What "Eco-Mode" button are you referring to?

Great Car...But Will Never Buy Another Until One Thing Fixed
storksb replied to Phil3's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
And this is the reason for taking cars on extended test drive, to locations you go regularly i.e. home. Many modern cars are low to the ground to aid in efficiency and given that many road engineers are designing roads only suitable for trucks and SUV's this is going to become more of an issue. -
The SE tail lights are fully functional as is, designed to all relevant safety regulations I'm sure. I like the fact that tail lights are slightly different between the SE and Ti trims. I had an SE FFH for two years before upgrading to the FFET and never had an issue that I had diffferent lights on the SE. If people look at the specs and read the literature then they would know all the differences. There are two ways to get the Ti tail lights, either by a Ti in the first place or go and get a set and swap them in. Others have done this.

Any improvement in fuel efficiency?

I guess this is to be expected with gas prices continuing to be depressed as they are and no sign of rising this year. Pity people have such short term memories, when gas prices go back up the pendulum will swing back to more efficient vehicles.

Let us know how it performs. I've used them in the past on a Volvo V40 and had good results. Not sure I would get one for my FFE, the engine runs so rarely it would make any sense financially compared to the stock filter.

Installed Hitch for Bike Rack
storksb replied to jeffo65's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
I had my dealer install a Curt hitch, they did remove the under side body panel, but after 6 weeks I gave seen no impact on MPG. I like the look of the Curt hitch though, it is barely noticeable and works great with my bike rack. -
Having BLIS does not mean a driver should not be looking over their shoulder when making lane changes, it is an aid not a fail safe. Ford says as much in their BLIS literature. I had the spotter mirrors on my previous 13 FFH and now have BLIS on my 15 FFE and with both make quick visual check over the shoulder. Maybe this is the way I was taught to drive but it is ultimately the drivers responsibility to drive with due care and attention.

I had this issue on my FFH, if I remember correctly it was fixed with a software update. Your most likely to need a trip to the dealer.

New Fusion Hybrid vs Fusion Energi
storksb replied to RogerHan's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
RogerHan, what would the typical journey be for your wife's car? Short trips, long commute etc. If short trips or commute then the Energi would b ideal. Had my FFE for 2 months now and wouldn't go back to the FFH. When having to run on gas get 40 - 42 mpg though most trips i do purely on electrons. -
I would go with the 2015 if you can afford the payment. Bumper to bumper warranty would be worth it alone in my opinion plus you'll know the cars full history.

So this is interesting - Hybrid Payback Period
storksb replied to Howie411's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
I agree with ACDII, the payback period is one small calculation to consider when buying a car. When I recently upgrade to a Titanium Energi I didn't even bother to calculate the payback period over a similarly equipped FFH Titanium. It came down to choice, I wanted to be able to drive in EV mode whenever possible and when I do so it costs me less than half what the FFH would cost in energy usage but I'm not going to calculate how many miles and how long it will take for the Energi to payback the extra cost. Just going to enjoy driving it instead. -
Dash button tone went silent: Why? How can I fix?
storksb replied to Johnboy's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
There is a setting for this I believe under Vehicle Settings in the MFT. Not sure exactly where but I discovered it maybe 2 weeks ago. -
Well it looks like these pop up ads are here to stay so this is farewell. Some good information here but these ads are so intrusive and annoying, that I no longer enjoy the experience. Thanks to all for the knowledge that has been shared. Storksb

These new ads certainly lessen my desire to visit this site, can't imagine what the casual person browsing thinks. They need to be banished, the ads that is.
-
I would certainly consider a 2016 C-Max with the new grill, so much more appealing than the current model.
-
I typically don't mind the ads at the top and side of a web page and never really had a need for a pop up blocker, as I know sites have to at least cover their operating costs, but when the ads pop up like these are doing and affecting the usability of the site it is very frustrating. Just to highlight the usability issue the pop up is currently covering the "Post" button. Guess an attempt to stop this post. LOL
-
Anyone else getting the new pop up / slide up ads in the lower right hand corner of the screen on this site? Looks to have been recently added. So annoying as it always seems to be in the way of my mouse. I know the site needs to cover its operating costs but isn't there already enough ads on here?

So is there a technical reason why 2013 cars are not getting the update? Is the hardware different? Or is this purely based on time / model year? I can't imagine the hardware is significantly different between a 2013 & 2014 car, anyone able to tell what if any differences there is?

Congrats! Sounds like a great color combination, any pictures? Simon

Jeff_H, I searched Saturday and found a handful of 2013 FFE's in the DC area, there was a nicely equipped one for just over 26K at one dealer with NAV and the luxury pack, would be tempted but wouldn't be able to get my road bike in the trunk so will stick with the FFH. If I had know I may have been able to convince my wife to get one before she bought her TDi Jetta last month.

I have a vague recollection that there may have been a TSB for this. If not I would suggest finding another dealer, I had this issue once and my dealer knew all about it and what would be required to do if the error did not go away on its own, which it did.

Jerry's Ford has a collision repair center on Backlick Road Springfield. Never used them though. Simon
