  1. Without changing rims, wider tires will decrease the handling on the car, and they may also rub. The car is perfectly balanced with stock 18" wheels and matching tires. It would also impact more than just handling and MPG, but the car sensors also look for specific readings from the wheels and any change to them can affect the overall performance of the car from braking to EV mode.
  2. Discuss All three should be ticketed, the semi driver saw what was going on and should have just backed down to let the camaro through and all would have been OK.
  3. Yeah the sawzall would be needed to cut the hole in the roof for my head as the seat would be much higher! LOL
  4. For me it was getting between 38-43 MPG, and that has been met, and many times exceeded. OTOH when problems do crop up, that satisfaction has not been met recently. If the current issue goes unresolved after their master tech looks at it, then I most likely will switch to some other car company. Ford designed a really nice car with the Fusion/MKZ, its just too bad their support of the car has been lacking.
  5. Eet was supposed to be a lymerick, not a ryhme, but it was too sick, so I didn't give it much time.
  6. Well, guess this is another one of those, cannot reproduce, customer must be smoking something instances. I have a list of these myself after 45K miles. CTA fault intermittent, no codes, cannot reproduce, but shows on VHR. Transmission not in park when opening drivers door if there is a passenger with the second key. At least that is how I know what shows up cause it goes away before I can get in the car, yet there have been times when I open the drivers door and hear the chimes. Regen brakes get soft, where I press on the brakes, the dash spins, yet the car doesn't slow like it should, have to press more and more until the hydraulic brakes kick in, hence low brake score. Other times the car slows aggressively on regen, just like it should, and again, no problem found. Then there is then one issue I can reproduce just about every time, the regen brakes disengaging for a brief moment during a turn. Happens regardless of speed and SOC, and always when the brakes are in regen mode. Since no codes, no problem found. I notice it mostly while turning a 90* corner between 25 and 30 MPH, but have it happen under 15 MPH too, like when I turn into my driveway, and since it is gravel, it is really noticeable as the freewheeling when it disengages pushes the front tires through the gravel. Other times if the regen from above is not doing its job and I hit the turn going over 30 MPH then I wind up in the opposing lane during the turn since it lurches through the turn. The last two items just started happening this past winter, the first one I noticed in December, and thought that it was related to the cold temps, the second part happened end of January, neither of these issues occurred since mile 3 on the car until I got close to the 40K mile mark. Again, as what the OP is getting, No Problem Found! These cars are too damned complicated now, so you need not a mechanic, but a computer specialist and electrical engineer to troubleshoot them.
  7. There is a module attached to the negative terminal that the computers use to monitor the batteries condition. As with jump starting a car you never connect to both terminals, but ground the negative to the body or some other part under the hood.
  8. There once was a man name Luke He ate something that made him puke He then had no fun As he then had the runs He was so sad As he spent all day in the can
  9. Agreed, I have no complaints about the MPG, it is what it is.
  10. I'm constantly changing position trying to get comfortable, just cant seem to find the right spot. Thinking back, I never did have an issue with the Flex, I would get out of that car without any problems, and realize why I did not have the same feelings with the MKT, I always had some pain after driving that one too. Too bad I cant fit the Flex seat into the Fusion, Problem solved. LOL
  11. Yep, the one we had that they took away worked perfect, but was an energy hog, our electric has gone down 15% since it was replaced, but it was at least 20 years old. The one that we got when we moved here back in 01 freezes everything, so it does not work well either, but for now at least we have some frozen stuff.
  12. Just a Rant at LG. We bought one of their very expensive french door, bottom freezer refrigerators back in July, it got delivered in August, and it died on the 14th of this month. A tech was out, two days after we called, said it was a bad compressor, but none were available for a week, so he was out again last Wednesday, spent 2 hours retroubleshooting the compressor, wasting my wife's time as she had to take time off work for this, finally replaced the compressor, and it started to cool down, then he left, my wife went back to work, and we came home later at our usual time to a still warm fridge that now reeks like a burnt motor. We called them back, and they did not return our call until this morning, in the meantime my wife called LG, who said they would replace it, they just needed our receipt, so I uploaded pictures of the purchase order and receipt, and my wife called back later to find out, oh, no we aren't replacing it, we need to send a tech back out to diagnose it again. I then remembered I have an extended warranty from HD on it, so I looked into it and found it starts from day 1, and if they cant repair it they replace it, so I called them, and they need to send a tech out to look at it, and guess who it is, same company that was out the first two times. So maybe, just maybe all it takes now is for them to say, yeah we were out twice and replaced the compressor. All I know is what a PITA this has become as we have not had a working fridge now for going on 3 weeks. $2100 fridge that lasted 8 months. The stink in it now is horrible. If anyone stalled a drill and smoked it, that is what it smells like now.
  13. That thought DID occur to me yesterday too! I have sciatic pain, but its in the right leg.
  14. Blowing both ends at the same time and filling your sweat pants, not a good day, especially if it happens at a Country Buffet.
  15. I found that there is a spring in the side bolster of the bottom cushion that is pressing right against a nerve in my leg and no matter how I try I cannot get comfortable now. May have to park the car and drive my truck if this keeps up, been home for over 2 hours now and my leg is still hurting, the hip yesterday was mostly arthritis acting up, the other pain is just behind the hip joint and runs down the outside of my thigh, right where that cushion presses. OTOH RAIN sux too. LOL Tried my best but still managed to get below 40 on the way home. Oh well, it is what it is.
  16. I give up. The good braking lasted all but one day and now its back to doing what it has been. I am finding that long trips in the car are becoming very uncomfortable now for me, my left leg and hip are screaming in pain. Grrrrr. I sure hope that tech shows up soon.
  17. Today though, the car has become a pain in MY ass. Literally, my left hip hurts badly. I drove to Iowa then to Wisconsin, so I spent 6 hours in the car today and that seat has me in lots of pain, not even 4 Aleve has helped. I need to find a Luxury SE on a lot and have a sit in it, and if its comfy I am going to try and find one from a scrap yard. Between the seat and how the brakes have been acting up, starting to not want to drive the car every day. BTW wind sux. my trips today netted no better than 38 MPG. My trip home with the wind behind me though, 50 MPG. LOL Wind was out of the NW so only my trip home which is SW was good, the rest of my trips were either quartering or right into it.
  18. Justice is SWEET. Today I was following a pickup that was up and down and slowed to a crawl through a ramp that I take at 60, so I passed it, the guy behind me passed the truck, AND passed me. I set my cruise at 61 which in real speed it 59/60 GPS. He was GONE. Well, about 10 miles up the road, there he was sitting on the side of the raod, with a county car behind him with the lights going. He got NAILED! I LOL so hard I had tears. BTW if you drive a vehicle with company information on it, like say Klein Tools, its usually not a good idea to be driving like a moron. LOL
  19. 45000 on mine and they still look like new.
  20. I still get these faults every so often, but they still work, so just taking it as the glitch that it is.
  21. My payback happened on the first trip. Sharp looking car, great gas mileage, good sounding stereo. Yep 100% win.
  22. Drive Smarter, Not Faster The other day some MORON, yeah thats the best description for this bubba in a pickup. Behind me and two others at a light, light turns green, and we weren't moving fast enough to the next RED light. So he floors it, goes around us, and RACES to the left turn lane and stops behind 2 other cars. I passed him just as the light turns green. So while he was sitting waiting, I never touched my brakes and made it through the intersection before he even reached it.
  23. Whats interesting is it was 19000 this morning too, so the 25 ev miles from the trip home weren't added. Strange.
