What is your current MPG

Almost 48K on ours after two years of ownership. Dash shows 38.5 mpg but it's actually 37.47 calculated. Commute is mostly freeway. We experience about a 1400 ft elevation change between work and home.

Another fill-up (third full tank driven by me), 501.5 miles, 11.19 gallons = 44.82 mpg. Car computer showed 47.2 mpg and.28 miles to E. Same type of driving as before. mpg has slightly dropped, from 45.30 to 45.15 to 44.82. Weather is about the same, a bit cooler than the first fill-up but still moderate (days in the 60s), some rain.

I had my first sustained 70 mph driving today, about 50 miles of it each way. Freeway including hills. Non-eco cruise set at 70. Car computer said 42 mpg one way, 44 mpg the other way. Less the about-2-mph optimism leaves 40 and 42 mpg at 70 mph. I can't complain about that.

Did a nice little highway run today.

On the to trip I was only able to get 44.4

Return Trip netted 52.6.

For a trip average of 48.5

What a difference elevation makes.

Another fill-up today, 431.4 miles, 10.37 gallons, 41.6 mpg (car computer showed 43.1). This was down from the 45 mpg actual (47 car computer) I got on the last two fill-ups. About 100 miles of the 431 was 70 mph, and after that the weather got rainy and cooler.

 

Edited to correct miles typo from 541.4 to 431.4. Calc results were OK.

Right now I'm holding strong at 43.0. I've teetered to 43.1 but that's as high as I've gotten yet. It's gotten decently cold here, combined with many short trips and I just can't move it higher right now. I hope to keep the lifetime above 41 during the winter so I can change the oil at 5k to full synthetic and creep it back up to 44ish before spring is over.

Mine is a lovely 39.5 since I replaced the tires. It is all due to the cold weather though, when morning temps are -0, and one of my grill blocks blew off so cold air is getting through the grill. But hey, it is still falling in the range I predicted of 38-43. Quite pleased with it. Have the HVAC set to 71* auto, seat warmer at high, nice and toasty warm. So much better than freezing and 34 MPG.

My mileage has started to decrease during onset of winter.

I was shocked that my total fuely mpg is now slightly below 40mpg!!!

My lifetime average on car just ticked 46.5 today on my way to work. On my drive to work I regularly get around 58 mpg so it usually ticks up 0.1 mpg going. The return trip my mileage is only around 46 so usually the lifetime affected isn't affected. At some point (possibly now) I'll reach equilibrium.

Put new tires on exactly 5 months ago and my mileage has consistently since that day. From average 48.1 to now 40.1

That's quite a drop in mpg. Do you really think the tires caused that, or maybe the cold winter weather?

Well, his location is U.S. Northeast.... I'm guessing it's 99% unrelated to the tires. My January average was 44 - exactly 5 months earlier it was 55! But, I'm not complaining... ;)

Mine is great, as I am not driving. :) Wife killed it, its down to 39 dash, I have NO idea what actual is since we stopped keeping records once I determined the car got the expected range out of it. I have the Pure Contacts on, and see no actual difference in MPG, but have yet to drive it in warm weather, but not expecting less than it got with the GY, and probably will get better.

70,500 as of this afternoon (got a job in my hometown so mileage accumulation has slowed considerably)

 

10 mile trip with a few stop lights, and 50 - 70 mph speeds and my mileage sits around 39.5

 

couple weekends ago I was on I-10 for a 4 hour trip one way and averaged 43mpg with speeds getting up into the 90's at certain points :shift:

I am really glad to see posts like yours, that provide serious affirmation of my decision to pick up a FFH this coming Monday. My one way commute is 75 miles, about 30% city traffic.

First fill up on the car, the dash readout said 40.7, Fuelly tells me 41.3. I am good either way! A whole lot better than my Millenia that would get 24.3 on its best days, same route, same speeds. 75 miles each way. Feels like it is uphill, either way.

Well I have rarely driven ours(mine now, wife has a new Focus), so my wife has had it since end of January. Up until this week, temps were below freezing, so best we were able to get was 38.7, but with warmer weather it has been in the 40's again. Not at all displeased with 38. Its mostly highway miles too.

My car says 37.8 fuelly says 36.7 I don't who to believe, I'm resigned that my commute and the terrain will never get out of that high 30's zone.

Hi all,

I just got a new 2014 Hybrid SE. I put on over 110 miles every workday driving 57 mostly interstate miles to work each way. Just had it one week and now just over 1000 miles. MPG is only about 36, but still breaking in. I had a used Prius for 4 years and did from 54 down to about 42 MPG. That car performed best MPG in stop and go traffic which is what my commute was for the first couple of years.

The Fusion definitely has a better ride

My first refuelling of my new FFH occurred today at 440.8 total miles. It was different with the capless filler and smaller tank, only 10.7 gallons to refill. I got 40.4 MPG estimating the dealer fuelled the car at 9.2 total miles.

What I find interesting is I get better indicated MPG on the home commute compared to the work commute. Both routes are mostly the same City/Highway mix using the same highway segment. I might try doing the same route on the work commute to see if it improves. Temperature does not seem to be much of a factor. It appears EV Mileage is not much of a factor either. The car sits around 9 hours between the work and home commute and around 13 hours between the home and work commute.

Same. Elevation is almost always the differentiating factor between the two halves of a round trip.
