  1. WOW! I like the covers! Anyone know if the $230 price is for each or for a pair? I think they come in Black or Red. I think the price is each, and that's a little pricey if you ask me. For a pair it would be a decent deal though.
  2. Don't take "no" for an answer until they replace your front bumper cover. Anything less is just plain unacceptable! Park outside the dealership and show it to every prospective customer if you need to embrrass them into replacing it.
  3. The 2010 Fusion "Job 2" changes relocated the button to the steering wheel, so it all depends on when your Fusion / Milan was built.
  4. There's nothing worse on the market today then the locks on my 2007 Ford Escape. It locks all the doors automatically but when you stop and exit your vehicle (in park obviously) it leaves all the other doors locked. You have to manually hit the unlock (which I ALWAYS forget to do!) and when I reach my tailgate or a door on the other side to take something out, I always wind up cursing!!!!!
  5. So then, why all the emphasis to keep building bigger and more powerful V6s and to upgrade cars as they get facelifts with bigger motors such as the 3.5 and 3.7 from Ford? 2016 isn't that far in the future and you would think we'd begin to see some of the alternatives sooner rather then later. Someone mentioned Diesel and yes, I would love to see some diesel alternatives in the cars we drive today. I'd also like to see some alternative vehicles driven by Hydrogen or even some solar charged cars as well. Hydrogen has allot of vehicle potential yet you don't ever hear any of the big auto Companies discuss this alternative. Why is that? Big Oil is the answer, Big profits, Big partnerships, Big back door agreements, etc. etc. http://www.hydrogencarsnow.com/
  6. Exactly! It's all relative to what you have had in the past or what you yourself consider to be bad, adequate or good. That's why there's a few people who rave about the 12 speaker Sony that claims to put out 390 watts (not nearly accurate I don't belive) and those like me who find the system to be mediocre at best. I can agree with you that it's 'not bad at all" but it just isn't spectacular or worth a lot of money either. I have owned cars in my past with stock base systems that come close in power and quality to this supposed top end system.
  7. Well, I'm the one who started this thread and I appreciate all the answers and input. Bottom line is I ordered a new Milan with the "Moon & Tune" because I wanted the Sony system. Yet, I don't expect much as I honestly feel the Sony system is just adequate, nothing special. I didn't want to get the 6-speaker base system and then need to upgrade it. I can "live" with the Sony system but do know it is a disappointment overall. Those that "rave" about it just don't seem tot know what a decent car stereo system should sound like or never had one as mediocre as the Sony system honestly is.
  8. By virtue of the definition of the word "selfish" concerned chiefly or only with yourself and your advantage to the exclusion of others Source: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&defl=en&q=define:selfish&ei=n0y2S4OjFoL7lweV84Fd&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title&ved=0CAYQkAE Therefore, any Company engaged in the persuit of profit is therefore "selfish," with the only exclusions being non-profit Companies. Why do you find my statement so offensive? You don't think they fit that given definition? Of course they're being selfish.
  9. Agreed! However the car companies are not holding gas mileage down with the thoughts of saving our planet either. They are doing it for other selfish reasons like financial profit and other gains coming from the big oil companies. So those are two distinct seperate issues that shouldn't be confused with each other. The Car companies don't really give a rats azz about saving our planet, in spite of there current line of "green advertising," meant to appease us all.
  10. I totally disagree. We could have been getting the mileage we get today in cars 20 years ago, if not longer. Efforts and technologies that would greatly enhance fuel mileage have been bought up and squashed by big business, big oil and big politicians in bed with them all. Even today, hybrids are a scarce commodity on a dealers lot and production is artificially inhibited helping to maintain a high premium price and hindering demand. After all this time, they will now tell you that they can't build the batteries fast enough. Bullchit I say, that's just another excuse in a long line of excuses to keep OIL flowing into our cars and money flowing into their pockets. I'll bet China could build batteries fast enough.....
  11. Let me venture a guess, Is this the guy that found his new Fusion had way too harsh of a ride??
  12. They look really good and if all they cost you are 1-2 mpg, no big deal. Some would probably say though that IT IS a big deal but the only one it matters to is yourself. Car looks sportier then any other FFH.
  13. In cell phone lingo it stands for: In Case of Emergency
  14. Looks good! Let us know how it holds up to road debris, bugs and road projectiles.
  15. Here's the Grey in monochrome: http://www.fordfusionclub.com/index.php?topic=163609.0 P.S. I don't think the Atlantis green is available with the Monochrome Appearance Package. That is only available on the Red Candy (or older Sangria Red if you can locate one), Blue, Tuxedo Black or Sterling Grey. The Green is however an available color on the Sport Model though, sans monochrome grill though.
  16. Monochrome Appearance Package? Sure... I took these photos of the Red, Blue and Black with Monochrome grill. http://www.fordfusionclub.com/index.php?topic=163790.0
  17. (My opinion only) The electronics on these cars will not last nearly as long as your 1991 Plymouth Sundance did. You're lucky if it outlives the warranty. That stuff is bound to crap out in a few years at best. BUT that being said, only YOU can determine how much the option could be used and valued. Like the poster above, I use both side mirrors whenever backing and I didn't order the "electronics package" on my new car. Just wait till you look into buying updated maps for your built in NAV... (cough) LOL
  18. Or something small like a cracked weld on the sub-frame.........
  19. I would have been really surprised to hear anything different. Why add extra sensors that arent really needed. Who cares if you have a passenger or not. Apparently FORD thinks this way too. (And its the way it should be anyway.)
  20. How "low end" can those Michelin Pilot's be (MXM4s) because they're close to $200 a piece if Im not mistaken from the Tire Rack? Normally yes, Car manufacturers put on very inexpensive (ok-cheap) tires as OE fitment and the Fusion Sport is just such an example. That is fitted with Gooryear Eagle RS-As and are worth about $68 a piece. I don't have my Milan yet but was hoping those Michelin's would be decent rubber. As a side note, my current ride is a 2007 Ford Escape and that came fitted with Continental Conti-Tracs and they wore like IRON. I didn't replace them until 60,000 miles and they still had plenty of (more then legal) tread left on them. I really liked how they wore and how they handled dry AND snow covered roads too, even deep snow although I did have 4WD. No complaints except they are known for generating road noise, which is their one weakness. Anyway, I did replace them with another new set of the same tire, except I got blackwalls this time. For the price, they last forever...
  21. Ford does this amid the Toyota meltdown in hopes the Ford problems pale in comparison to Toyotas (which it does) and doesnt tarninsh the FFH as badly as it might or could. One thing about Toyota, you can bet the ranch that Toyota will be a high quality car to buy once again in the near future. One photo of the CEO of Toyota "bowing" was enough to convince me of that. 2011 Toyotas will be top quality. Car Companies are all the same though and they live in denial until the economics of a repair or recall make it the right route to pursue financially. Whatever hurts them less is what they do, regardless of injury to the buyers / owners / drivers. Thats one thing the Japanese have learned well from the American Car Companys.
  22. Just wondering if anyone had the opportunity to check out the sound quality difference between the stock SE 6-speaker set up versus the Sony 12 speaker upgrade? I myself don't really want a moonroof and the only way to get the Sony set up is in a package with a moonroof. So, I was wondering if the stock radio would be good enough. Anyone make that comparison already? If so, opinions appreciated. (Yes, I will also need to go listen for myself too.)
  23. We have two Honda Civic's in our household (one for my Wife and one for an adult Daughter) and the welcome message was indeed changable. We programmed them to say welcome (your name) upon starting up the cars. That is a cool feature I think. It would be fun to program it to say "Get in, Sit down, Shut up and Hold on!"
  24. As with any commercial product that is for sale, we all vote with our $$ and my vote is "no sale." I'll stick with the OE 3-Bar chrome grill. That's my vote.
  25. Now thats just too funny! (and TRUE!!)
