Yours is right between mine and Nick's build dates. Both of us are getting crappy MPG, his worse than mine.

My build date was 11/21/12.

I'd like to reset the main Average MPG counter that is constantly displayed in the coaching screens.

I used the Settings>Lifetime Average Reset but it did not zero out that left display's large print Average MPG, it stayed the same while still in the garage.

It did zero the Settings>Lifetime Average numbers though, they all went to zero.

I did this after the dealer did that 'System Hard Reset', I wanted to track any differences.

See my response above regarding the resetting of the avg mpg. I know one way is to go to trip computer 1 and hold the OK button and a resetting bar will appear. Hold OK until it says its complete.

You might be able to hold the OK button on the specific screen but I haven't tried that yet since i like to track mpg over the whole tank and reset the trip computer after each fillup

Okay, that did the trick! thumb_zpsd7afeeca.gif

Left panel>Inform>Average MPG>OK and hold for a reset to zero.

Thanks, now the left panel Average MPG is 0, I'll start again from this point.

I logged the current mileage into the Owner's Manual for future reference.

Ok, excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean by ICE? I've seen it used several times.

I was wondering too seeing it the first couple times. ICE = Internal Combustion Engine i.e. the gas engine.

In comparison to my 2010 FFH, I drove it yesterday to work, 8* temps, got 37 and change over the 37 mile trip. Today the 13, same trip, 10* temps, got 36.7.

To me the EPA ratings on this car are WAY off! It does no better than the 2010-12 models.

If they are way off, how come a first time hybrid driver like me can consistantly meet and surpass the 47 mpg rating? My first time behind the wheel netted 46.5 on a 25 mile spin. I recently got 45+ mpg on a 147 mile trip to the DC area and 43+ on the return trip driving I95 and 495. I think it's your car and I hope Ford is able to fix it or make you happy with another car. What does your Zone Manager have to say?

It is my car that is way off. Computer tells them its fine, but tank fills say otherwise. Going to the dealer again tonight to see if they can arrange something with the reps.

They will try and stall you for as long as they. You need to demand a meeting with the Ford Zone Manager. The ZM does have the power to make it right. I know from past experience.

Today I was watching my scan gauge now that I have it setup for the car, and the instant doing 60, is between 20 and 30 MPG. The ICE is not very efficient.

I was afraid of that. I wonder if the 2012's ICE is more efficient, and if so, did they goof in the change.

Since this is a 2.0L instead of a 2.5L ICE, I wonder if more running time is needed to support the heating?

My car consistently gets 36 to 40mpg here in southern Michigan. This past weekend when it was 63degrees (read in car display) I went on 4 different 45 to 50 mile trips and did not get below 45.2mpg and actually hit 47 one one of the trips. I think the temp has a lot to do with the mileage that we are seeing. It would be interesting to see where the cars are located that get consistently 45+. When it was warm and i was driving 70 on the interstate the instant was well above 40mpg. I hover around 40mpg in the 30 and below temps.

I live in the Philadelphia area and consistantly get in the area of 45 - 47 and up. Sometimes 39-45 depending if the car is warmed up or not. I'm very happy with the car and gas mileage.

1. Have you checked your odometer with GPS? You could be getting up to one MPG better than you think.

2.On ScanGauge what temp is WTat doing 60mph, the best MPG temp is 206deg.F What was the outside temp?

3. 20-30mpg is right if the battery is less than 70% full. If EV is running half of the time that would equil 40-60mpg overall. Remember ICE is doing two jobs, Moving the car plus charging the battery aggresively.
