added missing link below. Here is a link to one of my posts where I list out some other reasons how and why I chose the FFH as my current car. The FFH is by far my favorite car I have ever owned. I actually get withdrawals when it has been more than a few hours (not days) since I last drove my FFH. That is how much I like and now crave and love my FFH. :love_shower:
  9. When I was shopping for a new midsize hybrid sedan back in December 2013, I had already been bitten by the looks of the Fusion. And from a specs-only analysis, the FFH was one of the largest hybrids, but still had the best fuel economy rating out of all of the non-plugin hybrids at that time, except for the two smaller Prii. But I still spent many hours studying the market of all available cars. The one source of data that provided the most succinct collection of data in regards to some of the most important aspects to me was the EPA's Fuel Economy Guides (2013 and 2014 FEGs). Those FEGs show not only the MPGs for each engine, but also the interior and cargo volume size. And the EPA guide also has the various car make/models sorted by many different sorting categories which make comparisons and viewing the complete market of vehicles very easy and handy since I can download them to my phone as well. From the data in the EPA FEGs, there was one gas car which impressed me the most, for its good gas mileage, its midsize roominess even though I tend to think of it as a compact, and its low price, and that was the Toyota Corolla. But it still had lower MPGs than the FFH, had the all-too-common 3-box design and it was slightly smaller than the FFH too. So I went to a Ford dealership and sat in several FFHs, and test drove one. I fell in love with the looks of the SE with the spoiler and 5-spoke wheels, the interior design, the comfort, the good bolster support of the seats, and the driveability, even though at that point I knew I'd be driving it just like a granny would since I was already driving my 2009 Buick Century like a granny. But I still spent the time to research all of the online car data and brochures for all of the FFH competitors. And I also did take the time to visit some of the competitor sales lots to make sure that the FFH was definitely "THE ONE" for me, even though it was just about a given at that point already. I was actually selling the FFH to those poor salesmen better than they could sell their own cars to me. So here is my high-level analysis of the FFH competitors during that time period in December 2013 when I was searching for my next car. Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and Kia Optima Hybrid - There were no 2014 models of either even at that late date (Dec 2013), and I didn't want a old leftover model. I do like their styling, but they had significantly lower MPGs than the FFH EPA ratings. Honda - Their new Accord Hybrid was not out yet at that time. Toyota Prius - The Prius and Prius C were too small for my tastes, and their styling is not as stylish to me as they once were since they are mostly unchanged for a whole decade. The Prius V, spec-wise, was a close competitor to the FFH, but not only did it have lower MPGs, its styling was even worse than the other Prii since it really, really looks like a station wagon, which in no way appealed to me. Toyota Camry Hybrid - The TCH was pretty much second place to the FFH for me, but it was still a very distant second place since I couldn't get past the 3-box styling, and it also had a lower EPA rating. Chevy Malibu eAssist and cousin Buick Lacrosse eAssist - They had no where near the MPGs of the FFH, nor quite the sporty styling. Chevy Volt - Very sporty, but a bit too small for me. C-MAX Hybrid - Not my style, and had lower MPGs than the super-sporty FFH anyways. Fusion Energi - Only comes in leather, and I'm a tree-hugging animal-lover, and the FFE has a tiny trunk too. VW Jetta Hybrid - Another 3-box style, and was a smaller size and had lower MPGs than the FFH. Luxury/CUV/SUV hybrid models - More expensive, lower MPGs, and most of them were not as sporty as the FFH.The only other model besides the FFH which I would have seriously considered getting was the Tesla. But I could buy 3 FFHs for the price of the Tesla model with the largest battery option. As you might surmise from my cross-shopping comments above, the other hybrid models didn't really stand a chance, since the FFH had everything I wanted: sportiness, comfort, techy-ness, one of the highest EPA MPG ratings, and all at a very reasonable price.

    MPG Happy Talk

Down...but not out. Here is a shot of my MPGs for a full week of sweltering heat which caused me to run the A/C for half of my commute mileage, for the trip home in the 100Ā°-105Ā° high temps. I was able to get away with using the cracked window method for cooling in the mornings since the temps were still only in the 80Ā°-82Ā° range by the time I drove to work at 7am. I also had a few short city trips during the weekend with the A/C on which brought this tank's average down some.
  11. While I was my dealership getting my oil changed recently, I snapped a photo of the new for 2016 black 5-spoke wheel which is now a second wheel available on the gas Fusion SE with the Appearance Package. Being black, it is showing its dirt in this photo. Personally the black wheels just don't do much for me since they seem to just blend into the shadows instead of showing off their stylishness to their full potential.

  15. And in April too. http://www.hybridcars.com/april-2015-dashboard/
  16. The base price for the 2015 Sonata Hybrid, with destination charges, is $26,825. Most standard features are comparable to the Fusion S standard options. There are only two other trim level package options available, and with destination charges those two trim levels total either $30,325 or $32,575. There are not really any separate options like there are available for the FFH.
  17. Some time within the last 20-30 years, some CDs started including info on them for showing the track titles, etc. And some CD players have the ability to show the extra info, including the CD player in my FFH SE with MFT. But not all CDs, old-ish or new, have the extra track info added onto them.
  18. I went to the parts department at my dealership to buy some of the Ford brand windshield washer fluid, but the parts guy there told me that I would be just as well off with the windshield washer fluid from Walmart, so that is what I did.
  19. My first inclination about an answer to the question from the OP was to use one of those little hammers which are sold for the purpose of breaking windows. However I saw a news report recently where they demonstrated how very hard it is to break a side window from the _outside_ of a car with a sledge hammer. It makes me wonder how well that "resqme" spring-loaded window-piercing tool, which Texasota posted above, really works on breaking side windows.
  20. Luckily the parts arrived at the dealership late afternoon yesterday, so they were able to have the repairs done around 5pm yesterday. They said they not only replaced the seal, but the whole axle shaft as well. According to my Trip 1 gauge, the dealership only put 5 miles on my FFH, but they decreased my half-tank MPG average by 2 MPG. :detective:
  21. I prefer CDs because I'm pretty sure the music is not compressed on those original CDs, like it is in the MP3s. But I can usually find a good song amongst all of the station choices on my Sirius satellite radio. And if I can't find anything I like on Sirius, I have a CD inserted and ready to play great quality tunes for me to listen to for a while.
  22. I dropped my car off early this morning at my regular dealership, and they called later to tell me it is the same issue as the OP's issue...the leak is where the axles connect to the transmission. This means they don't have to drop my transmission, which my SA mentioned saves a lot of time. But my dealership still has to wait for the parts to be delivered from the warehouse, and the SA doesn't expect them to arrive until the end of the day. ;( So it looks like my FFH will be spending the night at the dealership unless the parts arrive earlier than expected.
  23. I do like that new Lincoln Continental concept quite a bit. But when is compared side-by-side with the Vignale above, it looks a little bit staid.
  24. You can add my 2014 FFH to the list of ones with an early transmission leak. My regular dealership found it at the 3rd oil change with 14.5K miles on my FFH (freebie oil changes every 5K miles for first 15K miles). But they didn't mention anything about a leak when they did the last oil change at 9K miles. I have an appointment tomorrow morning to get it fixed at my dealership.
  25. My FFH is a 2014 model. The change for the 2015 FFH not having the "gallons used" info is discussed in this topic: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/9955-car-computed-mpg-vs-actual-mpg/?do=findComment&comment=95277 But as I posted on page 2 of the same topic, I would not really miss the "gallons used" being displayed since I always use the gallons shown on the pump itself for all of my calculations. I believe the "Trip Summary" which is displayed when the FFH is turned off still shows the fuel used on the 2015 FFHs.
