  1. Using "L" could also keep your brakes from overheating on a steep descent, in the case where you might be applying them hard enough to continuously engage the brake pads.
  2. Yeah, it does look a lot like that photo. Even though that photo is a bit deeper in color than the actual Ice Storm color appears in person, it is still pretty much that color, only just a little lighter than that photo above. See the other Ice Storm photo I posted at the top of this same page to see a better representation of what it looks like in person. After I had done a bunch of research online on the FFH, I was thinking I wanted to order my FFH in the Ice Storm color. I was actually very disappointed once I made it to the dealer's lot and saw that it was too much of a greenish-teal color for me. Ford's online FFH Build & Price tool showed the Ice Storm color to be basically a Baby Blue color, which is the color I really, really wanted on my FFH. But the actual Ice Storm is what I would call a Baby Teal, leaning towards the green side of teal. Here is what the Ice Storm incorrectly looked like in the Build & Price tool. And this is what I wanted my FFH to look like, but it was not possible to order an FFH in this Baby Blue color. So I settled for the Ingot Silver, even though I have never really liked silver cars much, since I liked the Silver much better than the Ice Storm. The Tectonic is a nice alternative, but it wasn't available in 2014 when I had my FFH built.
  3. Here is another view of the Ginger Ale color.
  4. I have seen the Ginger Ale a few times in person. It is a green-tinted gold color. The Tectonic is more of a gold-tinted silver color, but not what I would really call gold, though it is close. These pics give you a sense of what the Ginger Ale looks like. As it goes with many colors, the look of the color depends largely on the lighting.
  5. A 2011 FFH in Ruby Red. The 2010 and 2012 FFHs look mostly the same.
  6. This is supposed to be Tectonic, but it is not the best lighting to see how the color actually looks in person.
  7. Here's the Tectonic. But alas, it doesn't appear to be an FFH.
  8. Found another color of FFH at Ford.
  9. And this one is so close to what I was basically asking for, but no cigar.
  10. Here's that same 2016 Magnetic FFH as above, but at a standstill. :)
  11. I'm not too fussy about the color, even though the Deep Impact Blue is great eye-candy for me. What I would really like to see is the FFH with the SE Appearance Package with the sporty wheels and the sporty spoiler. But it would need to be parked to get the best view of the 5-spoke wheels.
  12. I would highly doubt the detergent is added at the station.
  13. And for a while Gas Buddy was showing which gas stations in my town were Top Tier, so that made it really easy to know which ones had the stamp of approval.
  14. I found out about the Top Tier gasolines from owning GM cars, since GM strongly recommends using Top Tier gas in their Owner's Manuals. I have since always tried to use the Top Tier gases when possible since it makes great sense to me to use gas with detergent in it, just like the Techron gas always advertised, especially in today's cars which all have the tiny fuel injectors that seem to get gummed up quite easily. Where I live, several of the lower-priced gases now have the Top Tier certification, so it is a no-brainer for me.
  15. I didn't see anyone comment on the new FFH photo that appears at the top of every page here on these FFH forums. I like the new photo, but it sort of makes it feel like a different site to me, since that Ice Storm FFH photo had been up there I believe since when I joined this forum over 1 1/2 years ago.
  16. Yes, I agree that the FFH SE Appearance Package cloth seats are very comfortable. And that is even with me having previously been driving a 2004 Buick Century, which was designed with a squishy boat-like suspension and cushy-soft, velvety seats.

    MPG Happy Talk

Man, these FFHs are incredible feats of engineering. I'm so ecstatic about the stellar MPGs (59.6) which I'm currently getting, in the dead-middle of the oppressive Arizona desert summer heat, highs in the 105° to 110° range. Using the A/C seems to cause my MPGs to drop anywhere from about 3 to 6 MPG. But since I only have to use A/C for my evening drive home, because the morning temps are about 85°- 88°, my total average MPGs have only dropped by about 3 to 4 MPGs from what they were during the spring right before the summer temps hit. And during these past few weeks I believe I have still continued to improve my driving efficiency somewhat on my commute to work, by continuing to adjust my speed to better time my passage through the traffic lights to further decrease my fuel usage. This happened purely by accident, due to me being in a hurry to get to work a few times and realizing my fuel economy had improved because of the different traffic light timings I had encountered by staying at the speed of the traffic flow ahead of me instead of falling back and then having to stop, at one light in particular. This improved my efficiency since I didn't need to accelerate abruptly after stopping at that light just to make the next light while it was still green. But it still is somewhat of a crap shoot since the traffic light timings never stay perfectly the same from day to day for me during my commute to work.
