  1. 2014 with 83k miles. Last year, the dealership said that the brakes were almost 100% new with very little wear. A pleasant surprise with a Hybrid.
  2. See: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/SB-10092366-5448.pdf It's only for 2013-2016 Fusions so you should be fine. As someone mentioned on another thread, there aren't that many reports of failures compared to the number of Fusions on the road. Here's a thread with some transmission discussions: I don't think changing the transmission fluid will prevent the failure since it's probably a manufacturing defect but it doesn't apply to your vehicle anyway.
  3. I have no experience with this but hopefully it will be garaged. I found this blog: https://www.carpro.com/blog/how-to-care-for-your-ev-or-hybrid-when-not-in-regular-use Hope it helps!
  4. Hello, The battery life depends on the weather (specifically heat) in your area. If it's a 2019, assuming it's the OEM battery, there's a chance that it may need to be replaced since it's 4 years old. You can get it tested at a local auto store to be sure. The battery is in the trunk and can be replaced by an auto shop or if you're good at DIY, you can do it yourself. (I replaced mine on my own) My SE's battery lasted 7 years because the weather in CA is pretty good, and the car is garaged when not driven. Titanium models have more bells and whistles so I'm not surprised if there's more battery drain. There are batteries that have a 3-year replacement warranty and a 5-year pro-rated warranty. If a battery lasts 4 years, it's fine. Anything beyond that is a bonus.
  5. I decided to change the oil and filter myself. I bought Mobil1 Hybrid 0W-20 oil and a Mobil1 Extended Performance M1-102A filter. Anyone try this combination? Any thoughts? Details on the oil: https://www.mobil.com/en-us/passenger-vehicle-lube/pds/na-xx-mobil-1-hybrid-0w-20
  6. I have a 2014 FFH SE with approximately the same mileage. No issues yet. From what you've written here, I think the dealership was trying to make money off the previous owners/couple. They may have said this to sell them a new car and get a cheap, trade-in. The TSB clearly mentions a thumping/grinding sound which is clearly not present from what you've described. " Is a thumping/rubbing or grinding noise present? Yes - proceed to Step 4. No - this article does not apply. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01 for normal diagnostics. " I would not worry about it but that's me. You could take it to another dealership for an inspection but there's a possibility that they may tell you the same thing.
  7. I've never had to top it off in 9 years but if I did, I'd either get the OEM one or something that's spec'd for Ford vehicles. I don't see myself adding green coolant to orange coolant but I've never researched it that much.
  8. Definitely low. It should be at min at least (assuming the car is on a leveled surface). There should be a max mark somewhere too. I make sure that it's between min and max when cold.
  9. Appreciate the update. What was wrong with the original one?
  10. My 2014 keyfobs have their original batteries, so 9 years and counting ? The logical reason is that I have an actual key for the ignition which is why the fob only uses the battery when I press a button. The push-button ignition Fusions have an 'always-on' fob
  11. My best *guess* is loose wiring but if you really want to know, try another dealership that's willing to diagnose the issue. Maybe even an independent mechanic. How old is your battery? I googled it and there are a bunch of different options including a faulty ABS sensor: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=ford+abs+hill+assist+light+after+a+bump
  12. From your description, it can't be the battery if it started up fine on the 2nd and 3rd try. If there was rumbling in the engine that went away, it could be something in the fuel that got cleared out? Do you use Top Tier gas? Maybe a fuel system cleaner will do the trick?
  13. We have a 5 year old Sienna and a 9 year old Fusion. I feel both seem to make this noise when I back into our garage. I assumed it's some kind of ABS mechanism or something. At times, I even thought it maybe related to our driveway. I doubt a dealership has any motivation to diagnose this issue. I'm going to keep driving these vehicles until it's more frequent and reproducible.
  14. Fortunately, after I cleared the codes, it hasn't happened again. I think it was a one-off thing in my case.
  15. Thanks for the update. You forgot to tell us if the camera works now ? but I'm assuming it does. Do you see the parking guides/lines, etc? Just curious because mine work intermittently.
  16. How old is the battery? If the battery tested ok, could be some kind of parasitic drain. Is the gas mileage ok? I wonder if it's the high voltage battery given that it's almost at 200k miles (which is awesome, btw.)
  17. You may want to replace the backup bulbs while you're at it. After I was done replacing the camera, I realized that I should have done that because they are the only non-LED bulbs and they are not easy to reach.
  18. ? These cars are almost 10 years old and still running strong. I don't have the knowledge (or patience) to troubleshoot an electronic camera so I decided to replace it. I suspected the battery but I couldn't tell for sure. The way I look at it is that if it lasted for 10 years, a new one will hopefully last another 10. It's something we use daily when backing into our garage so it's a no-brainer to replace.
  19. Hi Bruce, I had a problem with the rear camera as well and I ended up replacing it. There are videos on youtube on how to do that. I bought a camera on Amazon which works well except that it doesn't show the guide lines. For me, it doesn't matter because I only use it to see what's at the back. I didn't pay attention to those lines. There's a good chance that the camera has gone bad after all these years. Hope that helps
  20. I replaced my Fusion's 12v a couple of years ago. I didn't have to do anything. Seems to work fine after the replacement.
  21. From my experience, you'll lose 7 to 10% gas mileage. I wrote about it here:
  22. See if the reset procedure here helps: If not, you'll have to take it to the dealer or let Carmax know. (Maybe you bought rdr's car :))
  23. Sorry to hear. Hope you're ok and no one was hurt. I don't see any issues with getting a newer model. They are generally better than older ones.
