  1. 6 weeks before expiration of a trial period seems pretty reasonable to me to solicit you for a renewal in my opinion. And as for Sirius having your information (or getting it from Ford) they are entitled to it. Even though you are enjoying a free trial period, they are still supplying the service and as such are entitled to know all the billing details necessary to contact you and solicit your continued patronage. That's normal for any trial service or free period from any vendor. I myself don't have Sirius yet but I am interested to hear others answer your questions about the Travellink question and trial period. Good luck!
  2. Your other choice is to offer them for sale on the Taurus forum. Take a photo to show the quality and newness and that will maximize your return. http://fordtaurusforum.com/index.php?&CODE=00 But in my opinion, ebay brings the most potential customers to the table for you. Been ebaying for years, likely a decade or more now, selling and buying too.
  3. For FREE? Take em and then ebay them so she can then get the right set of mats for her Fusion. Take a look at the weathertech floor liners instead of the all-weather mats. I've found the AW Mats get dirty and then are harder to clean whereas the floor liners will hold all the same liquid but will be easier to clean periodically. Santa is bringing me a set (I hope.)
  4. OK ya got me... SO for another $100 go buy an Ipod and store tons of music on that tiny drive instead and leave it plugged into the center arm rest box.. So now you've spent roughly $600 total and have a Garmin you can take in any vehicle with you along with a nice new Ipod too.
  5. Pick up a new Garmin Nuvi 1690 GPS for around $500 and put the other $3500 you saved in the bank. The 1690 does everything you might want, GPS, Lane advice, Traffic delays and avoidance, Weather, Movies, etc. The only thing it won't do for you is adjust you HVAC but then you do have separate controls (like always) to do that anyway, right? You are capable of using the standard dash mounted HVAC controls aren't you? I know I am.. The subscription fee is less expensive then Fords anyway, as Garmin gives you two years free after which it's only $5 a month afterwards. Fords is more then double that I believe. http://www8.garmin.com/buzz/1690/
  6. Here's another one too: http://www.fordfocusgraphics.com/ That's no worse then the Ford website still showing old colors for the Fusion on the Fusion home page when the RED was replaced (Sangria replaced by Red Candy)weeks ago already. Websites are meant to be dynamic and easily updated, something FORD has yet to figure out. It's ALWAYS lagging behind reality by weeks if not months.
  7. Hmmmmmmmmmm...... Stumps me! But then I use a garmin, not the built in FOMOCO Nav.
  8. Yea, we get to upgrade too, out of pocket of course. But that's OK because in the end they give you the vehicle for just the income tax of the book value. So, whatever you pay up front in upgrades comes back to you in the end for free. Tax is to be expected. Of course the fine line is keeping your job because you could theoretically shell out for major upgrades and then lose your job AND the car. That's why I myself wont go crazy and get a loaded Sport. The SEL V6 will suit me just fine...
  9. The flag is probably identifying "Home" and my garmin does the same thing. Even though I set home in my driveway right outside the garage door, when I am approaching home from a trip it indicates that home is near to that point but located on the other side of the street. That's OK though by me because if someone ever steals my car with the GPS working, it will not take them directly back to my house. Remember, there's a working garage door opener in my car too so anyone with access to my car has access to my home too. You're better off not setting the home position right at your home just for that reason. Anyway, I'll bet that's what your red flag indicates...
  10. Dave, You misunderstand. This is a new Company Car and I am not eligible to order it new until February. I can't order any sooner and to delay beyond February only will add mileage to my old Company Car which will be mine to keep just as soon as the new replacement arrives. They must be ordered from scratch too, so whatever the prevailingf "wait" is, is how long I must wait for it. No sense adding miles to a car (Escape) that I will wind up owning outright. I joined these forums early but in turn learned allot along the way from other Forum Members and I have decided many things, among them to decide 100% on a new Ford Fusion in the first place. I started out looking at the Taurus, new Escape and the Fusion / Milan too. I'm just glad that I will likely get a chance to see the candy red in person (on a Fusion) before I will order my car. I kind of wanted RED but didn't like Sangria red but I do love the Tuxedo Black still. Bear with me as I'll have my new Fusion early this Spring. I feel by April it will be in my hands.
  11. Funny! (good one) Without even driving the Taurus (which I am confident I would have appreciated it) I sat inside and quickly ruled the car out - for myself. Totally different "feel" in the cockpit and while the car is bigger then the Fusion, you definitely feel more confined and cramped. First, I couldnt see much past the dashboard so that means you see little to none of the hood (I'm 6' tall mind you and I had first adjusted the power seat to driving position for my likes.) Then the center "swoopy" console is very high on your right side and feels like you're seated right next to a wall. Then on the other side (your left side)the door panel comes up higher then usual and felt like it was almost shoulder height. I know it was close or seemed that way (perceived that way - whatever height it was.) Lastly, the door pillar seemed to be immedietely to my left so where I would normally glance out the window before changing lanes, I felt like the door pillar was now in the way, forcing you to rely on the side view mirror by itself. I felt that was likely why Ford developed B.L.I.S. because the blind spot cannot be viewed unless you position your mirrors just right or rely on the BLIS system. I didn't feel confident that I could do it the old fashioned way and turn my head left to see a car alongside me to my left. I do not want to rely on BLIS nor do I want to "pay" for it and I do not intend to buy that option in my Fusion either. In short, I plain felt "claustrophobic" behind the wheel of the new 2010 Taurus, so much so that when the dealer salesman asked me if I wanted to take it for a test drive I declined because I already knew this car was not for me. I have a friend who just got one and didnt drive it before taking it as a new Company Car. He confirmed the same sentiments about the driving position but he can't complain because he choose the car sight unseen. I'm sure it's a really good car and probably drives and handles very very well. It's just not for me..
  12. Slightly off topic (sorry) but anyone know if the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra's really work as advertised? I have read that some people see no difference after replacing standard OE bulbs with the SilverStars. ULTRA is their best.
  13. I wanted a 2010 reworked Ford Taurus, until I actually sat in one that is. (You'd have to do it to understand). I was initially against the Fusion remembering the discomfort I experienced on a short 10 minute test ride on the early 2006 or 2007 model I looked at, as the center console hurt my lower leg after that brief ride. Now that I'm soon due for a new vehicle, I test rode a 2010 Fusion and noticed that the center console has been lowered to a non issue and the car will sell itself. I'm tired of the road noise of my current Ford Escape but love it otherwise. However, I am ready for a bit more comfort (and creature comforts) then the Escape too so a new Fusion it is going to be. (Must be a Ford vehicle since its a Company car.) The only thing I am undecided about right now in december is the color but am getting close to order date. Just a few short 8 weeks to go before I can put my order in. Decided on the SEL V6 with appearance package, reverse sensing system and remote start, oh and with moon and tune as well. Anyone who likes the "looks" of the Taurus will see another side of that car when you go sit in one...
  14. [i google for the Candy Red FF every few days and this one finally appeared on a dealers lot. Not a great photo but they are beginning to roll off the assembly line now. I myself am still undecided on color and would like to see the Candy Red in person on a Fusion before I decide. Still, I'm 90% Tuxedo Black, maybe 97% even...
  15. UPDATE! Like I said above, I ordered one of these "to try" and have been using it for months now and the bottom line is that I love it! It's mounted into one of the vents (passenger vent) of my Ford Escape and it keeps the GPS unit just below dash board level so it's not easily seen from outside the car (no rattles either). It's perfect for me and I plan to buy another just like it for my new 2010 FF when I get it this spring. I also plan to buy a new GPS unit too, likely another new Garmin but one with lane recommendations or pocssibly net connected for weather and traffic alerts too. (Garmin 1690) Anyway, I can recommend this inexpensive mount which was around $20 if memory serves me correctly. A+
  16. I thought that Serius and XM are now one and the same aren't they?
  17. Just noticed it's only your second post here. Welcome to the forum! Seriously, I would complain to your dealer about your seat and you should compare it to other cars on his lot to make your case. maybe they can switch an entire seat out to make it right.
  18. 95% plus of all Mercury Milan's tail lights look like this. Notice the bottom seam and how it doesnt begin to align with the trunk seam. I doubt it can be fixed as it's a sheet metal forming error. Turned me off from buying a new Milan when I saw the dealers lot had every car like this. Nice huh? Ford must be so proud... You'll never see an import with this type of problem. I doubt that GM would even settle for this. -
  19. Step outside your car and look how badly the tail light seams are misaligned with the trunk seams and your wrinkled leather seats won't bother you any more. You see your seats but everyone else sees your tail light seams. :hysterical: Seriously, it's a FORD product, not a high priced import. it is what it is..
  20. Well what do you know! The Lions are 2-9 and have a better record right now then the Cleveland Browns, St Louis Rams and the Tampa Bay Bucs who each are 1-10. With some luck they might also beat San Fran or Chicago too.
  21. Saw some news somewhere today that Nissan is reportedly developing new Lithium Ion batteries that will essentially double the running life of a hybrid car battery. Due to hit the market for 2015 model year. Can't remember where I read it but it was posted today. Found it: http://gas2.org/2009/12/01/with-new-battery-nissan-plans-to-double-ev-range-by-2015/
  22. Hosed because you lost your Sync traffic alerts? Or just hosed in general because of the price? I think the built in NAV is WAYYYYYYYY overpriced by about 50% and myself (although I already own a several year old Garmin) plan to purchase a new Garmin 1690 that does everything the Ford NAV does to include give you lane assist, traffic, weather, gas prices and more, all for under $500. In fact, the price has now dropped to roughly $449 for the 1690 which includes a free two years subscription to NuLink and is only $5 monthly after that. The monthly subscription price is way lower then Fords service cost and savings will add up quickly over time. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=64339 Anyway, I just feel that while the built in NAV is nice it is certainly overpriced, especially when you are first forced to buy the "electronics package" in your Fusion before it allows you to order the NAV. If you didn't really want the electronics BLIS bullchit, then to get the NAV you are forced to spend over $2500 for it to be included. No thanks FOMOCO, I can change lanes without your BLIS and certainly can navigate for way less then you charge.
  23. Ford Focus is now avalable in (get this!) a new color called "natural neutral!" Saw one on the dealers floor yesterday and it looks like a cold bowl of leftover Pea Soup. Who thought that name up, it's sooooooooooooooooooooo original huh? "Natural Neutral" Kind of reminds me of my Sisters brand new 1970 Ford Maverick (may it rest in some junkyard) and that one was officially dubbed by Ford "Anti-establishMINT Green".... Check, it's true! -
  24. It IS available in Black mesh also! (Plus it is available with or without the lower grill as a kit.) - http://www.egclassic.com/inventory/index.php?makeid=7 What I don't like is the stock Ford "honeycomb" around the fog lights and lower grill and possibly the mesh of this replacement grill too. Once that gets loaded up with suicidal dead bugs it's going to be a real PIA to clean them out of all those nooks and crannys.
