  1. Still waiting. Are there any Ford reps on here anymore? I tried PMing FordService a while back and did not get any response. Still love the car, but it really sucks driving around with a fuel gauge that seemingly displays anything but the truth. I'm lucky to have not run out of gas yet, although it seems I may have come close a couple of times.
  2. Update: Waiting for the dealer to contact me to say the part has arrived... Been close to a month, I guess.
  3. Congrats marcs30115! Behold the awesomeness of the FFH. :)
  4. I think what was meant about Grade Assist operation, was that the engine is engaged or turning, not necessarily "running," per se. While the sound it makes might be disconcerting, I believe it to be normal for this car. Of course, my passengers always think there's something going wrong...
  5. MFT is really not as "high tech" as it was made out to be. JMO.
  6. Why not just engage the Grade Assist button?
  7. Probably just a fluke. Can't remember anyone reporting a similar problem. Enjoy your new car! Read up on it. It's a little different, if you're not familiar with hybrids. Ask questions. Lots more eager help here.
  8. So, two weeks later, my service advisor calls and says Ford has offered $300 towards the repair. I, lacking the energy/will to fight for more, call it a fair deal. Part(s) are on order.
  9. Yes, especially since the reaper seems to come without warning. I guess it's the nature of these batteries and how they're used. Not quite sure what to make of this situation just yet. Perhaps the new batteries will fare better. At least they'll be free if they fail before 3 years.
  10. I joined the dead 12V battery club after just 28 months. Since I was over the b2b mileage, replacement was on me. Went out yesterday morning and the remote wouldn't open the door locks... I knew right away. Picked up a replacement from a local dealer - the new part number, with higher CCA, btw. Installed it last night. Funny that I get 36 months, unlimited miles, free replacement warranty with the new battery, but was limited to less than that for the original one.
  11. So, I've learned what's probably causing this problem. When I had it in for recalls, they checked the wiring coming from the fuel tank area and discovered a connector near the bulkhead in the area of the left wheel well. I was told when they pulled the connector off, water came out of it and the connections were corroded. I was given an estimate of $600+ to repair, but they did not do the work, as the part was not in stock anyhow. I asked if perhaps this could be covered under warranty, since I brought it in for the same problem nearly a year ago, and it was never corrected. My theory is that the problem went away over the summer with warmer temps and dryer conditions. It has been an intermittent problem and seems to be worse when it's cold/wet. After getting the car back, the gauge seemed to function correctly for a couple of days and the check engine light also went out. Presumably draining the water out and possibly disturbing the connections might have helped. However, a couple of days later, with more precipitation and severe cold, and the problem has returned. The service adviser said he'd talk to Ford to see if they'd cover this repair, since I'm now out of the b2b warranty. It's been a week and I haven't gotten an answer.
  12. The way he described is how Android phones work. The contacts are stored on the phone and are backed up to a Google account.
  13. Even when I've had a traffic subscription, reroutes are extremely rare with this nav system. I've run into traffic that caused 20 minute delays, and the factory nav didn't even consider any obvious alternate routes. Google nav does a fantastic job for me. I've all but abandoned my factory nav.
  14. No, really, give us a break! One bottle boosts your MPG by 2, and this lasts 20-30 fillups? No way. Grill blockers year round? Nope. (Disclaimer; I blocked mine last winter, but didn't bother this year.) Super-inflated tires? No. Check my Fuelly numbers. I don't do anything, but drive the car gently, and I'm right there with you MPG-wise.
  15. Ha! I distinctly remember my salesman mentioning the apps available for download and the free map updates online. Lol! Should have done my homework... In other regards, however (MPG), I have no qualms. Just wish I could have back the extra cash I wasted on MFT and Navigation.
  16. Oh, never mind. I see you're well over the bumper to bumper mileage limit... I think the only way would be if you had an extended warranty.
  17. Are you still under warranty? My dealer just gave me a rental for my 2014 with the check engine light on. They mentioned that Ford paid for it, so it seems you should ask them for the same.
  18. Come on man, that's just not even significant. BTW, I've compared mine a few times in both of my cars and found no significant difference between GPS, odometer, and mile markers.
  19. Dear Ford, I brought my 2014 Fusion Hybrid in for service yesterday. The check engine light was on, and there's a recall to also be performed. Your dealer was kind enough to arrange a rental for me - a pretty cool one at that! I was surprised when they offered a 2016 F-150! Very nice. The Ecoboost knocked my socks off. Smooth, quiet, and powerful. It's not the fanciest F-150 out there. Cloth seats and no navigation - just plain old Sync. I paired my phone and it hit me... This basic beast has Applink! It was so easy and nice to control the Pandora app on my phone through the interface on the dash, or by voice! Which leads me to wonder again... Why can't us owners with Sync with MyFord Touch have such nice things? Didn't we pay more to get the best? Applink for MFT. Is that too much to expect? Sincerely, Ed P.S. What's that button for in MFT that's labeled "Install Apps..."?
  20. Well, I only notice the changes while moving, however, lately it's like roulette when starting the car. I never know where it's going to start out, or if it's going to go up or down! I can't say I've watched it for long while not moving.
  21. In Maryland, I see my lowest MPG from late November through about the end of March. However, Spring, Summer, and Fall more than make up for the bleak Winter months! In the end, it should even out. You probably won't be so concerned if your MPG jumps to 46 in a few months.
