Miles to E shows incorrect
Rodeo replied to T1125P's topic in Electrical, Gauges, Instruments, Lighting, Rear View Mirror
I'll bet she made lots of "friends" that day huh? I hope for her sake that she was cute looking at least. (I'm sure she is.) -
At least none of the buttons and controls are hidden in front of the "shifter" like on the Fusion / Milan. (heated seats, ambient lights etc.)

I haven't noticed that yet, but then again I haven't driven my car much at all since bringing it home less then a week ago. I can say though without a doubt that the 12 speaker Sony 390 watt system is a true disappointment. Nothing special about the sound, nor power either. I think my Ford Escape has a better system (audiophile) with better bass for sure. I sure hope I don't find there are other problems too....

Take some better photoso with a digital camera (not your phone) and keep them in your records so you can show what the damage looked like that was repaired. That should put potential buyers at ease.

"My Bad" - that explains it.....

Is this a new option? I thought the only upgrade from the 6-speaker stock radio was the 12 speaker Sony system? (Not impressed with the Sony system now that I actually have it.)

Here's two photos. The first shows the spatter still on the window glass and that same spatter was all over the paint right below the molding there, about as long as the quarter window is itself. Had to work my arse off rubbing that all off with a kitchen sponge and bug & tar remover. It's about 95% better now after working on each side for a good half hour each. I still need to get the glass itself clean, perhaps with a razor blade. It wasn't on the molding though which says it was sprayed on before the molding was placed. Then I spotted the section under the doors in between the door seams. Looks to be the same goop, whatever it is. This is more then little dots of spatter and will take much more work to remove. That's why I'm looking for something better to dissolve it. Thus far, I am not impressed with the build quality of the Fusion . Milan out of Mehico. No quality car built by anybody else would have this carelessness about it. -

OK, When I picked up my new car on Thursday from the Stealer - Dealer, it was filty as all heck. This being a fleet lease, the dealer salesman told me point blank that they don't care and all they do is deliver the car to me regardless of condition. of course I did a walk around before signing for it but now that I've had it home for a few days I found a few issues. Today I washed and waxed the car in my garage. I found some type of sealant / glue? black colored overspray on the paint under each rear quarter window (on the sill mostly, above the rear door handle) and a big area of drippage between the front and rear door on one side, on the bottom sill. I tried 'goo gone" to no avail and finally resorted to "Bug and Tar" remover and worked my arse off to get the window sill areas pretty clean, but not nearly 100% clean. Now that I spotted the bigger area at the bottom of the doors, I can envision the work it will take to get that fairly clean too. Anyone else deal with this overspray on their cars and find a better answer to removal? It seems to be some type of sealer for installing the windows or moldings, or rubber gaskets maybe. All I know is nothing seems to want to cut it and dissolve it away. it's definitely on top of the clear coat and feels like hard rubber dots. (looks that way too.) Good thing it blends in pretty well with the Tuxedo Black paint or it would really look bad. I've already lodged a complaint to the leasing company about the dealershp because of their (I could care less) attitude upon delivery and the fact that the car was not even washed for me. In case anyone is wondering, it's Weisleder Lincoln Mercury in Brick, NJ and I wouldn't ever buy anything from them because of their attitude.

Miles to E shows incorrect

It's a nice feature to have and use especially if you travel allot like me and you're on a thruway somewhere where the "service areas" are a known entity (Service area 1 mile ahead - next service area 25 miles) so you can better plan your stops for refueling and bathroom breaks too. It's not uncommon for me to do 400-450 mile daily jaunts and having this fuel meter is a convenience for sure. Likewise when you're in unfamiliar territory where you aren't sure when the next gas station will be found, it gives you a little peace of mind knowing how far you can go (roughly speaking) before you need to panic and search out a gas station. Gas gauges are notoriously inaccurate (historically) and the needle drops slowly from full to mid range but get down to a quarter tank and the gas seems to just evaporate quickly. That's why the other gauge is helpful some times. -
I got my Blackberry Tour and the SYNC in my car to recognize each other, but when I get out and later get back in my car, they aren't paired any more. I have to go through the process all over again it seems to manually pair them. Isn't there a way to have them automatically "pair up" each time I get back in my car with my phone? -------------------------- Never mind, I think I got it now. it was a setting in the Blackberry that was prohibiting automatic detection. Too bad though that my Blackberry will not support the "text messaging" function of SYNC as SYNC is capable or reading your text messages out loud to you as they come in while driving. It's says 'not compatible" even though I do get texts on my blackberry.

Pulsating third brake light module
Rodeo replied to FFHdriver's topic in Brakes, Chassis, Suspension & Parking Aid
I used one on my motorcycle and it eventually melted the socket and stopped working altogether until I replaced the socket. It pulses really fast at first and gradually slows down to a solid light. It must have generated too much heat or pulled too much current or something so I went back to a standard bulb. it was halogen, not L.E.D. and was a single bulb with electronics built right into the base of it. -
I remember reading a thread a few months ago where someone suggested the proper way to capture the radios ESN so you could register with Sirius. (If I recall, the manual has the instructions wrong?). Anyway, I tried doing a topic search and I scrolled through 6 pages of threads looking for the one thread. Can anyone point me to it or suggest the right way to capture your ESN? My car is a 2010 Milan with the 12 speaker Sony - NO Nav. NEVER MIND, found it.....

That's not just applicable to the FFH correct? That suspension is virtually the same for all Fusion / Milan models I think. The only thing that changes is the minor tweeks for the "Sport Tuned" suspension.

Sony Sound - Bass / Treble Reset
Rodeo replied to b_derksen's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Now THAT would totally suck... Picking up my new car today, hope that doesn't happen to my Sony.. -
I wouldn't....... (But that's just me.)

Dan, Just out of curiosity, what State do you live in because I want to make sure I never move there if the police can't be bothered to come out and write up a report. If I do move there, I'll be packin' heat to deal with offenders then and let the cops come do clean up afterwards...
-
In New Jersey, it doesn't matter if the cars were moving or parked in a private parking lot (mall etc.) as long as there's what appears to be $200 worth of damage (I think that's the threshold). And what cop is going to become a body shop expert and judge what $200 worth of damage looks like anyway, if anything at all is visible, he's going to write up a report for you. Besides, you sneeze today on a car and it's got $200 worth of damage, right? Always, Always, Always get a police report unless the "other guy" is willing to flip open his wallet on the spot and pay you in cash an amount you both agree to. You have nothing to go on other then a name and phone number, which might not even be valid. The other party could claim your damage was pre-existing or that they were never even there. Getting a police report will put a little fear into them and you have something substantial to turn into the insurance company too. Please do let us know how this all ends up because I'm guessing you get little to nothing from the other party involved, nor their insurance either. If you don't get anything, find their car some night and "repay" them in kind (but leave your Son at home this time.) And I agree with BBF, please do remember to treat your Son for tipping you to the event.

ctrcbob, If you're that unhappy with any vehicle you ordered, or made a deposit right on the lot for that matter, simply don't take delvery of it. if you don't take delivery it creates a legal quagmire for the dealer and he cannot simply "keep" you deposit. Once you officially take delivery, the vehicle is yours and all repairs etc are considered under the warranty policy. By not taking posession of the vehicle, the car remains the property of the manufacturer or the dealership and both will work hard to complete the transaction and make you happy. Not taking delivery is in fact the BEST thing you can decide to do, especially if the problems noted are more serious in nature. (If it's a quick fix, then turn that around and tell them you'll take delivery when its completed then.) Had I ordered a car and it came with less standard equipment then was advertised in their brochure, I too would consider that to be a serious breach of the deal and might walk away from the car too. The dealership would likely refund your deposit within 30 days (if not much much sooner) as the longer they held onto it would cause them all sorts of problems. No dealership wants an unhappy customer, nor do they want that unwanted vehicle on their lot or inventory either. As long as you refuse official delivery, trust me, YOU are definitely in the "driver's seat." If you do take delivery of a vehicle with flaws or needed fixes, make sure you get it in writing on the spot just what will be corrected, how and when too. Only then should you make the vehicle "yours." Just out of curiosity, what "standard" items was your car missing when it came in? Are you sure you interpreted the sales brochure correctly? sullied, Please do post some photos once you get your new car. Did you get leather seats?

I hope you had the police respond and write up a report. Good luck to you if you didn't. Undocumented damage is hard to claim, even if you do go to small claims court. Personally, I would laugh at anything close to $1000 for that repair, even though it may in fact be accurate.

Congrats! I wish the "ice blue" exterior was available for non-hybrid models. I think that's a nice combo, light blue with charcoal interior. I don't know how long it takes for everything you asked but I myself am going on 9 weeks now and I expect I may have my car late next week or the following week.

Ordered my 2010 Milan on February 19th and right now it's on a "rail car" somewhere between Mexico and New Jersey. Hoping I get the call some time next week, even though I won't be home to get it. 3 weeks ain't NUTHIN'
-
I'd love to except my car is due to be delivered in another week or 10 days. It shipped from Mexico via rail on April 14th. I'll gladly post pictures once I take delivery though. This is what my wheels will look like except my car will be Tuxedo Black.

QUICK POLL OF THE AUDIENCE: 2010 Black Milan Premier w/ stock 7 spoke alum wheels. Would you put on the Black or Red caliper covers?
-
Good News! I emailed them and here's there answer about the $230 price. "4 with the licensed engraving." So 4 caliper covers in either Red or Black with Ford logo engraving. I think I'll be getting a set in Black for my new Black Milan! THANKS for posting the link - very nice looking product.
-
I sent them an email asking if its for one cover, of for one pair. (I have a good feeling it's for one single cover - in which case I won't be buying them.)
