  1. Yep, that's all she can tell you, "take it to the dealer." But armed with your info, she will have a Ford rep contact the dealer service manager, and that rep will throw the BS card on the service manager and it will get fixed. This is the type of BS that can harm a dealer's relationship with Ford and, and the dealer principal won't want that. Safety items like air bags and seat belts carry different warranties and huge liability for both the dealer and manufacturer. Ford will fix it, usually cheerfully. The other option would be to go to another dealer, which is probably a good idea based on the way you have been treated.
  2. This is a safety issue and should be covered. PM the Ford Service contacts (I think they are away "temporarily"; whatever that means) when they get back.
  3. Thanks for everything Dave! You will be missed. PM me if you are interested in selling your service manual.
  4. I'd like to see a "collapsed" space saver spare that could be inflated for temp use.
  5. If you buy an extended warranty, be sure to take a look at the miles as well as years. The price also goes up slightly after 12 months. At 11 months I realized I wasn't driving my C-max Energi nearly as many miles as our Fusion Hybrid (the road trip car) so I decided on a lower mile coverage on that car and saved quite a bit. When I bought the Fusion, I went for highest miles and longest months at time of purchase.
  6. I actually drive close enough to my house for it to trigger EV+ on my way home. However, the road loops around another mile before I can make the turn to get to my street, so it will display EV+ as I approach my neighborhood, go back to regular EV and I continue down the road, then go back to EV+ after I make the loop and head back closer on the road toward my house.
  7. I'd like to find a place to lift the entire front and rear tires off the ground, so I could support the frame with jack stands and rotate the tires.
  8. Been stuck in that traffic headed to Whistler many times. I still love Vancouver. I'd like to retire in that area, but its so darn expensive.
  9. Can't remember the last time I honked at someone. Another reason to live in fly over country.
  10. Try spraying a little brake part cleaner on a white cotton rag and gently rubbing, lifting it out, not rubbing it in.
  11. Used mine this morning. Cleared the window in about 5 min.
  12. Thanks for the update. Its good news. We also have a C-max Energi. The Energi lets you choose to run electric only (as long as you have a charge), Ice, or hybrid modes. I find myself reaching for that button while driving the Fusion, so I completely get this.
  13. I have very few issues with the Voice commands on my C-max but my Fusion seldom functions correctly. Go figure.
  14. I had a 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid. It was an excellent car.
  15. I don't think they take the difference between rude and stupid drivers into consideration when trying to put this together. It's just a click bait item anyway.
  16. Thanks for the Info Crystal. I'm surprised that I have not been included in this one living here in the rust belt. I'm scheduled to get 2 items taken care of next week, so I think I'll ask them to check on this as well.
  17. I have owned a Triumph TR7 for 26 years....
  18. This is interesting. I'm wondering how they determine the cars to include. If someone purchases a car in Texas and then moves to Green Bay, would Ford track the registration or go by the location of the selling dealer? Or if there was a dealer trade. Maybe our Ford Service Rep could chime in on this one.
  19. I have a kid in Oxen Hill. I just hate to drive there.
  20. CCalvinN, We have a C-max Energi in addition to the FFH. My commute is about 7 miles each direction and the Energi is perfect for me. I have only purchased gas for it three times in 14 months (7K miles), mostly due to road trips. This year I have used more gas in my lawn mower than the C-max. (The dash reports 185 mpg, I have no idea how that is computed) However, in the winter, you end up running the ice to defrost the windows and warm the cabin. While the Energi can use the battery for climate control, heat is very inefficient, AC is much more efficient in the summer. However, the Energi will let you pre-heat/pre-cool while plugged into a L2 charger, but I never bought one, I'm fine with the L1 that came with car. Read the energi forums and try to determine if it is a good fit for you. If so, it is even more amazing than the totally awesome FFH. If the Fusion Energi had a hatch back opening like the C-max instead of a small trunk lid, cargo space due to the battery placement would be much less of an issue and I would have likely gone that route. With current low gas prices and high interest in SUV's and Trucks, dealer discounts and the tax credit on new PHEV's make both Ford Energi models, especially 2015's (and new 2014's if you can find them) very competitively priced. In some instances you can buy the Energi for less than the Hybrid taking the tax credit into consideration. Trade in value is another story, so plan to keep it a few years or consider a lease. Also, consider your electric rate. The national avg. is said to be 11 cents/kwh. I'm on a variable hourly rate plan so I can charge at home at night for about 3 cents/kwh, so my monthly bill has only gone up about $6. I also can charge for free at several locations around town. I don't know how long that will last, but I take advantage of it every chance I get. Ah hour plugged in at the gym gets me back to a full charge for free and motivates me to go there daily. It don't get much better than that. It also helps if you have a garage to charge inside. On a lightener note, being a creature of habit, I find myself checking the oil in the C-max every week as part of my vehicle maintenance routine, even thought the ice hasn't started since June. The oil change interval is 20K miles.
  21. Texasota, Chicago isn't fly over country, people actually fly to Chicago. :headspin: I'm halfway between Chicago and St Louis, no one wants to fly here. Not only are the roads in Chicago congested, but the highways in Illinois have not been maintained properly for years and are crumbling. When you cross into Illinois from any of the neighboring states you can tell right away from the poor road surface -- like hundreds of miles of speed bumps. We also use Amtrak when we need to go to the city center. A round trip ticket is less than a parking garage. Unfortunately, Amtrak's on time performance is dismal.
  22. 5 cars at a stoplight is the worst traffic we get out here in fly over country.
  23. Thanks for the additional pics Jeff. It looks like it lets in a lot less air than our Fords.
  24. Anyone know how to remove the sun visor. It looks like the opening around the rod is 2 sections that probably snap off, but I thought I'd see if someone has done this before I attempt removing it. I picked up a Homelink unit over the weekend at a junkyard and want to install it.
  25. it looks like both the upper and lower grills are permanently blocked, or do they have openings and shutters behind them?
