  1. The below is TSB 14-0214 for transmission on 2013-2014 model years, but does not list specific build dates. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/9352-technical-service-bulletins-tsbs/?p=89122
  2. The pads on my 2010 FFH lasted a long long time and I replaced them at 140k just because I had the news ones sitting in a box on the shelf in the garage for over a year. There was about half of the pads left, as I've posted that pic in a couple different threads on the forum already. However on my 2006 Escape Hybrid, a few years ago I went for an inspection and they called back to say I needed rear brakes replaced (had about 60k miles at that time) and I thought sure they were BS-ing me just to get me to pay for a brake job, so I said put the wheels back on and put the failure sticker on the windshield, I will check it out myself. Got home and pulled a rear wheel and sure enough the rear brakes were gone at 60k, while the fronts were fine. Now to the present with the 2013 Energi where I've had lifetime brake score of 98% over 56k miles, and I got the tires rotated a couple weeks ago and was told "we looked at the brakes and the fronts look new, but the rear ones are going to need replacing before too long" -- that was a surprise, and I plan to pull the rear wheels this weekend or next to get a look for myself. So it's a sharp contrast between the 2010 FFH which had virtually no wear and the 2013 which potentially has much more wear, all with the same driver who drives very smoothly and conservatively with good brake scores. So ya never know...
  3. Ding ding ding ding, another winner! That's another one of the popular phrases that we've heard from several new owners along the past few years.
  4. Just did the renewal dance once again, called them for my car that was renewing tomorrow, told them no I would rather cancel than to renew at the regular rates, but would go for another 6-month subscription of they wanted to do that. Lady said no sorry that rate is not available anymore, but if I wanted to go month-by-month the cost would be $14.99 per month, I said no thanks. She then said OK sorry to see you go, let me xfer you to the department that handles the closeout... I was surprised that I didn't get the normal song & dance. Then the next operator comes on and asks why I was cancelling, I said regular rates too high, she said well we have annual plan for $89 if I wanted that instead (OK we are now back on script, was thinking it was really "over" this time) for total cost with taxes and fees of $105... I said no thanks that's still too high, I saw an offer on TV of $5 per month -- she said OK we have special of 5 months for $25, I said OK go ahead and do that, total cost with taxes and fees $30. So now I have my outlook reminder for 3 days shy of '5' months instead of '6' months....
  5. Welcome neighbor, enjoy and let us know how the MPG goes (after the first tank or two)...
  6. Just make sure that you know whether the price quoted does or does not include freight and/or tax/tags/processing/etc and whether you are OK with the real bottom line pricing. Lots of people get new car fever and see a price that looks good on a web site and go take a test drive and are all excited and ready to sign the papers and then find that the $30,000 is now $33,000 or whatever and by that time the new person's new car fever overrides their thoughts of shopping around a bit more for a better deal, and they pay more than they wanted -- it's almost like car dealers count on that type of thing happening. ;) Good luck!
  7. And for those who occasionally drive in those type conditions, I wonder how much is exposed to the elements since that fiberglass-type cover is on the bottom and tends to keep that type of stuff out of the area, unless it's outside of that area and more exposed.
  8. Koons is a large chain in the area that sells many brands -- I've had a few email and PM exchanges from those looking around for just the right car (such as your case) and in a couple of those cases they ended up getting a better deal by a few hundred at Koons, so it's likely you did pretty well.
  9. Yep, me too... just like the 2010 FFH did, and the 2005 Prius before that.
  10. It was also a heck of a PCM update to adjust the manual calculation on the pump when I filled up, dang they are sneaky
  11. The car was originally delivered to a dealer in MD - see the 'MD' on top left of the window sticker. MD is one of the about 10 states that have similar (don't know if exactly the same) emissions requirements as CA.
  12. Here's one that I've posted on the forum before, from a road trip last year on I-81 from VA to TN where there are a lot of rolling hills, but definitely not to the extent of rjent's hills in NM. Anyway, in my experience I've found the 2013 Energi to get about 5% lower MPG than the 2013 FFH did, but the below is from a trip in the Energi and it was definitely no slouch on MPG -- speed limit was 65 along most of that so I had the cruise set on 68 and below were the results. The first trip was 173 miles (shown at bottom) and that was helped by having a full HVB charge to start, but the rest of it was all hybrid mode.
  13. Looking at one of the letters from Ford to dealers, it says "Demonstration / Delivery Hold" and then says "DO NOT DEMONSTRATE OR DELIVER any of the affected vehicles involved in this safety recall" -- but doesn't stipulate new vs used.
  14. I think that was you and me emailing about Carmax a while back, as I've sold several through them as it's more than I've been offered by the dealers and less hassle and risk than selling privately. I sold a car privately and the new owner never registered it in his name and the car got impounded and later involved in an accident and guess who gets pulled in? The titled owner. Yes I was cleared of liability and trouble but since then have chosen to avoid the complication. Anyway, yes I sold the 2013 FFH to Carmax and they only had it listed for 2-3 days and it was sold, with the 13S04 fuel delivery module outstanding, and probably still hasn't been done! I will have to send the VIN to GrySql and see if he can check. Update: GrySql did check, car still has the 13S04 outstanding as well as anything new since then. I have never received any letter so Ford must know there is a new owner -- sure wish Sirius did, I constantly get offer letters for the ESN of that car's radio!
  15. And here's the sticker -- either one would be a good deal, depends if you want Ruby Red or Platinum White...
  16. What is the VIN of the new one? The invoice date is not listed on it (there is a date at the bottom which I think is the date sent to plant and normally a week prior to build but not always), but I think that only matters if there was a price change during the model year. Others may know more about that part of the process.
  17. Window sticker below (was retail order by someone in Oxford, MS) - built in December 2012, 3 days after mine was -- some reported issues with their Job 1 FFH but mine was great and exceeded the 47 MPG (but not as good as Sleddog's above)... Maybe someone has access to Oasis data on this?
  18. I'm not so sure about that one... I had the wrench show up once on my 2010 FFH, at 66k miles when the O2 sensor went out of range for whatever reason that needed replacement. The car now has over 200k miles and that was the only time the wrench light ever came on.
  19. What is the VIN of the prospective 2013?
  20. Yes, I use the 19mm each time - I guess the casing of the socket you're using is too "high quality" and thus too thick? I have had the same set of craftsman sockets for many years and fits OK.
  21. Here are the ones I got, worked fine for me: http://smile.amazon.com/DPAccessories-D3116-HT-2305-20-Premium-Chrome/dp/B00H1IBKIK/
  22. My point was that it is a stupid place to locate the button, not the functionality.
  23. Or just two buttons that take up the same space, for cars that don't have the park assist. Notice how the larger button for the fuel door can make it a larger target to get pushed inadvertently...
  24. Reminds me of an encounter in a grocery store a few years ago, and swear I'm not making this up: As we walked in the front of the store they had a large bin of sweet corn, among the various specials on display. We were in the back part of the store where the produce was, and I said to my wife "hey look, sweet corn 25 cents each, want some?" This guy was walking by and excitedly gave me the tip "don't get it back here, there's a big bin up front where they are selling it 8 for 2 dollars!"
