  1. Correct. 100% just means that you got the maximum the car would allow.
  2. We've told you what it takes. Megan can't help with these issues. She just told you that in her last post. You have to start the BBB Autoline process. It would also be a good idea to talk with a lemon law attorney. Most will do a free consultation. I understand that you don't want an antagonistic relationship with Ford, but it doesn't seem like anything is being done. You could express to your CSM that you're considering this step. Ford may review the number of days that the car has been out of service & just decide to buy it back from you. I've heard that in some extreme cases, they will do that due to the number of days without solving an issue like yours. Another member had a 2013 (or maybe 2014?) Fusion Hybrid with similar issues. Eventually, Ford bought his car back. I think he just worked through his CSM. I think he replaced it with an Energi. This was years ago, so I don't remember all the details. Some of the other longer-term members may remember more than I do.
  3. It'll be very cool to see the Fusion family pic :camera:
  4. Here is the link to the page from the State of Connecticut. I'd go this route.
  5. Lemon Law time. If your loan is through Ford Credit, you can try contacting them & explaining the situation, in some cases I think they have waived payments when the car is out of service. I think this was mostly on leases, but maybe they would do it on a loan too.
  6. This picture shows 77.5 EV miles out of 137.1 total miles. That is a 56% EV ratio. That's excellent. It also shows 43.9 MPG. I'm not sure why you say you're getting less than 40 MPG...
  7. I hope they come out with an improved FFH & a new Energi with at least 40 miles of electric range.
  8. US spec vehicles do not have DRLs as a standard feature, like you do in Canada. 2015+ Fusions have user controlled DRLs that can be turned on or off as a dash menu option.
  9. Max defrost will make the ICE run versus just using defrost & a lower fan speed. Defrost will make the ICE run more than using floor or panel vents. Defrost will activate the ICE to make heat (or the electric heater in an Energi) plus the A/C compressor to dehumidify the air. This results in the maximum hit to MPG since you're demanding both heat & additional dehumidifying at the same time. Max defrost demands maximum heat & maximum dehumidifying so it's the worst in both senses.
  10. Chrome worked on our iMac to do the 3.8 update in the Focus Electric. I wasn't aware that it didn't work well with Firefox. Thanks for the heads up.
  11. I agree. This has been something we've noticed about the car since 2012.
  12. I read this & I wondered if the test subjects were in vehicles they were familiar with or unfamiliar with. That makes a big difference.
  13. http://www.hybridcars.com/october-2015-dashboard/ Volt sales are high with the Gen 2 Volt being available in a few states.
  14. Woohoo! MN is #47, almost the best... Sometimes though, the MN Nice mentality of letting ppl in is bad because it actually contributes to traffic jams. It's not uncommon to see drivers on the freeway brake heavily when they see mergers coming down an entrance ramp. This behavior causes traffic jams on the freeway.
  15. My wife calls me bear. She says that I'm like a bear because I'm tall & broad-shouldered & for a variety of other reasons she says I'm bearish. She started calling me "hybridbear" because of my interest in hybrid cars.
  16. Since getting an EV, traffic doesn't bother me anymore. I live only 1.5 miles from the office, so I usually walk, even in the winter. My wife drives about 4.5 miles to work. She chooses to take roads that parallel the freeway, rather that deal with getting on & off it. It usually takes her about 12-14 minutes to go the 4.5 miles. Usually the only time I have to drive in traffic is when I'm going somewhere on the other side of the city after work. In those cases, I leave early & allow lots of time. Then I can relax & enjoy the calming silence of the Focus Electric or Fusion Energi, even when sitting in traffic. A car like the Model S with Autopilot would make traffic somewhat enjoyable, since you could let the car do the driving for you. Tesla has said that their Autopilot system works best in fairly heavy traffic, since the car has a lot of data to help guide it down the road safely from all the vehicles around it. Having Adaptive Cruise that can bring the car to a complete stop & then start again from a stop would help a lot too.
  17. http://www.myfocuselectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1242 This thread at the Focus Electric forum about installing a Homelink visor in the FFE may be helpful. It explains how to remove the old visor. The steps should be very similar to what you'll have to do in your Fusion.
  18. 13 miles one-way should be long enough for the car to get warm. Grille blocking will help reduce the time it takes to warm up the ICE in the winter. The highway route will do a better job of getting the ICE warm in the winter. In the summer, with limited warm up times, the city route will likely use significantly less gas. In the winter, I would imagine that the difference will be minimal. In the winter the city route may even use more gas because the ICE will run when you aren't moving solely to provide cabin heat. If you want to go PHEV and commute 13 miles each way on electricity, don't go for an Energi. A Volt would be a better fit. There are great deals on the leftover 2015s. If you are a multi-car household you could look at keeping the FFH & replacing the other vehicle with a PHEV. Edit: I just re-read your post & it sounds like 13 miles is your new round-trip distance, not one way. 6.5 miles one way will definitely not get the ICE warm in the city, but should still get it warm on the freeway.
  19. Grille sutters begin opening once the ICE coolant temp exceeds about 200 F. Cooling fans won't come on until the ICE temp exceeds 220 F. I doubt this would ever happen unless you're driving up a mountain with grille blocking. Is this the case for all 2015+ FFHs?
  20. What's the code after the U3000? It should be U3000:xx. There are a variety of issues identified by that code, determined by the 2 characters following the colon. Some options indicate an issue with the Side Obstacle Detection Control Module, this would seem to fit the issue you're having. The dealer can perform a pinpoint test to see which side is the issue. Your info says it's the left side, but the dealer has a process to confirm that. The Workshop Manual tells the dealer to replace the SODL in that case. Has this already been done on your car? I was not able to find U0253. Perhaps GrySql can...
  21. 3.8 installed successfully in the Focus Electric & Siri Eyes Free works.
  22. Here's a pic of the amount of foam that I have left in the grille all summer without issue.
  23. Ford Owner shows 3.8 as available for the 2013 Focus Electric (built in fall 2012) but not for the 2013 Fusion Energi (built in May 2013). I am installing it now in the Focus Electric. I wasn't going to bother, but Siri Eyes Free is a very attractive feature. Hopefully Ford will figure out why some 2013 Fusions don't show this update...
