    March Sales

Still no record on how many are fleet sales to Taxi and other companies. I wonder if those sales were removed and just list consumer sales, where the cars will rank.
  2. Your discrepancy is due to the fillups, and not really the computer. The filler on these cars is goofy, as you can see by quite a few threads regarding fuel tank size. Depending on pump fill rate, angle of car, temps, etc. you can put more or less fuel in at every fill, so one fill clicks off with a not so full tank, next fill fills up more than the last tank by a gallon or more. I gave up long time ago trying to decipher just when it shuts off and just fill to the first click and done, next tank will compensate for shorting, and over a dozen fills it all averages out.
  3. Well damn, and here I was extra happy with 48.5 MPG 100% brake score at 45* temps.
  4. My mom has an MKS, the Lincoln Taurus, and while nice car, I would much rather drive the Fusion(it now has more toys than her MKS).
  5. Every so often a T-6 or SNJ, cant tell its too high to see the marking, though same darned plane, flies around here, can always tell between it and the bipes, the wright 1800 has a much lower slower rumble than the radial in the bipes. During Oshkosh there are flights that come near my house, so every so often I catch a big radial or even better a pair or more of merlins. Haven't seen FIFI yet but have seen a couple B-25's.
  6. Just dont do like I did and crack the sensor on the LVB, oops. Not broken, just cracked. Might be easier to undo the stud for the grand cable instead of the post itself and disconnect that sensor lead. Dont forget to push the latch in all the way to the left when putting the HVB plug back on.
  7. Some energy from the HVB is used to encourage the power to flow from ICE to final drive. Simplified, When max torque is requested, the MG on the ICE will spin at the same RPM as the flywheel into the planetary gearset to transmit the full torque to the drive MG, and when in generator mode the ice spins it faster (or slower), putting less torque on the PG. In a conventional transmission PG are controlled via clutch packs to lock drums at various speeds. In the eCVT this is all controlled electronically. In a belt driven CVT its done with sheeves, controlled by hydraulics, as power demands are requested the CPU sends more or less pressure to the drive sheeve to change the belt position. When it is slow the final sheeve has more belt than the drive sheeve, and at high speeds the drive sheeve has more belt. Think of the chain on a 10 speed bike. In eCVT this is all done with the MG and planetary gearset. at high torque demands, the ICE side MG is spinning faster to transmit the power to the final drive, and at cruise it is turning slower. I would love to disassemble one to see how they are interconnected between the ICE and output shaft to the diff.
  8. Hoping I wont need it Meagan, but will use it if I need it. I did a reboot of the car, and while the brakes are now working like they should in a straight line braking(YEAH), there is still the issue while turning, which means to me it is not a programming issue but more likely a sensor being hinky, and since it is so brief, probably not anything that would actually throw a code. How they will ever find the problem I dont know, but it needs to be fixed. Now that the straight line braking is working as it should the turning speeds are much lower so less of an issue. My biggest concern was that the erratic slowing from 60 MPH while slowing to turn meant that I never knew if I would be turning at 25 MPH or 40 MPH. Keeping fingers crossed that the straight line braking continues to work as well as it does now. Today the car drove better than when I first got it, smooth, quiet, 48 MPG, was rather enjoyable, I had the radio off, and just kicked back and cruised.
  9. So with the issues with regen I have been having, and after talking to the SM, we both agreed it wouldnt hurt doing a reboot. So Saturday I pulled the plug on the HVB and the LVB and let it rest for an hour or more, then thought I broke the darn thing as it wouldn't start and threw stop safely now, but only because I didn't fully lock the HVB plug. DOH Results are impressive, the car is much quieter now, Why I haven't a clue, but the noise at low speed in EV is gone, EV/ICE transitions are nearly imperceptible at 60MPG, and the regen braking is back to working like they should, in fact I have rarely EVER gotten 100% braking on long drives, and both trips today I got 100%. However, the braking while turning issue is still there, so whatever is causing that has nothing to do with programming. This morning driving in rain, not so good MPG, but the brake score being 100% is an improvement. But the trip home, IMPRESSIVE!!

  11. I would choose the Taurus only if it had an Ecoboost in it, AKA, SHO. In the long run the Taurus will cost you more money in the operating expenses. Tires and fuel will cost you more.
  12. Definitely an OH S**T moment. Well did not fix the turning issue, but the car is running better now, in fact the eCVT is quieter. Also found out the Chemical Guys stuff does not last long. Second washing since the last detail and its all gone, no more beading and the finish is dull, so back to Zaino for me.
  13. They didn't, but then again, they have not driven the car like I do or encountered it at the speeds I normally do. On a Side note, Oh BOY did I scare myself. I did a hard reset, disconnecting both batteries, and let it sit for a couple hours while I painted the new door I installed last week. Hooked everything back up and the car would not start. Stop Safely NOW was the only thing on the screen, then the wrench light came on see manual. Turns out I didn't push the latch on the HVB in all the way. OOPS. Thought Great, now it needs a tow. Started up once I got that corrected. Will see if resetting everything makes any difference. SM thought was worth a shot anyway.
  14. The dealer isnt dismissing it, they just didn't fully understand the complaint until now. The SM now understands after we did a drive and I pointed it out. Normally what he felt would have been ignored, but when it is incremental, meaning the faster the turn, the more noticeable it is, then its a different story. They are getting a high level tech in, but it wont be for a few weeks. In the meantime I do have the car back, but the legal standpoint still remains, and I am not sure what to do about it. The lowdown on the other SM not getting involved, turns out he was promoted and his last day was Tuesday. He has been out the rest of the week, so was not available to discuss. The other SM did talk to him this morning and is now fully aware of what the complaint is.
  15. Could not replicate. Turns out the SM I pointed it out to has not been in this week. Will go in tomorrow and take the other SM for a drive and show him what is happening. CC, the problem can occur at any speed. Pulling into my driveway at under 20 MPH I will skip when it happens, my driveway is gravel, so the sudden boost of the bakes going away is quite noticeable then. I mostly notice it when turning off a highway onto another highway, and all on right angle turns. There is one road that goes from 55 down to 40 and turns 90* left, then about a mile or so at 40 with a right 90* turn, and it happens at both turns regardless of speed. Of course the faster the turn the more I notice it. Now from a legal stand point, knowing the car does this, and it is now documented with no fix, do I drive it and take a risk? If something happened while turning that this caused a crash, what would happen? Anyone know on this? This is my main concern on the whole thing, the regen straight line braking from 60 down is so sporadic and un-repeatable that its not something to waste time on, but the brakes cutting out while turning has me greatly concerned. From a legal standpoint, I feel the car is unsafe to drive.
  16. Well, I talked to the tech working on my car, and of course they got nowhere with it. Getting the usual BS, its normal. I explained quite clearly that if Ford says the brakes going away during a turn is normal, they can buy the car back. Apparently he did not understand the situation so I explained in detail that when slowing through a turn in regen only, when the steering wheel reaches the 90* mark past horizontal(1/4 turn) the regen stops braking for a brief instant, making it feel like the car surges forward. I demonstrated it several times to the service manager who agreed its not normal, however no one talked to the service manager like I asked. Meagan, I will PM you if they don't resolve it, until then I dont want to throw anything at them outside of their department unless I dont get a clear resolution. Right now I am at the point where if Ford can't fix it, or wont fix it, then I dont know what to do since I really can't take a risk of having a crash because of the brakes doing this. If something does happen, then I will be at fault driving a car with a known safety issue. This problem, and the other one I cannot replicate because it happens at random make me not want to drive the car anymore which sucks because I like the car so much. At least this is something that can be felt unlike the MPG issue I had with the other one. There is clearly an issue, and I will NOT take, its normal as an answer this time around. Ford tells me it's normal, they can come and get the car.
  17. I dont drove 80 MPH, I drive under 70 even when its 70, and my wife took the picture.
  18. Then again old farts have slow reaction times, so the further they are behind the better. makes it easier for the young hotshots to cut them off. :) BTW, if you check out this picture, you will see what I saw the most, people driving way too close behind others. two in front left lane, and one right behind them, they were going at least 80+, so my driving distance is perfectly safe, and you can see I am 2 below the limit.
  19. Today the regen brakes worked perfectly. However I did hear the grinding again, it comes and goes, so I know it is not the tires. I drop it off tomorrow after work.
  20. It is one and a half semi lengths at 2 bars. It is much farther back than majority of people I see driving out there, I have one picture with one person no further back than a half car length going by me at 80MPH. The ACC will slow you down quickly too as it happened to me this trip when a car cut me off just as traffic slowed down fast. Unless the truck in front hits a brick wall, I would be able to stop safely at that distance.
  21. Goes in on Wednesday, dropping it off tomorrow night. Today the regen brakes worked perfectly. They still blip while turning though. I also noticed an intermittent grinding noise when slowing or accelerating at slow speeds. Thought it was my imagination, but it did it again tonight pulling out of menards.
  22. voice commands didnt work, would not take the state. As far as doing something with the navigation, it was meant for our current cars. Not buying another Ford any time soon.
  23. So you are saying this is too close? It is more than a full semi length behind.
