  1. I bought a 2013 C-max with 46 miles on it from a dealer in 2015, for about half of the sticker price. I asked for a new 12V battery because of the battery issues. That said, I never have had any issues with it. It still runs and charges great.
  2. Looks like it is time to replace my rear pads. Where do I set a floor jack to lift the rear wheels and set jack stands? Anybody got a link to a diy video? Thanks
  3. It will be very interesting to see how these vehicles hold up over time. If Ford feels that they are up to Pursuit Vehicle abuse, it would indicate Ford thinks the current basic Fusion hybrids on the road are fairly durable.
  4. How do technicians diagnose a shock that would need to be replaced? Mine was leaking fluid on to the garage floor. At first I thought the car was leaking brake fluid when I spotted the fluid on the floor. As soon as they put it on the rack you could see it was coming from the shock.
  5. I had one rear shock start leaking at 40K miles. Just out of warranty. ;(
  6. I bought a portable Li charger and put it in the car for "insurance" before I left it at the airport for 3 weeks. Just go back, and much to my surprise, the car started right up. No problems at all. It has been in service 3 years and 3 months, so I'm expecting the 12V batt to go any time, but so far so good.
  7. I could be interested in buying the take off wheels/tires if we could work it out.
  8. Do you and the dealer use the same definition for determining left and right?
  9. I'd be careful using any cruise control in that kind of weather. I increases the odds of the car skidding out of control if the wheels break traction.
  10. I can't put it off any longer as I'm worn down to the wear bars at 38K miles. Local farm supply store has the Eagles at buy 3 get one free. I can get a set installed, mounting, balance, road hazzard, disposal and fees for $509. A set of Pirelli Cint P7 was quoted at $944. I'm going with the Eagles
  11. I'd try a little rubbing compound on it to clean the rust away, then seal it with a couple coats of touch up paint. Then keep an eye on it and repeat when it comes back.
  12. I love my Stang GT Convertible. If I were only planning on keeping a car for a few years I'd seriously consider a used 2 or 3 year old car and bank the savings.
  13. I'm still on the fence. I have a set of the Goodyear 18 inch LS2's to replace before winter. The Pirelli's and Contintntal's are about $75 more each than replacement LS2's. With Gas at $2-$3 its hard for me to justify the extra expense on better MPG. Our roads are so bad here that I don't think i'd ever get the miles on the higher priced tires one would expect. I didn't care much for the Goodyears but at $300 savings, I might be able to like them for another 40K miles.
  14. I'm in the same boat. The quotes I get on the Conti and Pirelli's are almost twice the price of the Goodyear Eagles. I have the 18's with the Goodyear Eagles from the factory. I haven't been happy with the MPG or wear on the Goodyear's, but for the price difference, the other tires would have to go 70 to 80K to pay off. Our roads in Illinois are so bad, I don't think any tire has a chance to go that many miles. I need to make up my mind before the snow flies. Let us know what you decide and why. Thanks
  15. You might try putting one of those felt pads you put on the bottom of chair legs on the side of the seat belt pod. I doubt you would even see it.
  16. I have less trouble filling my 05 Mustang GT these days so maybe the pumps have changed. I do use the upside down trick when it is an issue.
  17. Can the sensors be swapped left to right? That could confirm the issue.
  18. I wonder if there would be a way to force the system to generate an error then take it to the dealer. Maybe disconnect a sensor for a drive through traffic, get the code, then plug it back in and take it to the dealer.
  19. Congratulations on your grad school appointment. The year will go fast.
  20. I was under the impression that only one owner used cars can be Ford certified. I could be wrong. Maybe the dealer is using a 3rd party program.
  21. This is great until the tech is wide spread. Then I'd worry about everyone trying the same alternate route or same open parking spot and creating another jam up.
  22. I see Rock Auto has close out sale prices on Trico wiper blades $2.28 and Champion oil filters at $1.14. I have no finical interest......
  23. For some reason I can't remember, I thought you could only have on admin fob programmed.
