June 2010, we bought an Edge and got a $2,000 rebate for using Ford finance at whatever rate they offered (4.9% or 6.9% or whatever it was) - refinanced with our credit union a month later and they paid off (xfer'd) the Ford credit loan so I didn't pay any finance charge. I specifically asked the finance guy during the purchase if I could pay it off right away and he said there were no restrictions (so we did), so be sure to ask your finance rep during your purchase to make sure the conditions haven't changed.

How about instead: Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) will release its July 2016 U.S. sales results at approximately 9:15 a.m. ET Tuesday, August 2, 2016.

I have bought several from Flood and the process was easy - but do a price check from Anderson-Koch (see post #65 above) which others have also said was quick and easy, and see which is the better price.

I think all of the 2013 VINs were included, as they started builds of the 2014 around June didn't they? I just got the below from the NHTSA site... SUMMARY:Ford Motor Company (Ford) notified the agency on April 23, 2015, that they are recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured July 1, 2012, to May 31, 2013, and 2012-2014 Fiesta vehicles manufactured February 1, 2012, to May 31, 2013. On April 30, 2015, Ford expanded the recall to cover an additional 119,567 vehicles, including certain model year 2011 Ford Fiestas manufactured from November 11, 2009, to May 31, 2013 and certain model year 2013 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured from February 1, 2012, to June 30, 2012. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

Here is the text from the article: DEARBORN, Mich., June 1, 2016 – Ford is issuing a safety recall for vehicles that have certain non-desiccated Takata passenger-side frontal airbag inflators after Takata declared those inflators are defective. Sorry about your frustration, it sure is goofy the way they deem what is covered and what is not. We had a 2006 Escape Hybrid and only had one problem ever with it (over 5 years, it was a great vehicle), the CEL came on so I went to the dealer. The cause was that a fan for the HVB in back was going bad and needed replacement, but was not covered under my extended warranty or the 8/100 hybrid warranty. I said the exact thing that you did above, that "how could Ford say this is not related to the hybrid system when that's the only reason it exists back there?" but like your battery cable situation, maybe they reasoned that well there are fans elsewhere on the car so it's not covered. Pretty goofy and very frustrating...

Same here, was that way on the FFH and also the Energis.

The part that raises the average transaction price... but as for relating to functionality, maybe (probably?) none of them...

My FFH got the TSB done in 2013, probably a ways back in this thread... the sound would occur from a stop of when going slow and quiet and getting back on the gas it would make this ping-pong sound, but would not happen when applying the brake -- only when getting back on the gas after stopping or after being on the brake to slow up. Then last year it started doing it on the Energi (had 64k miles at the time), and the sound was so similar to what the hybrid did, but then the dealer checked it and found the cause to be some support bracket insulator had worn (very surprising since I drive smoothly and rarely ever would slam on the gas) -- below was the repair order. So who knows, if you are getting that type of sound it could be the thrust washer thing that was the cause of the TSB, could be the insulator thing as shown below, or could be something else.... let us all know!

Excellent job! However I don't know if I-66 is the world's largest parking lot, I-95 (in NoVA and in many states, actually) gives it plenty of competition. But getting such great range makes the parking lot traffic not quite as bad... still sucks, but just not as much.

Congrats - several have made 600+, I think I made it over 700 once, but of course that was with no HVAC and keeping speeds down to less than 60... plenty of anticipation of upcoming traffic lights etc to be as smooth as possible on the slowdown and speeding back up again. At least that's how I've found it to work well. Before long you will be over 600, and in the meantime it makes the drive more of a game --

Congrats -- I think it's normal to notice more cars of the same color once you get one and it sticks in your head and you tend to be more on the lookout for them... at least IMHO. Enjoy the car, let us know how the road trip goes!

Was this after the purchase was completed, or during a test drive? Was everything OK during the test drive or did you not have one?

Sounds like the grim reaper has struck again... in April my wife's Energi will hit the 3 year mark and has not shown any symptoms at all (actually the only thing gone wrong in 3 years is the leather driver seat coming unlatched), but I will be at the dealer getting inspection and 4 recalls (15E03, 14S21, 15S16, 15R01) performed, I see the writing on the wall and would rather pay for the ounce of prevention now than to have her get stuck unexpectedly, so might as well get the 12V replaced then.

This is on the 2010 model (and I think 2010-2012), which has a single engine (serpentine) belt... I would take it to the dealer to get it changed, never wanted to mess with it myself and one time I talked with the tech and he said they are a pain to get to - so I am glad to pay them the labor to do it. However I don't think the 2013 and newer have any belts.

I have done my own oil changes every 5k with Quaker State 5W-20 Full Synthetic. The only things that have ever gone wrong was a left front wheel bearing at 33k (replaced free under warranty), a CEL at 66k (O2 sensor replacement), and a right front wheel bearing at 118k. I normally have the dealer change the engine belt every 50k (they say those belt are good for 100k but it helps me sleep better at night) and I had the other O2 sensor changed at 140k (prevention only, was running fine), 12V battery at 140k (also for prevention) and then had them change both sensors again at 210k (prevention again). I had dealer change spark plugs at 100k and 210k. And I think that's it.

Yes I believe it is the same, was originally announced as 15S14 for those cars in the salt states, then expanded as 15R01 to cover cars in other states for inspection of the components and replacement if needed.

I just changed the oil again last week when it was 150 miles shy of 220k, all still well...

Different model year - the 2010-2012 models had a different type of air cleaner system which is designed without a filter element serviceable by regular owners, as with the 2013 and new models..
