  1. Well I can't say, haven't had the 2013 FFH in a while... but the buttons on the 2013 Energis are exactly where they should not be.
  2. Well that's a good tip for others and an improvement, as the below has only occurred the very same way about a dozen times: We are about to drive somewhere together and my wife gets in and purse leans down on the fuel release button and 'doink' there goes the lid release. Me: "Ahh geez not again, I told you to watch for the stupid button!" (as I get out to close it back up) Her: "Well it's a stupid place to put the stupid button!" Yeah, about a dozen times or so...
  3. The 12V battery for a 2010 FFH is in the front, under the hood. I had mine replaced at 140k at the dealer, had not exhibited any bad symptoms but I was about to turn the car over to a family friend and wanted to start them off with a new 12V battery. IIRC the battery was about $100-120 so not a huge markup, don't think there was much labor cost to install as it's pretty accessible there in front under the hood.
  4. In addition to Carfax, you can also check the VIN on autocheck, com
  5. If you look at the list of options, one listed below is the Daytime Running Lights, which I believe were only available on fleet purchases. Then look at the purchasing dealer info on the bottom left (not the very bottom that said it shipped to the dealer in Mass.) where it notes it was sold to ARI in Mt Laurel NJ. I looked at their web site http://www.arifleet.com/services/vehicle_management/ and it may not be a rental vehicle but I believe it was a fleet vehicle, which may have been used by company X and may have been only driven by a handful of company execs or may have been the car that many used for all sorts of purposes, who knows. The car may be fine, my point was just that it is not the traditional type car that was owned by 1 owner. The dealer doesn't have to disclose this, and you may be able to still buy an extended warranty on it for peace of mind as long as it hasn't been 3 years, not sure on the specifics so definitely double-check that if you are interested.
  6. Not on the 2010, as I ordered mine with everything possible and it didn't have those -- so I doubt the 2011-2012 did either. To the OP - that Sheehy dealer is only 30 miles up the road from me, if you get serious about that one and want me to check something on it, let me know. Added - looks like this is a past rental car from Massachusetts, see attached window sticker -- not saying that's a disqualifying attribute for all buyers, but it may not have been treated with TLC, who knows...
  7. This afternoon I went to a public showing of the 2016 Volt, which I think is great looking on the outside but the inside was OK but a bit "plasticky" - but for someone who is looking for more EV range, it has an HVB more than twice the size of the Energi so depending on a person's priorities they may care a lot more about that than the finer points of the interior. Not a great day to make a trip to downtown DC, since holiday weekend coming up and everyone wanted to skip town and probably take Friday off: Here's the nice lady who was giving the sales pitch and handing out the brochures, talking with a Volt owner - I asked him if he was a Volt forum member and he said he doesn't post but goes to that forum for info. She said that this color is the Iridescent Pearl... was a nice color but not sure it's worth a premium price (on 2015 model it's an extra $995), however it was overcast so maybe be really comes to life in the sunshine. Here is the door on the left side in the rear that is meant to hold the 120V charger -- it was too dark to show it very well, but there is a net inside that comes up a few inches to help keep the charger in there, and then the door goes into the two notches at bottom and knob twists at the top to secure it. It was really just a flimsy piece of plastic, I thought maybe it would have been good to have it be a bit thicker and hinges at the bottom so that the door doesn't get lost, but then the cord might catch the door and break a hinge, etc. One of the things I really wanted to check was the black plastic trim that goes along the bottom of the doors, and it is smooth shiny black plastic rather than the rougher texture plastic that can get muddy and tough to clean, etc. To compare on the Fusions, it was similar to the piano black that stays shiny, rather than the duller black plastic that was on my 2013 SE Hybrid that was tough to keep clean. There was also a guy there to help demo the car, he was wiping down the outside every few minutes -- it was bit disconcerting that when one Volt owner wanted to open the hood and was having trouble finding the secondary latch, that the demo guy said "it doesn't have a latch" (I always thought a secondary latch was required for safety reasons) and then told the owner that "maybe they (Chevy) don't want it to be shown since this is a pre-production model" -- however 10 minutes later a different owner went and found the secondary latch and opened it up -- so the secondary latch is yellow just up and to the left of the bowtie. Here are the other pics I took - and since the Volt is "dead" per a recent article that was very pro-Tesla and anti-Volt, I also snapped a pic of Ford's Theater since it was only 100 yards around the corner. http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a551/jeff_h_fusion/Volt_20150521_02_zpsquyf4q2x.jpg http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a551/jeff_h_fusion/Fords_Theater_1_zpslgmnbhh9.jpg http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a551/jeff_h_fusion/Fords_Theater_2_zpscdhzssje.jpg
  8. ... and when they say that this offer doesn't currently apply to your vehicle, tell them OK then just let it expire. They will likely then offer a deal close to that, such as $89/yr and hope you bite on that, but just say no thanks that if you can't get the 5 months for $20 rate that you saw on another flyer you'll just let it expire. Then they "will see what they can do, please hold" and then you might get put on hold for about 30 seconds or so, then they come back and say that they talked to the supervisor and got the OK to offer you this rate. I have been doing this dance with my car and my wife's car every 6 months each for almost 2 years, it seems to follow that pattern each time.
  9. The 2016 will have lane keep assist, video clip on their site says it will nudge you back into your lane, so I assume it's more than just an audible warning. Yeah an upgrade to 6.6kW charging would be nice, the 2016 is getting an upgrade from 3.3kW but only to 3.8kW, which helps but going to 6.6kW definitely would have been better.
  10. Better take an extended test drive to make sure the seat is agreeable...
  11. Not so fast, better check out the seats as you said those are important - you'd think they would have power seats, I guess not. Below is from the ordering guide: Seat adjuster, driver 6-way manual, fore/aft, up/down with recline S S Seat adjuster, front passenger 6-way manual, fore/aft, up/down with recline
  12. Attached is the order guide for anyone who wants to browse - base price around $34k and about $38-41k loaded with available packages/options, but then reduce that with $7,500 tax credit for those who qualify (meaning your tax liability needs to be at least $7,500, not your withholding... we discuss that in the Energi forum now and then) Stuff I like: 18.4 kWh HVB (about 2½ times the size of the Fusion Energi) so HVB estimated range is 50 miles I don't like: No adaptive cruise, and "Pedestrian safety signal, automatic audible signal during low speed driving" which means no more stealth mode, your car will now make some fake annoying sound What coulda been better: Charging rate on current Volt and Fusion Energi are 3.3kW, while the Leaf has capacity of 6.6kW... ordering guide doesn't say, but article on motor trend says the capacity is upgrading from 3.3kW to 3.8kW but not 6.6kW as the Leaf has. 2016_Volt_Order_Guide.pdf
  13. No - she begged the insurance company "please don't total it" though they only go by numbers of course... but said that they are fixing it, so like acdii says "the car will live!"
  14. Planning to replace it, or trimming down the fleet?
  15. My guess noted above was $8k, she got the initial estimate today of $6,400 -- get in there and find a few other things that weren't discovered on the initial estimate, will probably bring that $6,400 up a bit.
  16. It stopped working for me in Etis too, so I just log into fordowner.com (as Hermans notes) to get the info.
  17. Yes this is the car for which I just posted in another thread a couple weeks ago that it passed the 200k mark and still looks and runs great. Never had an accident of any kind -- until this morning when a crackhead deer couldn't wait until October or November and needed to get a jump on his buddies. Now since it has so many miles, the new owner (good family friend so I still see the car every few days) is afraid that they will deem it a total loss since it will probably be big bucks (pun intended) to fix. My guess from just looking at the picture is $8k, but who knows as so much of it depends on what was affected behind the grill and under the door rather than just a few panels.
  18. "This recall applies to the affected vehicles originally sold in, or currently registered in the following states:" Both of mine are registered in VA (thus would not qualify) but were both purchased at different dealers that were both in MD (is on the list, thus they should qualify) -- but neither car shows the recall in the Ford owner account. I guess I'll keep checking now and then.
  19. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Sorry you had to deal with the major repair, but very glad to hear this part! :happy feet:
  20. Yep, my SE Hybrid (built Dec 2012) had the touch buttons on top, and the Energis (buit Feb & Mar 2013) have the push buttons on top. But unlike hybridbear, I don't like the touch buttons just like I don't like the ones on the dash, they are too easy to activate by accident.
  21. Well I was going to say "hey there's a TSB for that" and point you to the below thread with the TSB attached, but see that you've had it done twice and still have issues. Well maybe the OP can give it a try, as from what I read from others they saw an improvement. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/7849-tsb-13-10-4-loss-of-one-touch-up-power-window-operation/?p=81134
  22. I wondered the same thing, but didn't much worry about it as I have the Titanium package and that already has the doohickey and so I'm happy.
  23. Great job on the MPG... and I live the above comment day in and day out, thought it may be fitting to get a license plate frame that on top frame says "Hurry Up!" and then on bottom frame "Red Light's Waiting" as that indeed it how it works out 95% of the time.
